Hi there, so as I mentioned at the start of this video. It's all my own opinion and is completely subjective. Ranking combat in video games is the hardest thing to do out of all of the stuff to rank as it factors based on you as a player, your own preferences, your own style of fighting, and also how enjoyable it is to you. There will be people that will say ACSyndicate has the best combat, whereas I have it dead last in this video. So yeah, have a great day, stay safe!💜
I haven't played odyssey so I can't rank it, but there's a lot of people that love it. I was upset they didn't really do much in ac Valhalla for sneaky builds like going prone and other stuff with so many skills that said I think the combats more fun and better than origins. To me Valhalla origins and because of opinions of a lot of friends that playing odyssey you feel the most like a bada** those 3 belong in top 3 in my opinion. I haven't played mirage yet.
Have you played these on MAX difficulty? I haven't completed most of them. I'm wondering if AC3 would be even better if you had max difficulty and limited HUD? with Ubisoft games I like to clear out the HUD, it gets very immersive and you are playing in a seek, analyze and react FLOW other than the see heavy guy ICON, dodge, kick, slash slash. I don't enjoy the Batman games as much because I was just reacting to the ICONS and not my positioning and weapons. I think I like AC UNITY the most.
Very true and like he said they could have very easily picked a time period and culture of people that would better support an assassins creed game so it’s hard for me to give them a pass for that cause even before both of those games came out i and a bunch of others already knew😭how tf you gonna fit assassins in this time period😭😭😭
I agree but also completely understand why they did it. I would probably not buy "not AC" Valhalla. TBH I was done with the series when AC Unity crashed for me and i lost like 50h save. To that point i played all the games and were buying they when they came out but with all those bugs in Unity i was done and didnt play syndicate until 2022 when i got huge promotion on all games (for about 100$ i had all from AC to AC odyssey) and my GF said that origins is really good and they fixed a lot of stuff in Unity/syndicate. So we bough together with her Valhalla but only as next AC game and not as "Viking game" and i guess that huge part of their sales were similar to me. TL;DR I dont like the fact that Eivor is label as Assassin but i understand it because i myself would probably not pick that game without AC branding
You didn't mention the "shock and awe" system in AC1, the best part in my opinion. When you kill an enemy brutally, another will get scared and become unable to defend themselves for a short time. When this happens you can obviously hit them but, less obvious, you can unlock and switch to the hidden blade to kill them. That will scare another so can keep doing it until you get hit or fail to get to the right guard. Could be explained better but it is a lot of fun and takes a bit more skill than the kill chains in Brotherhood to Rogue.
@user-zp3nn1ix4s it's toned down to just lower ranked guards running away. They also changed it to a points system where killing one would give an amount of points based on rank and it took more points to scare higher ranks. AC1 is the only AC we can do this sort of chain kill.
I really love AC1 combat it feels very brutal, every time you fight someone you get the impression that altair isnt mean to fight and that he want to end up fast with them
Connor may not be the most well regarded protagonist, but nobody can deny that dude is fuckin scary in a fight No over protag makes me go "dude chill" during a fight, it's awesome
@@H1tler510 Yeah the weapons are different but mechanically they always felt the exact same. Lien AC1 and AC2 both use the same counter kill system but AC2 includes more stuff to diversify combat. I have never noticed anything different between the mechanics of the combat in 3 vs Black Flag
i agree, the fact that 3 is at the top makes literally no sense to me. its the exact same mechanics in all 3 games apart from animations. i don't know why people have some religious belief that makes them think ac3 was some next level shit in comparrion to black flag or rouge.
To me, AC Unity feels so smooth and realistic Getting outnumbered is definitely a nightmare in this game just like in real life. Compared to older games where you can just hold the Block button
I’ve never had a problem with “lack of damage” in syndicate. However, Odyssey on the other hand, every enemy type was a damage sponge. It was annoying how long it took to take an enemy down
If you have the right build it feels really good, but you need like a min-maxed build for it. On nightmare difficulty I was killing enemies in like 3-5 seconds depending on the weapon type I used.
Agree, Syndicate wasn't a "dmg sponge warehouse", but it was lackluster and boring af because of how easy it was. The only challenge was taking on 5-8 enemies 2-3 lvls higher than you (that's why I loved early fight clubs)
@@wissam4920 No I killed them super easily too. But they also killed me super easily, so they were still pretty dangerous. It was always intimidating when more than 1 was after me.
Assassins creed valhalla is not meant to be played on the normal difficulty to experience the combat, i played it on hard and it made me think because of the stamina bar, when to attack and when to not
Completely agree with your first choice! I felt the same way after replaying the gamer for the second time, it's just so brutal and efficient. And as you said, there was such variety in the animations depending on your weapon.
I agree most of the things you said but Valhalla's combat is better than Origins, more refined + posture mechanic + weak points + more enemy types + dual wield weapon + more difference between weapons
@@irembrandtbrandt4596 i beleve its number 1 because it allows you to get new fighting styles as you progress the skill tree. for example: heavy dual weild, counter roll, advanced assasination, bow to melee link etc...
interesting pick for the number 1 spot especially since you "criticised" black flag and rogue for it but AC III is doing exactly the same (one button counter 1 button kill which makes you easily op) still it was an enjoyable video overall
The counter wasn't consistent. There were far too many that couldn't get countered in ac 3 .in black flag You just pressed 2 buttons X and ■ and you won
@@clubcardprice1054 i think the huge gap comes from a lack of weapon variety in black flag and with it also a lack of actual animations. AC 3 has more weapon variety with heavy weapons, blunt weapons, light weapons, and normal weapons like swords, that all had different animations and fighting styles. so the spectacle aspect of the fight became something noteworthy. and while i like black flag, it has like 3 different animations in the fights. There is no spectacle to heighten the boring combat system.
Glad to see that ac3 finally gets its due. Im so tired of people dismissing it as one of the worst in the series when in reality its actually top 3 imo
I feel like ac3 was only hated when it first came out because all the ezio toe suckers were mad to see another assassin besides ezio, but after time people actually realized just because it’s not an ezio game doesn’t mean it’s a bad game
It was that and the fact that generally they felt connor was a weak character with no development. And you played as haythem for too long. I feel you get to see Connor grow a lot, and realistically, he would have been naive and reckless during his first couple years. Hence why he was the strongest and most brutal of all the playable assassins. And playing as haythem is still one of the craziest surprises in video games to date.
Dear americans, take off that pink patriotic sunglasses and then you will see the correct place of that episode. You can love the story, thats ok. But look behind it, dont get blinded by the story. (Im talking about the remastered, never played the original, people say it was much better.)
I think ac 1 had a good combat with good animations and satisfying counter kill, although i feel like by the end of the game i had too much health so it was pretty much impossible to die and to make it worse health regenerates.
Templars where a little bit more challenging, if you ever decided (or were unable) to fight them instead of just killing them from behind with the hidden blade
Honestly? For me it's origins every time. It's built primarily around combat. and I like the weapon variety, perks and weight. You feel like you're swinging the weapons. Also the entire point of odyssey and origins is it's building the history of the assassins. It's a backstory, an ORIGIN point. Listening to an AC fan is like punching myself.
@thehiddenone black flag had a weapon called "pistol swords" you can unlock that sword by completing all the assassination contracts. That was the most powerful sword in the game. All it takes was a 3 hit combo system 1st strike breaks the defence, 2nd initiates a combo and 3rd is the killing blow. The counter kills with that sword is even more deadly
I feel like a health bar is not too bad. Games like DMC do it really good, they give you a health bar in the shape of the hard lock on, and it just helps you know how much health an enemy have.
Just finished playing AC III. I really liked the combat but idk if it is worth the first spot, sometimes it's just too confusing on whether or not you should atack, parry or break the enemy's defense. Also, some weapons were really a let down gameplay wise, like daggers having the same animations as hatchets, not to mention that the arrows were too short ranged and everytime you'd aim at someone's head, the arrow would go really slowly into their torso, which was awfully ugly. Guns were kinda disapointing too, they didn't look powerful enough and some would sound like they had a silencer on. But overall AC III really has great combat mechanics, really deserving of top 3.
i just finished playing too! and yeah the combat is pretty good but definitely not perfect. it was pretty snappy tho which was very nice when you needed to change targets and block/parry
I agree with your statement but I wouldn’t say the combat was confusing imo. The trick is knowing the archetypes of enemies so you would know whether an enemy is more susceptible to counter kills or break defenses etc. That being said Ubisoft did a poor job at explaining this in game. It’s like trying to read a book with half the pages missing, so of course it can be confusing! In short, I wouldn’t say the combat is confusing but the way Ubisoft explains the combat in-game is lackluster therefore being confusing
@@T_Holmes Agreed, if they at least had made the clues clearer I think it would be perfect. I gotta replay ACIII too, I think a second playthrough would be really helpful for a better understanding of the gameplay
@@pedrot.9418 for sure. It’s one of those combat systems that’s easy to pick up but hard to master with all of the intricacies like the double executions, tool executions, etc.
HOT TAKE: 1. Valhalla has the best animations In my opinion (you can turn off disoreintative finishers) 2. Valhalla has the best parry/block system in my opinion 3. Valhalla has the most diversity in enemies in my opinion ( just look at its enemies in the codex) It should at least be top 5 in my opinion. (btw im not glazing but im just saying its underrated)
I like how Ubisoft added Vlad Tepes' sword to Revelations since Vlad Tepes was a cruel Romanian ruler and the actions in Revelations are in the same period as Vlad Tepes's actions in Romania (🇷🇴) here he was putting spikes in the people who were rich and were mogging and laughing about the poor ones, piercing the spike through their bodies, from their butt all the way up to their head
I was very suprised when black flag was so low cuz honestly it was fun but he makes very good points tho. The enemy’s were VERY easy and dumb but honestly annihilating them was absolutely fun, 2 guns and 2 swords were rlly fun to use in combat
I'm not sure if I agree on how harsh you were on AC: Syndicate, I think it definitely held your hand but I think all games have done that up to Syndicate, what I didn't like was actually the Skill Points that allowed you to one-shot all the enemies, You're required to get it to level up to 10 but it really ruined the combat. I liked the combat in Syndicate until I got those perks. (I actually replayed this over the weekend because of your videos)
My favorite combat systems in this franchise are a toss up between AC: Brotherhood, AC: Revelations, and AC: Origins. All three had their unique charms and challenges. And I liked discovering them a lot. They were great. The rest I either like or just annoy me.
I just replayed the original Assassin’s Creed and I gotta say the combat was refreshing as fuck. Timing your hits perfectly is way more engaging than just button mashing or leveling up high enough to just wipe people out.
I agree on most spots but for me personally Sindycate combat style is fantastic, i really liked it mostly due to being able to use a punch weapon and i love punching but the cane also was incredibly cool and stylish to use and the kukri was honestly the one i liked the least but i loved that too. Anyway yeah great takes in my opinion, ac3 has the best power-fantasy combat possible in the ac games.
@@tbtnr9851 True. But in an odd way, it encouraged me to use stealth all the time. As the combat was kind of a "you failed, now you have to do it the easy way".
that's interesting perspective. I just hate Syndycate's combat system and I always avoid it as much as I can (meaning - i'm trying to do it only by stealth and sometimes by shooting). I will try use more shooting and no hand to hand combat next time. Thanks for your idea
dude i remember when i was like in my early teens, i got my first ps3, it had ac revelations in it, i had no idea what that game is, and when i played it i got hooked, i stopped playing cuz of the janissaries, i got so frustrated i destroyed my controller from all the banging on the table and the walls i did.
I liked in AC1 the critical attacks when you hit the attack button as soon as you clash weapons or hit someone it caused an insta kill. It came back for 2 and I believe the Ezio games but they didn't feel as important as it was in the first game to take out enemies. In 2-4 I would try to get counter-kills but in 1 I was incentivized to attack and try to pull off these insta-kills to get rid of everyone faster.
I agree with this a lot, if this were my list I would switch Unity and Brotherhood, but barring that I completely agree with where everything else was placed!
The naval combat is where AC Black Flag really shines and it could get really challenging and exciting, but since this isn't the part of combat that is being copared between the games, I just point that out to say the game is awesome and worth playing.
Also don't listen to the community Assassin's creed Odyssey and Valhalla are assassin's creed games as Odyssey expanded the ISU lore and Valhalla also expanded the ISU and gave us the birth of the templars I won't say anything else as it's a huge spoiler
Syndicate is my favourite as I love the animations and the vibe it feels like there is actually a point to fight the blighters unlike the other games where sometimes you just fight random guards
8:00 Personally I liked the AC3/ACL/AC4/AC FC/ACRo combat system because it was so easy and the combos looked so cool. Flowing from one enemy to the other was so easy.
Correct me if im wrong, but one of the best swords in origins, is the legendary sword you get after the sundail puzzles it does crazy damage and has a really cool cut scene that goes with it.
One thing about AC2 combat is how unbelievably frustrating fighting the larger spear-wielding opponents is. They frequently block your attacks, so you really can’t do damage by just attacking them. In addition, I could never get the timing of counter killing on them right. So the only consistent method of beating them was by disarming them, which was only possible when they attacked, meaning that you have to wait for them to attack, which they would sometimes take an enragingly long period of time to do during an encounter.
I think your ranking of odyssey is a bit clouded. The combat in odyssey and origins can be pretty much the same. Origins already had poisonous/flaming weapons. The main difference is in origins I've read there are technically no unparryable attacks, but they were difficult to pull of. I think a fair ranking would place the combat in odyssey near the combat in origins, since it is so similar but with extra features you don't have to spec into. If you play a stealth/ranged ability only, you'll barely notice the difference in their combat. Story and justifications for the combat system shouldn't be taken into account unless youre reviewing the game as a whole.
Always loved the combat in AC1. Back in the day it looked so cool and it still does. I also like it how you don't really hit your enemy before the killing blow, outside of those rare few slices that could go through their guard and draw blood. It made the fighting look a bit more realistic. Visually very flashy. Never cared how easy or difficult the fighting was as long as it was fun and enjoyable to look at. Though the number one spot for myself would be either Unity or AC3. Unity just looks really nice while AC3 is just a lot of fun.
So on the notes for unity, there is a way to flow consistently like in the old games. Using a smoke or flash bomb and consistently switching targets continues your usually limited chain. on top of this, if the enemies are under level compared to you, you can hold attack to immediately do a finisher instead, allowing that instakill chain to remain present. Idk if this affects your ranking, but those two things made combat let you get creative even when it wasn't the game's main focus. Hope this helps if you ever want to play it again!
i actually really loved Syndicate's combat, i liked how you had to combo to kill. made it more interesting in my opinion. but then again Syndicate is my fave AC game so i'm biased lol. also i absolutely agree with you on that thing in the Unity part, i HATED the snipers they were so annoying. they had the eyes of Legolas i swear and were just as annoying as that one enemy that always blocked, i think it was the enemy at 28:24. legit hated that guy like: me: 'oh i'll just parry them' enemy: spams attack and doesn't let me parry me: 'ok i'll shoulder bash them to open up their defence' enemy: DODGES IT me: ):
So back in Victorian times they actually had to learn street fighting that was a real thing so they tried to implement that best in the game as they could so they did have to take some liberties and change some stuff so yes the combat is different because you’re not using weapons, but that’s what makes you unique and if you actually do the combat right it can be absolutely incredible in the gameI’ve spent over 200 hours in it.
I want an assassins creed game with The ambition of 1 The story of 2 The side missions of brotherhood The ending impact revelations The combat of 3 The naval combat of black flag The uniqueness of rouge The parkour of unity The assassinations of syndicate The main character of origins The multiple endings of odyssey The brutality of Valhalla The graphics of mirage The character swapping of shadows
While Syndicate is dead last, it's the most flashy and polished one aesthetically. This was achieved only cause of how rigid and automated Syndicate's combat was. I played this as my first AC game, so after I played Unity and Black Flag I realized how much I was missing out on.
Opinions are exactly that, opinions so I don’t want to judge your list too much. I am very confused though. I remember black flag and AC3 being basically the same combat system.
They are the same mechanically but the "feel" is just so much nicer in III. Not sure if it's something to do with the movement, animations, design, or sound, but I've always noticed the difference.
I cannot believe how overrated AC3's fighting system is. Yeah, it has pretty visuals, but that doesn't make it fun at all. It's EXTREMELY easy, the sensation of reward is completely missing since 95% of the fight is parry and counter, and that's it, with just one counter you can kill all enemies, and if you chain the attack button you can just wipe out 300 soldiers with just one button. Once, the game glitched and started to send me infinite enemies, I swear I was like 40 minutes just killing enemies without having a single hit. Also I felt it like a massive downgrade from the previous games, where fighting was actually difficult and you couldn't just kill anybody with one parry. I would like to know why people love this so much being so easy
AC 1- Revelations, almost same combat system with minor differences in Brotherhood and Revelations AC 3 - Rogue, literally same system Unity - Unique Syndicate - Unique Origins - Mirage, same with specific mechanics in each game... So is pretty dumb putting like Valhalla so low while putting Origins so high.. the combat is samething, you may like the unique features it has compared to Valhalla, like the lack of abilities.
Honestly, Syndicate's 'problems' can be solved by using a high-level weapon that's fully upgraded. It makes combat encounters a joke. You're also able to kill enemies quicker, meaning that all those flashy and perhaps overdone animations don't happen as often.
If only they took the combat system from ac 3 and the parkour variation from unity and made the game with that it’d be a better game honestly but I don’t think it’s too bad of a game I just think we’re gonna have to hope for a better ac game next time around
I really liked odyssey.i completed witcher 3 way back .this feels like it.i dont mind fighting mythological character this add weight to the story more..as it show what greek poeple in ancient times believed in.and comr on its a game😢.its made to have fun..odyssey was fun with those historical places events and mythology .and being an assassin i sometime clear an entire fort without being seen.so i really like it.obviously when u play it in edtreme mode ghe results are different but for me this feels good.maybe because i enjoyed witcher 3 before and shifted to thus
I agree with Syndicate being last place But I'm a believer that improving upon it is actually the best way to go for Assassin's Creed. If it was less spongy and had a fixed multi-kill feature. It can actually fix AC's issues with being too easy while still maintaining its flashiness. It also runs at a frantic pace unlike the Ezio trilogy which is nice. Multi-kills are a good way to to make flashiness rewarding because there is the challenge to set things up unlike in the Ezio/Kenway Sage where you're just given free insta-kills
Thank you for saying that about Odyssey. This video was well done and raised great points. Not mad at it. Origin’s definitely was one of my favorite of the recent games. But the biggest W was putting AC3 up there! I know people at that game but AC3 had GREAT Combat if not the best for one of the original OG AC games. To say otherwise is just pure hate. Connor was one of the most brutal assassins and takes out whole red coat camps.
I love syndicate combat mainly I played sleeping dogs before and is similar I picked it up fast and also is a really fun and test of your reaction time
In my opinion unity is the most janky and bugged combat system, almost every fight has bugged audio and it cuts out, the enemies are floaty and move in slow motion. I would put it in the 9th place or 8th
Ac liberation is consistently ignored by the Fans. That game blew my mind, i wasnt expecting it to have as much as it did. The whip is one of my favorite weapons in the AC games
I do agree AC 3 in the series has the most smoothes and visually appealing combat system in the AC franchise. You feel like a fast hard hittjng tank in that game
28:56 this actually why i don’t like the combat in unity the game is not bad but assassin’s creed doesn’t need strategic sword fighting its not for honor or the witcher
I never deflect bullets in ACR. When they are aiming, they have literally no defense, and one simple attack with any weapon can deal damage while they aim.
I agree with most things especially origins. It's amazing but people hate it since it's rpg. It is perfectly balanced between being a warrior and being challenging, fun animations, wide range of weapons, good music and reasonable boss fights. However I heavily disagree with unity. I can appreciate the ideas but literally everything was poorly implemented even after the bug fixes, they should have kept it in development for longer. It's still very glitchy, he has the slowest sword swing in the series and is slower than real life, parrying does nothing, enimies have infinite stamina, they recover impossibly fast and break your block easily while you can't do the same, waaaaay too many guards so you get swarmed, over reliance on smoke bombs, no free aim in combat, BS systems galore such as people dodging every quickshot no matter what and it's not even close to being realistic like many people think it is. He does very wide swings and reaching for more hits, he leaves himself wide open, does stupid spinning attacks and the animations were often choppy and wouldn't even hit them. It's easily the worst combat in the franchise, it's not even a fun challenge like origins it's just a pain.
3 & 4 are mechanically the same. I feel just as powerful in 3 as I do 4 and it's just as easy, counters and chain kills while occasionally breaking a guard. So I don't see how they are so far apart on the list. But I do appreciate seeing Unity high up, I always like that game's combat a lot.
@@CYB3R2K Fair points. But to have such a chasm between them on this list is still mind blowing. 3 is the same combat as 4 with slightly higher difficulty basically.
Black Flag is often considered too easy because the difficulty was tweaked in order to provide a better experience on the Wii U. And considering Rogue is a copy-paste of Black Flag animations/AI, the difficulty tweak crosses over.
If I had a mod that removed the constant switching out of equipment and made all enemies(outside of bosses) have the ezio trilogy amount of health. While also heavily lowering the player health, then odyssey would be fun. Only after all those changes.
Oh! Can you tell me the difference between AC3,4 and Rogue combat? I personally have played and finished these games for almost 3-4 times, and these three games share similar combat system. When there is no difference between 3,4 and Rouge its clearly so dumb of you to place black flag on last second and praise AC3 as the best combat system. Just shows your Sheep mentality, "Oh the fans love it? Then I must place it at first!"
Out of the ac games i played1,2, black flag, rogue, syndicate. I love the combat in ac1 and 2 the most, taunting is funny, the different techniques like the grab counter requiered you to time them correctly.
Watched your stealth ranked video and agreed but the fact that the RPG games aren’t the top three in combat is crazy. Outside of AC1 and maybe Unity combat in AC games has always been waiting for the exclamation point or and pressing B to counter and X to kill. In the old games I would face loads of enemies and just sit and spam those two buttons and it was so boring and dull. Maybe you would have defense breaking or pulling enemies in front of gunfire but it was all so basic and bland. So to say that those combat systems were better than the RPG ones is insane
I'm boutta get violated for this but I like syndicates combat. I like the fact that I can wipe out herds of people looking cool af. If u don't think it looks cool, u prolly don't know how to get the animation. What I do is get all enemies 1 hit away then attack which looks really cool

@@wissam4920 No I killed them super easily too. But they also killed me super easily, so they were still pretty dangerous. It was always intimidating when more than 1 was after me.

Unpopular opinion: assassins creed 1 had the best combat because the skill threshold was the highest and it felt the most realistic in my opinion
And not to mention how many hidden mechanics and systems there were, and it's a rhythm game if you're going for combo kills and shock and awe
Assassins creed valhalla is not meant to be played on the normal difficulty to experience the combat, i played it on hard and it made me think because of the stamina bar, when to attack and when to not
Assassin's creed black flag and rouge combat was easy but extremely satisfying with beautiful animations
Yeah, easily top 3, if not the best, I never get tired of combat in Valhalla
@@irembrandtbrandt4596 i beleve its number 1 because it allows you to get new fighting styles as you progress the skill tree. for example: heavy dual weild, counter roll, advanced assasination, bow to melee link etc...
interesting pick for the number 1 spot especially since you "criticised" black flag and rogue for it but AC III is doing exactly the same (one button counter 1 button kill which makes you easily op)
still it was an enjoyable video overall
The counter wasn't consistent. There were far too many that couldn't get countered in ac 3 .in black flag You just pressed 2 buttons X and ■ and you won
@@UzairAli-iy5jh that's fair but they are still very similar and the huge gap doesn't make amazing sense
@@UzairAli-iy5jhCan you list them down? Because in my experience they are both literally the same in general combat
@@kiddzy2308 expect the weapons you use and some enemies and you taking more damage in ac 3
Glad to see that ac3 finally gets its due. Im so tired of people dismissing it as one of the worst in the series when in reality its actually top 3 imo
Absolutely. The diversity of the animations in battle are insane! Pick up a new weapon and you have at least 10 different kinds of kills with it.
@@Growmetheusbut the dagger animation
The thing is, there wasn't a health bar in ac1
Honestly? For me it's origins every time. It's built primarily around combat. and I like the weapon variety, perks and weight. You feel like you're swinging the weapons.
Also the entire point of odyssey and origins is it's building the history of the assassins. It's a backstory, an ORIGIN point. Listening to an AC fan is like punching myself.
personally, Odyssey is in a grey area, but Origin is an assassins creed game, but take down the stealth
@@CYB3R2K how is it? Explain to me how the story is bad, I Wana hear your side.
I don't get the last argument?
The video is talking about combat so I don't get the point of them being the origin point
Brotherhoods combat was pretty broken with the hidden blade lol. Which is why its fun though!
I feel like a health bar is not too bad. Games like DMC do it really good, they give you a health bar in the shape of the hard lock on, and it just helps you know how much health an enemy have.
To be fair to Valhalla the disorientating finisher camera can be turned off in the menu
HOT TAKE:
1. Valhalla has the best animations In my opinion (you can turn off disoreintative finishers)
2. Valhalla has the best parry/block system in my opinion
3. Valhalla has the most diversity in enemies in my opinion ( just look at its enemies in the codex)
It should at least be top 5 in my opinion.
(btw im not glazing but im just saying its underrated)
Agreed

@@baslanofficial925 I literally said "In my opinion"
I like how Ubisoft added Vlad Tepes' sword to Revelations since Vlad Tepes was a cruel Romanian ruler and the actions in Revelations are in the same period as Vlad Tepes's actions in Romania (🇷🇴) here he was putting spikes in the people who were rich and were mogging and laughing about the poor ones, piercing the spike through their bodies, from their butt all the way up to their head
In Valhalla you could get a skill that would use your hidden blade in certain parry’s
I know, its your own oppinion, but how can Black Flag be so low and AC 3 be 1st?
yeah lol, 3 and 4 have the exact combat, the only difference is ac3 weapon have much more variety and 4 only has dual swords
lmaooo
The animations look so cartoonish .
@@pitbullthedog668 Not to me, but still even if they look cartoonish they look good so i don't really care.

I love the combat system in Black Flag and Rogue. It makes you feel, like you are better then your opponent

that's interesting perspective. I just hate Syndycate's combat system and I always avoid it as much as I can (meaning - i'm trying to do it only by stealth and sometimes by shooting). I will try use more shooting and no hand to hand combat next time. Thanks for your idea
Hello! Great video so far, you are coming a long way, and one of my inspirations, keep up the great work!!!!
dude i remember when i was like in my early teens, i got my first ps3, it had ac revelations in it, i had no idea what that game is, and when i played it i got hooked, i stopped playing cuz of the janissaries, i got so frustrated i destroyed my controller from all the banging on the table and the walls i did.
Hidden one you hide in plain sight and it kind of reminded me of the voices in my house hiding from me when i go to investigate
i hate those voices
I liked in AC1 the critical attacks when you hit the attack button as soon as you clash weapons or hit someone it caused an insta kill. It came back for 2 and I believe the Ezio games but they didn't feel as important as it was in the first game to take out enemies. In 2-4 I would try to get counter-kills but in 1 I was incentivized to attack and try to pull off these insta-kills to get rid of everyone faster.
Definitely!!!!! That and the amount of moves and responses you could perform, that is the best system for me
32:31 If that’s the case then technically Connor was also untouched and unharmed in combat and exploration for the most part.
Odyssey is my first AC game and I'm loving it. So I can't wait to see what else is out there.
It's my favorite RPG but my favorite game is Valhalla I hope you enjoy these games
Also don't listen to the community Assassin's creed Odyssey and Valhalla are assassin's creed games as Odyssey expanded the ISU lore and Valhalla also expanded the ISU and gave us the birth of the templars I won't say anything else as it's a huge spoiler
@@CYB3R2K care to explain why then because your logic is vague and just not good
Also proving my point lol
Odyssey is a great game. Check out Origins too.
Syndicate is my favourite as I love the animations and the vibe it feels like there is actually a point to fight the blighters unlike the other games where sometimes you just fight random guards
I absolutely love your videos I watch them all the time and enjoy everything about them
8:00 Personally I liked the AC3/ACL/AC4/AC FC/ACRo combat system because it was so easy and the combos looked so cool. Flowing from one enemy to the other was so easy.
Correct me if im wrong, but one of the best swords in origins, is the legendary sword you get after the sundail puzzles it does crazy damage and has a really cool cut scene that goes with it.
Isnt AC 3 just the same as Black Flag and Rogue tho?
Hope this helps if you ever want to play it again!
i actually really loved Syndicate's combat, i liked how you had to combo to kill. made it more interesting in my opinion. but then again Syndicate is my fave AC game so i'm biased lol.
also i absolutely agree with you on that thing in the Unity part, i HATED the snipers they were so annoying. they had the eyes of Legolas i swear and were just as annoying as that one enemy that always blocked, i think it was the enemy at 28:24. legit hated that guy like:
me: 'oh i'll just parry them'
enemy: spams attack and doesn't let me parry
me: 'ok i'll shoulder bash them to open up their defence'
enemy: DODGES IT
me: ):
So back in Victorian times they actually had to learn street fighting that was a real thing so they tried to implement that best in the game as they could so they did have to take some liberties and change some stuff so yes the combat is different because you’re not using weapons, but that’s what makes you unique and if you actually do the combat right it can be absolutely incredible in the gameI’ve spent over 200 hours in it.
I want an assassins creed game with
The ambition of 1
The story of 2
The side missions of brotherhood
The ending impact revelations
The combat of 3
The naval combat of black flag
The uniqueness of rouge
The parkour of unity
The assassinations of syndicate
The main character of origins
The multiple endings of odyssey
The brutality of Valhalla
The graphics of mirage
The character swapping of shadows
So where is the Hidden one from I mean I see he has subtitles in vids but dudes English is really on point
Mă bucur că am găsit acest canal erau jocurile care mi-au făcut copilăria mult mai frumoasă
Press one button and now you are watching a movie of Doomguy killing 30 soldiers in a row. It´s so bad.
AC 1- Revelations, almost same combat system with minor differences in Brotherhood and Revelations
AC 3 - Rogue, literally same system
Unity - Unique
Syndicate - Unique
Origins - Mirage, same with specific mechanics in each game...
I just don’t get why the berserker darts in Unity are contagious, it makes them insanely overpowered 😂
Origin's combat wasnt bad but the extreme lack of finisher moves in favor of characters falling down dead makes it go at the bottom of my list.
Origins war elephants were one of my favourite parts of the game
I remember one time in AC3 my game bugged, and enemies just didn't stop spawning. I basically won the war for the crown
😂

Considering your video upload rate, we can hope to get worst to best eagle vision soon?
out of interest why did you place black flag so low and 3 so high? They have nearly the same system, being the counter instant kill
In ac Valhalla I have become unstoppable from 100+ hours of grinding and now I have this badass version of eivor
Valhalla and AC2 have my two favorite combat systems. Loved this video btw 😄
Disarm and hand to hand combat needs to be in every AC. III was almost perfect for me, just need that crouching sneaking vibe.
I really liked odyssey.i completed witcher 3 way back .this feels like it.i dont mind fighting mythological character this add weight to the story more..as it show what greek poeple in ancient times believed in.and comr on its a game😢.its made to have fun..odyssey was fun with those historical places events and mythology .and being an assassin i sometime clear an entire fort without being seen.so i really like it.obviously when u play it in edtreme mode ghe results are different but for me this feels good.maybe because i enjoyed witcher 3 before and shifted to thus
I agree with Syndicate being last place
But I'm a believer that improving upon it is actually the best way to go for Assassin's Creed.
Odyssey was a good game because in confidently and competently leaned into being an action RPG.
I love syndicate combat mainly I played sleeping dogs before and is similar I picked it up fast and also is a really fun and test of your reaction time
oh man sleeping dogs had a great combat system
In my opinion unity is the most janky and bugged combat system, almost every fight has bugged audio and it cuts out, the enemies are floaty and move in slow motion. I would put it in the 9th place or 8th
Unity had the best potential. If only its finishers were not buggy it would have been de facto best combat in AC series
Unfortunately many have “parkour animations” tinted glasses - which ironically look pretty floaty especially when hopping on platforms.
Because the game was not finished. A better story + one more year of developement could've transformed Unity into GOTY
I’m surprised you have 3 at no1 and black flag nearly last because they’re very similar
In terms of Combat i love the RPG trio
I love the fact that you can grab people in the Ezio games and slice them
3 & 4 are mechanically the same.
Honestly Valhalla feels perfect in combat bc you can feel the hits
i love it too
its so underrated
Yeah replaying rogue and black flag made me realize the stats seem to not matter. it's more of a skin for your sword

Out of the ac games i played1,2, black flag, rogue, syndicate. I love the combat in ac1 and 2 the most, taunting is funny, the different techniques like the grab counter requiered you to time them correctly.
"In the previous games, you could only parry with a sword, which gave you much more control of Bayek."
*Shows footage of the very next game*
I mean, that's part of the pro arguments for the Kenway saga, which allowed for some sweet looking connections as well.
