For a very long time, I have been looking for the explanation based on Panini ruling. And also for highlighting the authenticity of the Parampara, and the precision of recitation of Vedic Pandits as passed on to them through the Oral Tradition over the long corridors of time.
    Thank you so very much.😊❤

  • @prasadb8917

WRONG! Bhagini, you are wrong. It is braHma, NOT bramha.
Every word is vocalised in the order of its letters. NOWHERE in ashtadhyayi has Panini said it is OK to reverse the order of letters in a word for vocalisation. If such a massive change were correct, he would have mentioned it.
Let me put it simply: for you and your 'very learned scholars' to be correct, Maharishi Panini would have to be wrong. It should be obvious who will win that argument.
Your inability to vocalise hakara from the chest is, perhaps your physiological limitation. Sanjeev has given a very good explanation on his blog, which I am reproducing below. (His channel here is sanskritbhashabodha).
PS: Before we get to the blog, this example should make it blazingly clear. Someone in Ramayana said निद्रासनम् instead of इन्द्रासनम्. It is a reversal of two letters. Do you know what the results of that were?
Do you say prahlāda? Or pralhāda?

Some sAmpradAyikas quote a pANinIya-shixA verse in isolation to justify their traditional (ह्म →म्ह) pronunciation -
    > हकारं पञ्चमैर्युक्तम्
    > अन्तस्थाभिश्च संयुतम् ।
    > उरस्यं तं विजानीयात्
    > कण्ठयम् आहुर् असंयुतम् ॥
but this makes no such transposition recommendation.
On the contrary, a parallel verse in shaunaka shixA indicates that hm hn etc.. were pronounced exactly in that order:

So, correct tradition, as per shixA texts alone, is that in ह्म , h is lighter/ less emphasized.
    Others cite -
    तैत्तिरीय-प्रातिशाख्ये -
    > हकारान् +++(शाखान्तरे लोकप्रसिद्धप्रयोगे वा)+++ नणम-परान् नासिक्यम्॥२१.१४॥ +++(पूर्वं निपात्यते)+++
    > After h, when followed by n, ṇ, or m, is inserted nāsikya.
If this is not dismissed as a record of later practice, it is to be taken as being a compulsion specific to a particular vedic branch only.

Namaste. I grew up in Mysore city which is filled with Sanskrit scholars and my own mother is a Sanskrit scholar. She converses with me and my sister in Sanskrit from the time we started speaking till date. In the street that I grew up (mom's place) there are 5 Sanskrit scholars. So I was totally surrounded by Sanskrit in my growing years.

@@tattvam It is so unfortunate that I haven’t got an opportunity to speak Samskrutam as a native speaker though I grew up not very far from Mysore in the neighboring Andra Pradesh. I love the language and have great respect for people like you who have the knowledge of it. 🎉🙏🎉

      You can write this either
According to "International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration" as Kṛṣṇa
Or according to ISO 15919 as Kr̥ṣṇa
If have to put simply then krishna will be nearer to the actual pronunciation.

First of all, thanks for adding the topic that I'm looking for.
I came here after listening to songs from popular singers where I hear the sound "Mm" prior to "Ha".
Even after going through the video, I'm not able to convince myself about the pronounciation.
I belive that the scripts (writing) came after pronounciation (speaking). Why can't the scholars write in reverse if the pronounciation is really different.
And, just want to know exact meaning of second line in the verse.
I'm not telling which pronunciation is correct but just looking for more references in this context.
    Thanks.

This video is incorrect. There is no basis for claiming that because the ह is supposed to come from the chest that it therefore must come after the consonant, that does not logically follow at all. In reality, Panini proves otherwise if you read him carefully. According to his formulation of sandhi rules, a final म् has to become anusvara before an initial ह् and cannot be substituted with a nasal consonant. However, he takes note of a class of exceptions - when the hakara is itself followed by a consonant then the म् may instead become a consonant that is homogenous with that consonant. किम् + ह्न would ordinarily only be allowed to become किं ह्न but this exception allows किन्ह्न, same with किम् ह्ल becoming किल्ँ ह्ल. If these words starting with ह्न ह्ल ह्य etc. were in reality pronounced with the hakara coming after the consonant, then Panini would not have mentioned them as ह-initial words that had to be counted as exceptions to the ordinary sandhi rule. If they were actually न्ह ल्ह य्ह etc. then they would have perfectly fit the existing sandhi rules and no exception would need to be made. किम् न्ह could already become किन्न्ह by the normal rules. This proves they are in fact pronounced with the ह first, it is just made further in the chest but this can be done without reversing the order of the consonants.
