Being a jersey guy, I grew up fishing for fluke(flounder to others) on party boats, beaches, docks and rivers. My parents also had two boats(only one boat at a time. Sold first one and got another several years later) so I spent a ton of time fishing. Catching a 5 pound fluke was a huge deal there. Hell, the record was around 12 pounds...seeing these monster halibut really blows me away. They are basically the new jersey fluke, but a thousand times heavier...my god
An old measurement here in Shetland was every inch around the tail was about a stone in weight, ie 10 inches around the tail was a 10 stone fish! Great video guys.
@@robbiebanks9182 hey, theres still halibut around yes, not many fall to anglers though. Hear of the odd few every year got by charter boats and some small commercial jigging boats. The bigger whitefish boats get a few most weeks. My dream to get one on rod. Need to travel a good bit for that haha
@@burnyman Thanks for the reply ..I.m 60 years on this earth and can vaguely remember some Halibut been taken in scapa flow . Also leslie Moncrieffs fish of Velentia Island co Kerry .Quite close to me in Belfast Strangford lough in co Down used to produce huge Common Skate .unfortunately many off these great fish were killed for trophy shot then dumped .Also bout that time the trio from Scotland .led by a Doug Dinnie . came too the fore of the unbelievable cod to b had in the Scottish sea lochs especially the gantocks if i member rightly .Pity all this great fishing gone .Good luck with your quest for a Halibut
Great to see a fishing company putting the halibut back with the anglers enjoying the sport without having to kill everything. So many videos on here you see idiots taking everything that gets hooked up just because they can when there is no nee for it part from greed. We've all good a great future in fishing if everyone was a responsible as these guys.
Cracking fishing guys , well jealous, haven’t got the strength these days to even think about doing this, what depth are yous bringing these fish up from?
@ 5:25 + that guys pole was bent like an L bracket! I know his rod was pretty small for that type of fishing...but still... friggen nuts and makes catching that beast that much harder
conspiracies are just great stories the rods are small Because they are made for vertical boat fishing. But they are really strong and stiff. Takes a good fish to bend it like that 😁
FishingFreaks InCopenhagen rigtigt meget for en studerende som mig 😂😂 ca 8000 for hytte og fiskeri. 4000 for fly og dertil kommer så den dyre norske mad 😁 Men det er det hele værd
Check out my newest video from Lofoten! ruclips.net/video/hOT0ioZK50s/видео.html
You will never forget this adventure😊
super, tolle Fische und das auch mit Popper und Fliegenrute.
En af de fedeste videoer jeg har set om flynderfiskeri. Godt gået, gutter
Mange tak! Det var også den fedeste tur, jeg nogensinde har været på :)

Cheers Peter. Responsible fishing is very important these days. Luckily, alot more people are starting to realise this.
@Bard Erland We do eat a lot of the fish we catch. But we release the bigger ones (+130 cm) to ensure their good genes carry on.
great video lads
Cheers
Great fishing! I'm jealous and hello from Scotland!
Insane, from Scotland also, these days I struggle to pull a 6lb COD from the kelp never mind pulling these monsters up from the deep lol

Tusind tak for svar, jeg fisker kun i havnen og vil gerne prøve at opgradere fra skrubbe til helleflynder og torsk, er der nogle både du kan anbefale?
We are getting the plans fore a bote just like that and my dad and I are making it
WAY COOL ~~~~~~
where was this filmed? looks amazing!
An archipelago called Lofoten in the northern part of Norway :)
Yes I know the lofoten! But i mean the fishing center? Is this A?
Yeah its the very southern part of the Lofoten Islands. The exact location is Å. Nordic Sea Angling has a camp there.
You mean the scared eye of a halibut
For what are you Fishing if you dont want to eat the fish?
We eat some of them. But mostly we fish for the fun of it :)
Drunk Nordic you know when they caught one they scream could do with less of that .but cool video
Great fishing... Get rid of the stupid music
+That would be so much better without that annoying pounding music. Great vid otherwise.
Dean Cee agreed 😂
Totally agree. Shit music
