Excellent footage as always. I think that the music is the key element that turns your videos to a journey for the mind and the soul.Extra batteries would have been helpful also!!!!!
I believe it so. One of the reasons that lead me to star shotting film in 2018 is that I live more the moments and don't get distracted with the technical side of digital. Thanks for making this videos and share your photos with us. I'm from Porto, Portugal and I already be surprise from so beautiful places that are so close to me.
Yes, I believe that the story is just as important particularly for landscape photography! I have stories for most of my images usually just the trip itself and what I felt seeing the image in my mind on location etc
For me the story is integral. Even with snapshots.... The reason I am subscribed to this channel is because of the excellent photography and your ability to weave stories throughout. Bravo.
I agree with Frank below. Especially in a social media age it seems there’s never even time to tell the story of your image. If you can capture an image of a story that’s compelling, but the story of an image is less so to non-photographers I feel. Loved the drone compositions
Thanks, Ben! I don't know, people who visited my exhibitions were very interested in how I made some of them. Of course, the ones with an interesting story behind became even more interesting. Probably hard to achieve on platforms like Instagram, but I still believe in that power of the story even with non-photographers :)
@@aows Oh I definitely agree in an exhibition when you can actually talk face-to-face with the photographer! Yeah, my comment was more about online posting
When people say,, "make your picture tell a story," I don't think they meant the sales pitch. But I'm very glad to see you thinking about the intangible surround of fine art landscape photography.
The story in the image is one thing, but the story behind the image can be even better :) There are many examples through history where an image only got "better" because of the story of how they were made.
Film photography creates story about the image, and story sells but not only. The film brings memories and it is a real time machine.I still remember conversation and situation about most om my film images from more than 30 years ago,but many times I was even surprised to see a digital image I shot few years ago. It looks like someone else took it and put it in my hard drive.Film gives life to image, imperfection of film creates questions and creates mystery and gives a splash of magic to each image, especially B&W film.
I would agree that having a story to tell is important to drawing someone in to an image or bringing them back to it. On a couple timelapses of the stars I have done in Nevada, I have great stories to tell about how peaceful, isolated, and awe inspiring it was all at the same time. And the trips. And telling the story allows me to share more of myself and my experience with others
I agree that a good story behind an image can definitely make it have more of an artistic value. Also believe a great image will tell that story through the photo. Loved this video, that drone footage had me drooling haha can't wait for the next!
aows i just got mine last week and its ideal for landscape specially the revolving back. I think its much better than the RZ for landscape. RB is all mechanic, no batteries required. Plus, the price of the RZ is astronomical compare to last year. I can lend you my rb if your in town. Hehe.
Oooh, I'd love to have a mechanical camera. That's very nice. New York? I might be over there in July, plans might change but I will be in the US for a few months and want to visit the city on our way back to Europe. How come I didn't know about your channel? Just subscribed :)
What happened to you in this video was any serious photographer's nightmare up until late 70's, when they finally embraced batteries. Mid 80's I had a miss hap with "latest and greatest" autofocus camera, when batteries inside the camera got frozen and died. I switched gears so to say, I sold that camera, and for a whole coming decade worked exclusively with completely mechanical, battery independent cameras...
Frankly I think the story only matters to other photographers (most of the time). Most (non photographer) people have never heard the Ansel Adams story about Moon.
That's a very good point. While true, I think that it's also those photographers (or people with expertise in photography) that made that image famous.
aows it is an interesting chicken and egg discussion. Ansel is widely regarded as the first “star” photographer whose work was popular outside the art community. Did the stories popularize the art or vice versa?
I believe that the story behind the image can make it more compelling. What do you think?

it does. It's about time, after all. A single moment does not exist, as opposed to what photography seems to be suggesting as a medium itself.
Yes, I believe that the story is just as important particularly for landscape photography! I have stories for most of my images usually just the trip itself and what I felt seeing the image in my mind on location etc
I totally agree, the music is very important. Thanks for watching! Yes, I just got new batteries... and spare ones :P
For me the story is integral. Even with snapshots.... The reason I am subscribed to this channel is because of the excellent photography and your ability to weave stories throughout. Bravo.
Thank you, Adam!!!
Music and landscape magical📷
Thank you! Glad you liked it :)
aows no problem man. Looking forward to your next vids👌🏻

I can relate to that, I believe I've had the same feeling before. Thanks for sharing!
Getting back to film let me know more about people like you with a lot of good work, more then folks out there talking about gear coming every year.
Your content is a treat to watch
Thank you, glad you like it :)

That's right! Even though I don't know the details, I can only imagine how amazing those moments were!

Thanks, glad you liked it! It's a beautiful place and even though I don't fly the drone that often, I couldn't resist this time :)
Amazing Scenery
It really is!
... I love that background music.
I like it too :) Thanks for watching!
great video. Love watching your stuff. Please keep uploading!
Thanks, Nik! I will :)
I get a personal conection to my film photos and even a imperfect film exposure for me is more valuable imo
Hello, If you are ever into buying another camera I think you should consider a Mamiya RB67. Great for landscare but does not break the bank.
That looks like an amazing camera, but also a beast! Not sure how heavy it is. I'd love to try it one day :)

aows nice! Im in California Just update me if your in town.
And like for the new Samyang lens ;.)
It's a very nice, small and compact lens :)
Very cinematic! Can you share some information about the background music?
Sure, it's Medieval Myths 8 by Andreas Ericson. Thanks for watching!
Photography is all about storytelling.
Agreed :)

Yes, I really thought these cameras would default to 1/500 speed with no batteries, but it looks like they just don't work. That's a bummer.
