o That for India to be Blood Sufficient 40,000 persons have to donate blood everyday ?
o And that out of the total Blood Collected 25%, yes 25% needs to be allocated to meet the requirement of the 250,000 + Thalassemia Major patients, mainly children, in India who need 18 Blood Transfusions a year ?
o And that for a Thalassemia major Patient to have a comprehensive management he/she needs to spend at least Rs1.5 lakhs per year that Patients in the bottom of the social pyramid cannot afford ?
