"Aeterna is the big, epic opener of the album and it comes with this amazing video too, directed by Patric Ullaeus. It definitely sounds the closest to Epica and Ayreon, blending powerful Latin lyrics with a touch of an oriental feel. We’ve tried to strike a balance between the mighty, bombastic sounds and the more atmospheric parts.Since it’s the first track people will hear from this album, it’s super important to us and we’re really excited for people to hear it!
Aeterna takes the point of view of a star about to go supernova to explore how everything in the universe is interconnected, like a cosmic web made from stardust. It deals our deep emotions, consciousness and other mysteries of life that science still can’t fully explain. Essentially it’s a reflection on our place in the vast universe and the connections that bind us together, as we’re all, to quote Carl Sagan, “made of starstuff."

@@Divide_et_lmpera Yes he did! He certainly is a genius. It's officially stated that is a mutual project of Arjen and Simone. And for the first time I can hear Simone's vocals flourish on another level, that's why composer's work it's extremely important!
Btw, check out his other project with Dutch singer Anekke Van Giersbergen called: "The Gentle Storm" you will find similarities with this one.

OMFG this is way better than what I expected. At some moments, it sounds like those amazing Symphonic / "Gothic" Metal bands from the 90's, such as the golden days Tristania, The Sins Of Thy Beloved and Therion from Vovin era. What a blast!!! So proud of this goddess!!

Hey Arjen, now that you're working with Simone, I don't know if you recorded any guitars for the album, but you definitely could join her on a latin america tour, and come to Mexico.
I have a glimmer of hope that could happen, I mean, it's the closest we Latin American fans will get to seeing an Ayreon show live. Which by the way is something I dream of seeing one day, I'm filling the piggy bank to make that happen.

I'll buy this album on vinyl. If I'll like it or not I don't know yet(I did like this one, but it sounds like its part of a longer story so I defer judgement until I have the entire album), but I'll support Simone making more solo stuff. First, what a great song that gets even better the more often it is listend to. The growth of Simones voice is actually really impressive. Over the last years there are numerous breathtaking performances like "Rise again" in London or "Once upon a nightmare" in the Covid concert. I don`t know what it is it all sounds fuller, more versatile - it cuts deeper. We live in a time with so many amazing female vocalists but Simone has her place among the very best. Congrats both of you to this great collab, really looking forward what will be next - vinyl is preordered for sure.
