Visited Gothenburg on a whim a couple of years ago. I walked the city for a few days on my own and found it very peaceful, walkable city. I recommend a visit.
As a Dane, I'd say it's a fantastically underrated Swedish city. Kinda combines some of the best features of Malmö and Stockholm, if you ask me. And then there's the lovely trams of course (oh how I wish Copenhagen, or any Danish city for that matter, had also kept theirs...) In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's my favourite Swedish city, certainly of the bigger ones.
What would you rate it compared to Stockholm? I've been to Stockholm, but I wanna explore Gothenburg as well. Stockholm was beautiful, certainly much prettier than Oslo, and I say that as a Norwegian.
Okay! I am so happy that i see Gothenburg again after so menny years even from you tioub ! I visit this wonderful city back in 1983 ! My friend was working in a very old bic boat and the name of it was otta glus it was in the harbour like café bar restaurant! I am little bit sad i didn't see it! And the house i living it was very near from ulevi stadium of e. F c getenborg ! Eny way the video was wonderful and reminds me all my best memories ❤️ ! The city looks even better now and more attractive ! Love and kisses from Rhodes island in Greece! Thanks for your nice adventure my friend! I have a little tears in my eyes!
I want to visit there while I stay in Stockholm next summer .. get the train.. I am half Swedish so I need to do that..💜Thanks for sharing it's relaxing and I enjoy all the antural sounds and sites you show..
I work in Gothenburg. Sometimes I don't go straight home after work (I live about 70km from my workplace) but I take a detour to have a look around once in a while when the weather is good.
I live there. And all winter I wonder, Why am I here? As soon as the summer comes and everybody is on vacation and has the "Summer vibes" and the whole city enters its relaxed state I kn ow exactly why I live here
thank you wanderizm .this video is amazing , i will make sure that i will watch your every video ,keep on making amazing and beautiful video like this ,once again thanks alot
Thanks Wanderizm for keeping our travel bug alive . I was keen on knowing what Jazz track did you use for the first few minutes of intro ? It was quite inviting and refreshing.
If anything, driving is a hazzle in Gothenburg since they keep remaking the roads to be as efficient as possible. You're better off with a bike or just grab a public scooter.
@@amnofish Actually, make driving unappealing (compared to public transportation, biking, and walking) is a necessary step towards creating a livable city.
It's surprisingly hard to drive there, even though I have lived in the city and still visit it often and consider myself a good driver. Malmö is much easier to drive in, for instance.
I really loved this tour in Gothenburg 😊 especially the park by the lake and the last minutes with the sunset. 😊 Thank you! Enjoy the holidays that are coming! ☺️🎄🎅
I live here. I guess it's alright. But I'd rather live in Australia. The winters last forever here. Edit: I like this style video: You get just the sound and sites of the town, and it reminds me of the old style videos I've been watching on RUclips.
Im three months late so maybe you already know the answer but no its not a dangerous city and i'm pretty sure Malmö is more dangerous than Gothenburg. So, obviously crime does happen in Gothenburg (I mean its a major city, of course crime happens) but you don't need to look over your shoulder and be scared or anything. And when it comes to the crimes that do occur its mostly just pick-pocketing or someone stealing someone else's bike or laptop and stuff like that, you know; pretty harmless stuff. But keep these things in mind: If you find yourself in the shopping centre Nordstan, be extra aware of pick-pocketers. And don't go to the areas of Biskopsgården, Hammarkullen and Bergsjön unless you have to. Other than that, you should be fine... unless you decide to get blackout drunk at a bar and fight someone.
@@kristoffer-2614 thank you for your reply, fortunately you are not too late. Is Malmo really as dangerous as people tend to portray it? I’ve been offered a place to study on the university there and I don’t know whether it’s a good idea to take an advantage of it. May I ask if you have any information about both university of Gothenburg and Malmo University? I would appreciate any kind of help
@@ssh0ck138 While Malmö does have one of the highest crime and murder rates in the Nordic countries its not too bad compared to other cities in the world. And when it comes to the crime and violence, as far as i know, its mostly between rival gangs so you should be fine. If you have been offered a place at Malmö University than go for it. Just like Gothenburg there are areas of Malmö that should be avoided if possible, Rosengård being one of them, you know the deal; don’t leave your stuff somewhere or someone might steal it, watch out for pick-pocketers and so on. I currently study at Gothenburg University so i might be able to help… what information do you want/need?
@@kristoffer-2614 well, I’d like to know more about those areas to avoid, I’d actually have some more questions related to living in Sweden. About the uni, do you know by any chance, how many students participate in one programme eg international relations? How big are classes and what methods do they use to teach?
@@ssh0ck138 the Swedish police have a list of ”Vulnerable areas in Sweden”. These areas are no-go zones in all but name. In Gothenburg there are nine of them (Hisings Backa, Rannebergen, Biskopsgården, Bergsjön, Gårdsten, Hammarkullen, Hjällbo, Lövgärdet and Tynnered) Of these three; Biskopsgården, Bergsjön and Hammarkullen are the most well known ones and i think they are also the most dangerous ones, enter at your own risk. The common denominator for these places is that: 1) Its very diverse with people from all over the world. 2) there are a lot of boring, blocky, apartmentbuildings with no character and charm. 3) crime is high. Also; if you need the enter these areas; do it during daytime, i believe its safer that way. Biskopsgården is to the North West of the main Gothenburg city. Bergsjön is to the North East, north of the E20 highway on the outscirts of Gothenburg. Hammarkullen (and neighbouring Angered, another place to avoid because even though its not on the police list of Vulnerable areas its still not a great place to be) is not too far from Bergsjön. Now you roughly know where they are so you can avoid them. When it comes to university i’ve only taken individual courses but they have been between 10-20 students so im guessing the programmes are probably around 30 students, maybe more maybe less. The lessons i’ve had have been two hours long with a 15 minute break, this probably varies depending on the program/course. From what i can tell the programs are mostly around three years long, packed with essays, literature to read through, papers to wright and two hour seminars to listen to. Hope that answered some of your questions! Take care and happy easter! 🐣
This ls muc better thab stockholm, wide side walks with much prettier tiling, better main shopping street, less crowded, more greenery and more beautiful buildings (i don’t like the beige buildings of stockholm).
