I met George once at a local casino I worked at, I told him he was my favorite comedian, he stood up, hugged me, and said "get better fucking standards" was the best moment of my life next to my wedding 🤣
All good stories are made up.
That's awesome. I can hear him saying that.
Omg! 😂🤣😂 Thats awesome!
😂
👍
Every topic George discussed as a problem in the 80's and 90's is an even bigger problem now.
I like how "now" consists of more than 2 decades. You remind me of this one radio station that does the same thing. Mentions the 80s, 90s and today, as if the noughties and the 10s are still a part of the present.
@@genostellar Unlike those radio stations, I don't consider "now" to include the past two decades. My comment was specifically linking his commentary of the 80s and 90s to our current world. I do, however, realize that many of these issues did exist (and often worsened) during the 2000s and 2010s.
Well, not camcorders.
@@seraiharper5553 Everyone has a camcorder in their pocket now. It's the same principle, made even worse.
@@genostellar You do make a valid point, despite being a bit rude. I do think the 2010's are still recent enough and have enough in common with the 2020's to be considered the present, although that will probably only be true for a few more years. But 2000-2009 is definitely 'the past' now. It shares more in common with the 80's and 90's than it does with the past 13 years, mainly because the smartphone and social media didn't exist for most of it.
No one ever in the history of comedy will ever come close to Carlin. I love Bill Hicks, he can go through a very decent rant, but George is insurpassable. Rest in peace, and thank you, sir, for showing me how to think.
I agree but I would put Doug Stanhope up there as well. His first few albums are not only hilarious, but also enforce these points with the precision of a defense lawyer.
George Carlin is good, but Groucho Marx would like a word, lmao.
@@ks5553, Doug is awesome, but I would also put on that list both the late, great Greg Giraldo, the late, great Patrice O'Neill, and the currently alive, Dave Attell. Oh, and how could I forget Bill Burr?! And lately, Jimmy Dore is crushing it as well.
Bill Hicks didnt get to become great as Carlin since he left us too early
As far as politicians go, I read a quote from a science fiction novel that said... "As long as you have people who are willing to follow insane orders, then there will always be someone around to give them."
Imagine your only memories of George are of his time on Shining Time Station as Mr Conductor (the show Thomas the Tank was on in the 80s).... and then you watch this.
That's what happened to me. I was in shock!
RIP George
I loved watching that show! My favorite ❤
So years ago Rick Moranis did a parody bit on Carlin and called him out for lazy jokes among others. Instead of getting offended and sitting there pitying himself Carlin came back with avengeance and proved who he was. Took that motivation and came out back on top again. That's how you come back and that's the energy you're seeing here. No one beat Carlin when he was on.
Rick Moranis was always gonna lose that fight😂
got to see George Carlin in the 80's. had awsome seats. could've thrown popcorn on stage, we were so close. he asked "so where you all from?" one of my friends hollered "CANDOR!" ... George had a field day with that..."CANDOR?! Isn't that like a DISEASE or something?! I think my mother had candor...and on he went, for about 10 minutes about our town. awesome improv...awesome show...RIP George
The GOAT! Saw him live many years ago. Amazing!
I got to see George around 2000-2002. Laughed so hard I actually fell out of my seat. I miss George's voice as I watch our world become evermore what he feared it would. Imagine if after news broadcast you got George's take on it.
I imagine him up in heaven, looking down on us and running a great commentary on what we "stupid humans " are up to these days. Omg, he is missing A LOT of material, he would be in his glory were he still here😞❤️
He was an atheist. If there is a heaven or a hell, he'd be in hell. I don't know why people insist on applying things to people that don't apply. It's like those American movies about people from other countries that give those characters western traits so they'll be more palatable for white people.
He's screaming up at us all. ❤️
He didn’t believe in God, so I doubt he’s looking down…..
I imagine him in a box in the ground, slowly rotting away and not being aware of anything going on.
@@anonymouscali7966 I don't believe in God, so I doubt he's looking anywhere.
I love your reactions to his words. Your last reaction made my laugh out loud. I have been watching and listening to George since I was 15 years old. I’m 67 today and I love people who have never seen or heard of George . He was a genius!
@4:19 “I don’t have pet peeves. I have major psychotic f-cking hatreds.” - George Carlin 😁
I think that George would be disgusted with how the world is today! 😢 R.I.P. I was just 10 when I was able to meet him and he was hilarious! 🤣 His skills would wind up a lot of people in today's America! 😂 Thank you for sharing your contagious laughter and honest opinions with us and the world! ❤ 🤗 Love and hugs from Oklahoma Britt!
Hello from the UK - Great reaction. Such a great loss to humanity. R.I.P. George.
If you believe in the multiverse theory, there has to be a universe where George was a world leader. I want to live in that world.
Love George ! Miss him and I would be EVERY interested to get his take on our country today! He would need a 3 hour special to cover even a fraction
We need George now more than ever.
Angry, ranting, grumpy old dude. My favorite type of George. I love when he starts a routine and just thirty seconds in he's getting after it and it never ends until the bit is over.
Hilarious ! Peace
When he gets on a roll, the intensity goes through the roof. Incredible.
1-hour photo finishing:
Back in the day (hey, I'm old.
I can use old, worn-out phrases), film was kept in a roll of anywhere from 12 to 36 pictures. It might take up to a year to take all of the photos, as no one would pull the film early and leave some exposures unused. Hence, quick finishing was popular, since a person might not remember what the first few pictures were.
My gay and transgender religious and atheist friends in the Netherlands love him. That is how got to your channel. I am not religious but I lived like a Buddhist nun in India with the Dalai Lama and I am trying to inspire people to follow their dreams. I am a writer. Xxx regards.
Britt, you're a cool lady. You're personality is very refreshing. you're husband (if you're married) is a lucky guy. Keep up your great attitude.
Beautiful Britt! Great reaction as they all are! George was legend and ahead of his time. Let's go 100k subscribers!
RIP to a legend.......I bet you would like Jeff Ross roast of Emmitt Smith video hilarious.. great job as always
with each passing year i become more and more like george.
Carlin did his last show in June of 2008 just a week before his death at 71 from heart failure. The material in his last sets is extremely brutal in comparison to these 90s sets, but they are even more accurate and true
George lives on through the great comedians of today, it's like George Carlin and Richard Pryor had baby's and we got modern comedy
Im so fortunate to have gotten to see him live once in Stockton, CA. Wonderful show.
We miss George's perspective, and yes would love to see his take on the world today - he would have enough material for 3 HBO specials.
I already enjoyed your reactions, but more so now that the swearing isn’t edited.
George was my favourite comedian and I’m lucky to have seen him live twice.
If you are keeping the videos unedited, check out Jimmy Carr most offensive jokes.😂
Well sadly 😥 😔 he passed in 2008,I believe he was 71,now he would be 86,can only imagine what his views about the world 🌎 would be, but realize it would be hilarious 😂
They would probably be the same. Except things have got worse.
I can only imagine what George would say about the iPhone and everyone's face in it. lol
The reason 1h was desireable was because you could hand in your film for development, do some other errands, return to the store and get your pictures, all in one go. No need to return the next day etc.
And film was expensive enough that all but the last picture could have been taken 6 months ago.
George Carlin would love 2023 and all its material.
I don't know how you can possibly do it. These days you're putting out more content than probably all the other channels I subscribe to, combined. And it's not just anything - it's all good stuff. You obviously put real effort into every segment. It's always fun to watch, but please also keep it fun for yourself.
What's interesting to think about, is that smart phones with video tech hasn't been out for very long. Only mid to late 2,000's did they begin. They weren't popular yet when George passed in 2008. Had the first iPhone a year earlier, and the first Galaxy a year later. They were mainly flip phones with crappy internet up until then.
I was born in the 70s and I am loving this!!!!! So true!!!! LOL 😂
His bit about the 10 commandments is pretty good aswell. If u havent seen it you should :)
I think we already know what he would think of our age - check out his routine "Modern Man"!
Miss you George 💖
Love George thank you for this
He was real and brilliant!
And watching your reaction to him makes me smile 😃
But then again, you could react to a moldy block of cheese 🧀 and I would be happy to watch.
Keep up the good work! 👍
Right on Britt, I say that to myself every time I watch George, what would he have to say about stuff today? Politics, fashion, tech, woke-ism, karens, covid, entertainment, January 6th, you name it. Come back George, make an exception and resurrect yourself, please, we need you! Had the great pleasure of seeing him just once, in Asbury Park, NJ at the height of his 7 deadly words period, so much fun.
Been watching your channel for a little bit now and George is a Class act comedian. I was a bit surprised you let him go on without bleeping him lol. He was upfront in your face and as real as they come.. he did not hold back and told it like it is.. Guessing you either loved him or hated him, glad to see a few more generations are ltfao listening to him.. personally i miss his genius and philosopher type views on society.
Makes me happy to see those younger than me discovering George. He was the grand master of thought. Pretty much the core of who I am is because of him and a lot of people don't like me because of it. Oh well. Keep discovering that which isn't the norm!
One of my favorite lines about humanity comes from a 1957 movie called the story of mankind, Vincent price say "mankind is both a charlton and a fool" and he is correct
George was the comedian of my teens. He was the older brother I never had.
George is and always will be THE BEST EVER !!!!
Obviously, 95% of everything coming out of his mouth would get you canceled now. And I'm sure some people may be genuinely offended. But if you're a Carlin fan it's fun to imagine how scandalous his response to being canceled would be. He would likely deliberately escalate the outrage aimed at him, and then critically analyze & expose how some of the loudest voices crying foul are actually insincere and making noise just to hear their own voice.
Before 1-hr photo finishing, or at least in small towns where we didn't have such places, you put your film in an envelope and MAILED it off. A month or so later your pictures came back and you could see how many were out of focus, had heads cut off or people cut out of the picture, or you just had your finger in the way of the lens when you snapped the pic. Too late now. So you usually took at least two pictures of everything, hoping that one of them would turn out decent.
I love this man.
Britt,
This man was super. super smart.!! So now that you have watched 11 minutes of the 17:00 total. I think George was/is the G.O.A.T. of stand-up comedy. Best EVER..... George treated everyone the same - like shit!!! Girl he got a reaction out of you.
It's wonderful seeing how much you enjoy George!!! I've been a fan since the late 70's!!!It's nice to see someone your age keeping George's Legacy alive!!!One last the I hope you don't mind me saying but You are so beautiful and fun I would love to be friends if that's OK with you!!!Well have a great week and may God bless you and your Family 😇
I think back in the day the excitement to have the photos that quickly was because you wanted to share them when people asked you about an event or vacation you just had. It was a lot more fun and dramatic to have the photos to prove how cool or beautiful it was while you were explaining it to them. You'd have to wait for the next time you saw them to pull out your vaca photo album. lol. I always used to scoff at how older generations will say, "things were better back in the day, simpler." But honestly, when it comes to things like that, I agree. I do like having the photos to show right away, but considering everything else that comes with it now, I would be willing to go back and deal with the wait. There's a lot of amazing and great things that come from our advanced tech now, but I really wonder if we're better off without it still. I know George would have a lot to say about this world. And I'm sure that he would still shock us with some deep truths that we weren't expecting. It's sad and ironic that a comedian is the one person I look to for truth instead of politicians and religious leaders- the people who swore to serve us and work in our best interest.
Love the George reactions! Keep them coming!
Once upon a time at Wendy's, you could build your own tacos. That was a nice touch, I thought.
YOU HAVE A GREAT SOUND SYSYTEM BRITT! 😊 WAY TO GO GIRL! 😊
As someone who grew up on "Thomas the Train", it was such a shock to watch my first George Carlin comedy show on TV and all of a sudden it clicked "THATS MR CONDUCTOR!!!"
When did the Tank Engine become the Train, or vice versa?
First time caller, long time listener. If you haven't already posted it, I suggest you watch GC's take on our similarities rather than our differences. It's a mind scrambler.
aww darling.. you are adorable... TY for doing this with us
You are so right. George would have a field day today.
Gawd! Imagine the material he would be putting out if he were still alive today! Btw @BrittReacts, 35mm film was the standard film in the 90's, which is when he did this routine. George died in 2009 from pancreatic cancer
Lol, I remember the salad bar at Wendy's also. Don't know why they got rid of it. I loved it! I would get that like 90 percent of the time I went there. And of course, it was all you can eat!
Hell, a lot of restaurants had a salad bar...I remember when Pizza Hut had a salad bar.
You should watch "War on Homelessness" by George Carlin.
Britt, I can tell you what George Carlin would say because that whirring noise that's been in the background for years is him spinning in his grave.
George passed away in June of 2008, if he was alive today he would have a field day with how society has "evolved" into what it has...
Hi, Britt :)
My friend in Canada hears voices in his head, but they never tell him to do anything dangerous. The worst thing he's ever done is strip naked and run down the hallway of his apartment at full speed. Dave is 6'1" and at the time he weighed 560 pounds... No that's not a mistake.
He was the most funniest comedian I think keep you laughing thanks for your reactions your awesome.❤️👍
I often wonder what George would think of today's culture as a whole. Gotta be worth a couple of new albums and a tour.
I love that you're watching these - Jammin in New York is probably my favorite - I was in high school!!
Hey, Britt. Love your comedy reactions. Would love to see what you think of "Women, Know Your Limits" by Harry Enfield. It's a very short skit from a TV show from the BBC in the 90s set as a PSA for females in the 1940s to not educate themselves. There's a whole bunch of them, but this one's the best. Cheers from Australia.
George a Legend. He would have had a field day with the present situations facing the USA.
I'm not sure there's another comedian that wouldn't put George on the Mt. Rushmore of comedy. He was an absolute juggernaut, and his material is only more and more relevant over time.
Would love to see you react to his "bad news" bit.
Yes, right next to Rodney Dangerfield.
@@dunhill1 Dangerfield was another comedic legend.
@@paulstewart11 Thank you Paul for acknowledging his incredible comedic ability and machine gun delivery. You couldn't ever heckle that guy as he'd immediately without a second hesitation put you in your place. I've never seen a comedian do that with such timing and finesse. Yes, one of the best ever. I can't wait till our beautiful reactor gets to Rodney material.
Thanks to a beautiful young lady, George is right on, from a life long Baptist raised 77 year old
There was no one like George. He had an awesome brain and command of the issues. I always thought the same thing...what would George say about things today if he was alive (he passed in 2008). He obviously would have a war against the Woke and Cancel Cultures and its possible he would have been cancelled.
Printed photos are used in court. Printed photos and writing in print are used as evidence in court. No matter what people think about paperless World, hard copies of things hold high value.
George Carlin is a Prophet!
The reason it takes so long for your friend to get his film developed and printed is because most labs are closed down and film has to be overnighted to the nearest lab that can be in another city.
Love this man Soo much.❤️🙏👍👌😁😉😇🇸🇪🍿📽️🍿🎥❤️
George always delivers.
As you seem to be soft spoken on this one, perhaps turning up your mic gain a little would help as your voice was quite low on this compared to the Carlin video.
The earring with the live baby would go back to "pissing off the Squares". 👍🏽😁
⭐️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 STANDING OVATION!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⭐️
I luv the Way you say. I Hope you have the day you deserve. There's a comedian uses the same.
Gerorge Carlin points out lots of issues in America that we in Europe har had thoughts about since Reagan. But as he said, the CEO's GOT YOU by The Balls. (Sorry for bad language).
Hi Britt, George Carlin has predicted the pandemic in one of his shows. Can't remember which one. I love George!
George died in 2008, so he just missed the smartphone madness we live in today.
But yeah, his take on a lot of things that happened in the past 16 years would be lovely to hear.
Hey mama 😂 love these George such a bad boy lol he bad
nearly everything of importance people need to learn in life, you can learn correctly from listening to George. RIP.
His daughter is worth a follow on Twitter
Idk if anyone else clarified this, but he died in 2008. Also you should check out his stuff on religion and euphemisms, they're hilarious.
George is the man!😂😂😂😂😂😂
you look so pretty😍😍
Absolute genius!!!😂😂😂
I’m going down the rabbit hole with you bc you’re so entertaining
Love it all. You are awesome. Great sport ❤️
i got to see him to do his thing in person best nite of my life
You are a delight to watch.
He won the Grammy for best comedy album class clown in 1972
Half of their lobby was a salad bar. I forgot about it too!!
Imagine way back in medieval times when you needed a dark room to develop photos.
He was imitating what wanna be cowboys walk like because their feet are not used to wearing boots.
22 June 2008 was the day he passed away - the day the world hit the point of no return, nothing been the same since
i dont think anyone is ready for what he would have to say about the modern world - rest well George
