High surf warning in effect, massive waves expected in San Diego this weekend

- A high-surf and a coastal flood advisory will be in effect Friday through Monday at San Diego County beaches, with large breaking waves up to 12 feet and some expected minor flooding, forecasters said.
Both advisories will be in effect until 2 a.m. Monday and include warnings of dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, beach erosion and minor tidal overflow during morning high tides at low-lying coastal areas such as beach parking lots and walkways.

Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes, not inclement weather. The 3 ft walls are breached occasionally. It makes a mess, they clean it up, and get on with it. California is prone to mostly minor, inland earthquakes. Not like Japan, Indonesia, etc. "What if" you just relax.

I was born and raised in San Diego, as was my mother. I see the report from Mission Beach. I enjoyed the beaches in Summer. Last I looked at the calendar, it is Winter. No one goes in the water when it is below 60 degrees and cold out other than surfers in wet suits. (They are a bit daft for doing that, but to each their own.)
