More fishing the Skagit. Please include rod & reel info, and what goes into your lure/color selection based on river conditions. Thanks for the good content!
Happy we got 150 likes, this was a good video. I think this is one of my first videos of yours that I’ve seen in this vlog style. i think it would be a good idea for you to go live and set your camera down and film yourself fishing. I really have learned a lot from your content and don’t stop
Right on! I just tried coho fishing up in icicle creek.. but no luck they all look so dark and red and exhausted. I'm not sure what else is in store but how about ice fishing maybe or steelhead
Close! Haha but I wanted to show the real behind it. It was a grind that I was not feeling great about honestly. Twitch jig came in clutch in the bottom 9th lol. Thank the lord. Appreciate you watching!
Nice wild! As far as more video content I'll say the 360 camera angles made this enjoyable to watch! I definitely want to refine my twitching method so if you could do more videos on "colors" that produce and what weights for the water conditions that would be super helpful! Also on the spinners did you need to pop the tip to get them spinning after the cast? Or did they just start dancing, and how fast do these sink compared to a torpedo like r&b NFL or blue foxes?
The 360 cam is something I am trying to a lot more of. Works great on the boat. I really like how you can stay focused on the what you want and be able to capture it. Never miss a strike again. And definitely can work on that one. Yes I always pop the rod to make sure the blades are rolling on spinners
@@Annie-zf7xi a day earlier may have been all the difference with the way the weather turned. But got to fish when ya can, happy I capitalized on the bite! Thanks for watching
Great Video! Two video ideas: 1. Overview video about what winter fishing opportunities are out there in the Puget Sound Area, along with what gear you would use. 2. “Fishing with a Fan” video. Where you take one of your subscribers out and teach them how to fish. (Of course, I would like to be your first guest. 😊 Been fishing again for the past 12 months and still no salmon/steelhead yet. 😢)
@@HolyMolyOutdoors yeah, makes sense if you knew there was significantly different water nearby. Appreciate the longer adventure-style video, gave lots of insights and a more realistic picture of what it's like out there. Pity you didn't manage a fish on the RT, but at least you got a nice bonker for your efforts!
I think there are a couple factors from experience. Extra debris, sediment and flows put the fish not only on the move but seeking safe haven once they get to or near destination. They become more focused on optimizing the rise to reach there spawning grounds then hunkering down to pay attention to what’s around them. Not to say you couldn’t get a bite but it just becomes more having to find traveling lanes then staging fish. Thank you for watching and the support!
Honestly just a couple random pull offs I found on the highway. I was just looking to find spots that were not underwater at that point. Happen to find a couple good spots for future trips
More videos of you fishing!
I’m getting back into that groove again!
Awesome video! I'd like to see more videos like this in the future. It's neat how you can capture everything with the 360 camera!
I’ll definitely be doing more thank you! Yes that 360 camera gives almost a one man film crew and now no more missed angles

I can work on that! Thank you for the support!
That river system has been good to me this year! Always fun learning new rivers especially when you are successful.
It most definitely is! God was definitely good to me given these conditions
I would love to see continued Skagit River B run Coho videos..
@@jms4evr working on just that this week!
Hear the winter crabbing is good right now.
I have heard the same! I’m going to try and squeeze some footage in if I can

This was the first in that style. Appreciate your support and the idea!
I loved it sucks you didn’t get anything on the spinners but you got a nice one in I should try to buy one of those kit for myself
I love your videos. I really want to go squid fishing with you. I've really learned lots from your videos. Thanks 😁
Appreciate you watching and the support!!
Love to see some worm fishing.
Oh yes that will be coming!
Im probably heading out Friday and Saturday. Ill say hi if i see you out there

27 minutes into the video and i thought you were gonna get skunked😂. Nice catch
Tight lines!!!

Twitching jig to the rescue😅
Love your videos. How about squid fishing on a boat for the next episode.
If I can get a day where the weather lays down, would love to do that!
Love it!
@@solomonjacobsen8192 thanks for watching!
thanks for the video. I've had luck using the smaller size for stream trout, but have had an issue finding any sizes bigger than 3/8 here in wi.
Thanks for watching! If not local, online might be the best best for the larger sizes
More rockfish from the jetty!
That would be a fun one!

How about a video about fishing black mouths? You did one a long time ago and will be great to do more in depth video. Thanks
Ah yes one of my favorite fisheries. Definitely can do that one coming up this winter
More coho fishing videos on Skagit please.
I definitely can do that!
More videos with Roostertails and different lures comparison.
I have a big one coming once the last supplies show this week.
Come up to Canada and do some sturgeon fishing!
@@brennanyu8790 one of my favorites to catch! That would be so cool
@@HolyMolyOutdoors Hope to see you up here one day!
@ would be epic!
I like to see your best lures and tactics for steelhead
Definitely can do!
Why is there no single hook option on those Roostertails & add a hoochie to it? You could still say you caught it on a Roostertail.😅
Wow, that’s disappointing. I’ve had good luck on the blue and silver. Good on ya for switching lures and taking home a fish

8:15 but man that spot looks fishy.....i might have stayed too long and fished the entire stretch.....
What made you decide to pull anchor?
Just trying to cover water, I didn’t see too many in that spot roll and needed to find some frog water in hopes of getting a pod of fish pulling up

How much longer is the skagit late run gonna be around?
Through the end of the month they should be
Please share a link to that stringer hook. Thank you.

What is the reason for fish not biting on the rise? I hear it all the time but not the explanation. Thankd. Enjoy your content.

Bro, where on the skagit even is that? Is it about a mile below the Sauk confluence?

More of you fishing and more education about fishing
Lot’s of this coming!
Some techniques steelhead fishing
Definitely will here real soon!
Twitch jigs rule for coho..... More twitch jig videos
You got it! Lots of fish left on the drop!
Haha, blown out river, jig, success lol
Haha definitely not how I planned it. Fished those spinners hard where coho were rolling but of course the jig was the ticket in 1’ of water lol
More jigging videos.
@@rickbrown7067 I’ll definitely be squeezing in a few more outings and will focus on twitching

I got hooked on twitching, caught my first coho last week and heading back out today to twitch it up. Good luck.
I would love to hear more about where you are actually at. I have never liked the Rooter tails, but glad to see that my dislike is justified LOL
Haha! Well in all fairness the water rose up a foot while I fished. But I can understand all have their favorites. Lot’s of good spinners out there
