This scene happened to me at the Longwythe Motel (rest area). You have to stay there (it costs 300 gil) and then you'll see this dialogue. I think you can also unlock it by staying at the motel in Taelpar rest area.

I didnt choose the "act unsurprised" option because I thought it would be a dick option. Turns out, it shows Noctis knows exactly what Prompto feels like. These two are the best of friends.

Wish he realized how wanted he is on the team. Yes they are all friends now, the best of. But the origin of Gladiolus and Ignis is out of duty to the crown. Glad, was originally forced to train Noct, and he was to be Noct's shield, as his father was Regis. He didn't even liked Noct at first, until Noct took the blame to cover for Iris, getting grounded. As for Ignis, he was raised to be Noctis royal adviser since he was 6. SIX! I mean seriously! So although in the end they did became grate friends, they were given to Noctis. Reality is that even if, hypothetically speaking, they hadn't bonded as well. As long as they were true to their duty, they would still be with him, as his bodyguard/trainer and servant/adviser. Good thing they DID became friends.
Prompto is another story. Although yes, Luna did ask him to befriend Noct. They became friends because they clicked. It wasn't forced or anything. So unlike the others, Promto is basically the only one that Noctis choosed for the trip "just because" they were friends. He barely just finished his training on self defense and got the uniform (Crownsguard) just the day before the trip. He was selected for no more reason, no servant/adviser/bodyguard/pt, just because Noct wanted him there, as a friend. And the support he provide to the team is a lot more than even the entire team realize.
Prompto is my favorite character of the team. I don't usually like the character that some people consider the "comic relief" but Prompto is more than that. He is the heart and soul of the team. The very sexy yet adorable heart and soul of the team.

You've spoken my mind there! Prompto is such a beautiful character on so many levels. I still remember him helping Ignis and feeling uneasy when Gladio and Noct where "fighting" T_T Our baby is pure Bliss!

When I first saw prompto, we instantly connected.
Every thing he went through, both emotionally, and physically. I was so happy when his DLC came out. The turmoil he went through, trying to get out of that depressive state after what happened...
This is why I love FF. They capture their characters, so well.

Personal Fave: Small Talk, Urge, Unsurprised. It’s a good inspiring pep talk to him. It also shows Promto that Noct pays attention to him and knows how he feels.

From a non-Naruto watcher looking into this "friendship", it seems to me that Sasuke keeps screwing over Naruto but Naruto keeps trying to give him chances. Seems dumb so that's why I don't watch it.

I thought "act unsurprised" would be an option like scalding him, but it's actually the best choice out of these, if you were able to say something like that to someone in this spot it would actually make them feel a lot better, they might not completely get over it, that's an inner battle, but it would definitely make someone feel more comfortable about themselves for a few months if not more, with some people that's all they need, just someone to say what they're thinking for them it helps a lot, Noct might not have suffered any mental downs himself but that answer is something someone with experience would respond with.
Since I've found out about that choice I've always picked it, it's my favourite.
i need a to know what happens if you say ''Not really'' when you save Prompto in chapter 13

I'm so mad because on that last dialogue choice I picked tease thinking he'd say something and then say oh no, kidding! But instead he said "no, try harder." And prompto just leaves...like wtf that's not teasing. Chastise gave a better results and I never thought that would be the case...and I hadn't saved it in a long time so I couldn't restart :(

I think the best answers were when Noctis says something a little harsh but follows it up with something touching. Maybe they're trying to point out their relationship a bit more that way. They're best friends but they're guys. A heart to heart is probably highly embarrassing. So, they still call each other (or themselves) names but still get the message across: I love you, man, no homo (lol).
(And in the words of Little Kuriboh, "All the homo!" ;)

Prompto moved from my least to my most favorite bro with this scene. Before this I only saw him as the annoying comic relief character, but this one interaction was all it took to flesh him out and give him depth. You can't hate him after hearing him out.
Prompto is the most wholesome and relatable character in the game IMO. What a bro.
