Wow what a treat. I thought we had to wait until Sunday. Nice one John.
Thanks Star Wars Clips - a little midweek bonus video. Sunday's video is in the works
Looking forward to it mate.
Oh a midweek treat 😃
What a pleasant surprise! I can't believe the council back in the 1920's: "Oh we've got a medieval farmhouse over here, let's demolish it."
I know Mick, that's incredible
Fascinating history. Thank you John.
Thanks for watching Tim
Another hidden gem John..what a treat
Thanks Richard
Great video, John. I'm late to your walks but have really enjoyed catching up with them in large chunks! Big fan of Iain Sinclair & Nick Papadimitriou...I used to live in Mornington Crescent/Camden & am a singer/songwriter/poet planning a project based on London next year. I used to love walking all over London but have unfortunately lost a leg through diabetes & can't get about these days quite as well...your walks really bring back some good memories...I now live in Westcliff, Essex & just watched your estuary walk to Southend which made me smile...keep up the fabulous work, sir!
Great video of a place most of us had never heard of. What a hidden gem in a fascinating area with plenty of Tudor history in the surroundings.
Great little bonus John, thank you.
thanks Swoddy - had a lot of fun making this one
Another great history of waltham forest borough: Pimp Hall Park and Friday Hill.
A place of wonder. 👍
Thanks john Keep safe all 👍
cheers Dave
Another great video thank-you John😊👍

Thanks Candice - I’ve got a great walk for Sunday
Absolutely no idea this place existed. Great video.
An amazing place with a fascinating history. One of the hidden gems of Essex.
A wonderful video John .Thank you very much. So interesting
Enjoyed that John
Great video, the monkey and the ghost , weird, thanks John
Thanks a superb park and video I must have driven past many times without knowing it was there..
glad you enjoyed it Chris
Essex has so much history is there photos of the old farmhouse it will be interesting to see how it looked 👍👍👍👍
oh what a lovely surprise. A Thursday upload and such a charming subject too..thank you so much.
cheers Julie - glad you enjoyed it
Wow I used to live nr pimp hall park but never knew about the dove 🕊 cote thx 🙏🏽
very pleasant. hope you got home before rain.
Mmmmm, the Dovecote looked like a rather cosy space to regard the storm from. I could've happily sat in the shadows, watching the brooding sky and enjoying the thunder.
It was the perfect place to watch the rain Paul
I had absolutely no idea that the park was tucked away just of Friday Hill. The wonderful building on Simmons Lane at the end brings back memories of evening classes there for the radio amateurs license in there back in 1981. I think it was a LBWF community centre or something like that at the time. Looking forward to the next surprise destination John
That was a real treat on a wet afternoon. What a fascinating place and wonderful views. Thanks for showing us another hidden treasure.
my pleasure Anna - glad you enjoyed it
love the dramatic intro! very ealingish! or maybe more gainsboroughesque?
Great surprise and its not even Sunday yet, thanks for this interesting video !
A Thursday treat, thanks John.
Great job.
I live here great vid
Brilliant stuff. Weirdly, I'd planned to go to Pimp Hall Park yesterday but chickened out at the last minute (opting instead for a route with less potential for mud). Glad I did as I can now go there better informed. 🙂
Very interesting 👌
Surprise vid today. Fascinating history.
thanks Rob - a little extra video that I was commissioned to make
Great video. My friend 👏🌹💕
thanks Subuzac
Thanks and its not Sunday i love it :)
Excellent John. I will have to check this one out. Not too far from me. Bob.
Thanks Bob
A surprise video on a Thursday!! I hope we still get one on Sunday John (although you more than deserve a week off).
One place in Chingford to film is the Assembly Hall and Library before the council knocks it down. They are planning on replacing it with a tower block!! It will ruin Chingford, as it will lose its character and make it just like any other part of London, which would be a shame......... rant over, great video John 🤓👍
Just editing Sunday's video now Colin - it was a great walk. Let's hope the redevelopment of the Assembly Hall can be stopped
Have any of you guys listened to the audiobook version of John’s This Other London?
Yes......very good.....love audiobooks.....also good is John Higgs..."Watling Street".....and Robert McFarlane...."The Old Ways".
pimpin ain’t easy
