      You piqued my interest, and inquiring minds want to know, Why were you told by Winn Dixie management that you'd never work for that company again? Maybe you've told the story before, but I've never come across it.

I can see why you are so good at what you do, you've always been a people person, in that you have a way talking to people, sharing your thoughts & ideas! God led you down this wonderful path to where you now are able to reach people all across the world, not just St. Cloud & Kissimmee.

    Like you, i'm unmarried with no kids, going on 40. From Florida and lived here my entire adult life. I worked a job i dedicated myself to for 12 years and they fired me on Sept 9th, 2011, because they said they didn't need me any longer. Just like that, i was thrown away like yesterday's newspaper. Ever since then, i've just worked odd jobs, not making very good money, trying to figure out wtf i'm gonna do for the 2nd half of my life. Hopefully i'll find my niche like you did, Adam.

    • @VLOGNOSIS
      @VLOGNOSIS 8 лет назад +2

      Tommy, your story sounds like mine (except replace sudden termination with something darker & more prolonged). 40's, single, no fam. Don't let "failure" stop you too soon. Just because a talent of yours isn't in demand right now, try another talent. Or try it later when the timing is right. I started a vlog back when RUclips didn't exist. Had I just stuck with it, I wouldn't be starting from scratch again here in 2016... but I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

    When you talk about making the mental change of sprouting out on your own and doing your own thing and leaving the feed store...not only is it inspirational, but I can just see reflections of your father ministering to people as you talk. At least that's how I feel. It's like you're talking to me. Nice job Adam. Keep up the great vlogs! You're sincerely a fundamental asset to RUclips my friend. :)

      @david pinto no need to be so vile in your speech. It is a private business and they do have the right to ask you not to do things in their store. Adam even said she was fine after they talked. He just chose to leave.

    This was fun to hear about all your jobs and how you've come to where you are now :) We all have the power to chose what we want to do in our lives, and no one is ever stuck in a job if you don't want to be. I've had a few crappy jobs in my short life. Right now I'm a secretary, and while I really like who I work for, it's mind numbing. I need to learn something daily, you know? and that's why I try to watch your vlogs every day because you always have something interesting to share :) I'm on my way to becoming a teacher so I can expand the minds of my kiddos every day and show them the world is much bigger than sitting at a desk for 8 hours haha

    I again want to thank you Adam for another great video. I have been working at Publix for 27 years now. The first store I worked at is also a gym now, too, that I am currently a member of. I went back behind my old store that's now a gym and saw the same lift that you had at your old Publix where the trucks backed up so we can unload them. I worked in the produce department and we would have a truck every and we would take the scissor lift up to the truck. I must admit it was pretty dangerous especially when it was raining and we didn't have much of a shelter to keep us dry and the scissor lift platform could get pretty slippery at times and a couple of people fell off it and got hurt over the years. I really enjoyed this cuz I can relate working in retail as you once did. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. By the way, now you have the best job in the world!!!

    This is my FAVORITE video!!! I haven't watched them all, heck probably not even very many, but this is my favorite. When I told you I wanted to pick your brain, these are some of the things I was hoping to hear. I am so glad that you were able to pave your own road, it is VERY inspiring and refreshing! My husband and I talk all the time about breaking out of the rat race and people look at us like we have 2 heads when we talk about retiring when we're 40 (from the traditional work force) and living debt free. I really appreciate you taking the time to make videos like these and give us a little more insight into what makes you tick, and how you make it work. I think we are in that phase like you were in those last few years at the feed store. I hope that if you're ever in my neck of the woods again that I can treat you to some cheese curds or a coffee, I just think you're a cool dude! :)

    Adam - how many of those jobs did you ever think "this is where I belong?" - I 'm guessing never - you present a really good case for trying to stay on a job for any extended period of time - everything changes - can you imagine walking in and filling out an application or finding a job in the paper these days??? Now it's weeks/months of applying online, endless interviews with on answers - thanks you for the history - it reminds me nothing lasts forever, never invest too much into a company and proof that "this too shall pass"...hopefully you have recovered from retail PTSD!!!...you always remind us to do what you can to follow your passion - still trying to figure my life out - making your own path is the only way - no one else will! We love you - keep it up! You're an inspiration!

    I love your comment about working so hard for someone else, and realizing you could do the same for yourself. I plan to do the same thing, but I have 29 years into a job and need 1 more to get pension so I have to tough it out for a while, then do things for myself for a while.

    Wow 14 years your senior and my work life is very similar. You definitely didn't fail at that, just succeeded in changing. And here I am now working for myself and my customers after so many years of meandering from job to job and returning to some. Work now, is like meditational therapy especially if it's outside 4 walls for me.

    Awesome video! I feel much the same. I went out on a limb in 2009 and haven't punched a clock since. I too have that drive and that work ethic. Video was great I think I will do that same tour of all my jobs over the last 25 years. I can see in your video, by doing that it helps show you what made you you and how each experience you learn from

    Adam, I've been a fan for about six months now. Watch your vlog every morning with my coffee. I believe in what you're doing, there are so many folks that want to travel and see all that this country has offer but can't due to job, family, disability ect... They can ride with you and get to experience it in a small way every day! God bless and stay safe. P.S. I drive truck all over the lower 48 I'll keep an eye out for you!
