I'm a former Special Education Teacher and Behavior Specialist. I can tell you that about 76% of Teachers in America are white women. If your child is not sitting at their desk listening to lectures for 3 hrs, they will say your child has ADHD or behavior issues. I advise any parent to make sure you stand up for your child and do not fall for the diagnosis they want to place on your child. Get an independent review. The school will have a meeting before the IEP meeting so they are all on the same page to put that label on your child. Many white teachers do not know how to relate to brown children and label it as a disability.

I can never make amends for that .When my son was assaulted in 3rd grade by a teen highschool boy they did nothing.i call principle she said he is an honor roll stident she took no actions. I went to Louise Archer Elementary and in 6th grade we did a “Tableau” in homage to its history. I am thankful that her school is still running. I wish it will forever reflect her core values. I know it could have done better but I am still thankful because at least they didn’t deny its history.

During apartheid in South Africa 🇿🇦 Afrikaans was mostly used that’s why they had to kill kids in 1976 Soweto uprising because they wanted black kids to learn in Afrikaans which apartheid language and that’s why apartheid was doing well economically because language was in their favour. Even now in democratic South Africa English and Afrikaans speaking people are mostly successful people if not they stand a good chance to be successful and most kids who struggle in those two languages they find themselves in poverty or poor not that they are lazy or stupid. Our democracy in South Africa 🇿🇦 favours Afrikaans and English speaking citizens more than other citizens speaking 11 official languages.

I always have mixed feelings whenever I hear this man. Here he is at a Ramada Inn which is not Black owned discussing familiar grievances against a system that oppresses out community. This I would consider strike one! Next I have to ask why is he back here in the United States....wasn't he in Africa with his multiple wives? Another concern I have is that I have not seen or heard a clear comprehensive plan to solve the problems our community is facing on a daily basis.
None of those seem like honest intellectual grievances. For one, there’s a lack of black owned places you could gather at. Which means if you want to talk to a large amount of people, you’ll need to compromise and rent a spot from a white person. That’d be an okay compromise so long it’s not the long-term plan, which it isn’t (mind you this video is 9 years old). Secondly, I have no idea as your second point, he’s not married, he travels around the world yes, but his primary longings have always been in the U.S. Third, if you’d actually watched a great deal of his interviews, you would gotten a lot more answers in regards to what _you_ can do to relief the ailments of the black community on a daily basis. Of course, a comprehensive plan that would cover something as complex and broad as the entire black diaspora couldn’t possibly come from one individual. It’d be a huge undertaking. For the level of expectations and critique you’re putting on the man I sure do hope you are chiming in yourself.

Secondly, I have no idea as your second point, he’s not married, he travels around the world yes, but his primary longings have always been in the U.S. Third, if you’d actually watched a great deal of his interviews, you would gotten a lot more answers in regards to what _you_ can do to relief the ailments of the black community on a daily basis.
Of course, a comprehensive plan that would cover something as complex and broad as the entire black diaspora couldn’t possibly come from one individual. It’d be a huge undertaking.
For the level of expectations and critique you’re putting on the man I sure do hope you are chiming in yourself.
@@leonardoaskia4779You’re right. It’s very hard to belief people like OP are genuine, if they were they would’ve taken it upon themselves to inform themselves, and answer their questions. Certainly not post a comment like this whose primary intent seems to be casting doubt and mistrust onto Dr. Umar.
I really love what this brother had to say!! But 1 thing we must Stop Immediately amongst ourselves… When we have a perspective of the truth and/or a solution to our problems and another person or group has a different perspective we Should Never come on social media or to our plate-forms in front of their followers and badmouth one another… We should find the harmony with our perspectives and iron out the differences behind close doors… “Our unity is more power then an atomic bomb”, but being right, weak, and isolated with a small group does the enemy bid, because we are divided, “divide and conquer”… We will Never build up the strength through numbers to really produce permanent change for our people with unity as a whole… We are too individualistic and we must get out of the mindset!!
