Carlson should just get sponsors to start an entirely new chess organization. Change the time frames to shorter ones. They can then start a year long competition of the top twenty chess players to play 5 chess tournaments to pick the 2 highest scoring players that will then compete on the 6th and last tournament for the world championship. After that, do yearly candidates match and yearly championship match.

I hated Kasparov for his arrogance but still he was ready to behave as normal human, who has difficulty in accepting defeat but still played among humans. Now Kasparov looks more reasonable person infront of Magnus. Magnus thinks he has attend status of God, So God don't need title. Better he Leaves Mortal human to enjoy their achievements at human level with human feelings.
tbh for him the title dosent have much weight.. he has constantly won it several times with hardly any challenge most of the time.... for him these titles dont have tht weight anymore as there is no one to challenge him at his best...

Deserving world champions are not just because he/she is been here for a long time or because he is rated high. Rating points is one thing. But delivering your best when it matters the most is the real deal.

If Gukesh wants to be a legitimate world champion he will have to pull a “Karpov” as Karpov himself proved to the whole world after Fischer gave up his title, that Karpov himself was a legitimate world champion by winning tournaments so if Gukesh wants to a legitimate world champion he has to win a lot of tournaments in a row like Karpov did and defend his title in 2026 like Karpov did in 1978 agaisnt Korchnoi

When you don't turn up, you become irrelevant as far as the world championship is concerned - match play is a different beast to tournament chess, one must be an idiot to say that the world no.1 will definitely win the world championship. Tournaments are length and breadth if chess with some depth, while match play is focused length and breadth with a LOT of depth, match-play grinds the players a lot more.... This needs a different kind of mindset. Magnus knew someone will beat him from the current generation, so rather than losing it, he "walked away", like his mentor Garry Kasparov, he loves himself more than the game - disgraceful tricksters both of them

Gukesh is only leading bcoz pragg and vidit gave him a score of 0.5 and 1. They don't have the urge to beat gukesh because it will lower their chance to represent India in WCC. WCC 2024 is the best time to be world champion bcoz the defending champion is #22 in the rankings. #5 vs #22

@@miqdaddon5682he also lost 0-2 against Nepo as well. They were playing sudden death games, where a win or a loss decides the World Champion.

Im a magnus Fan but I think Gukesh is far better, giving the young age and the time to improve
12 tournaments won in 2024. Gukesh achievement in his lifetime is WCC w the help of 2 indians in candidates. The WCC blunder is the best? Haha
