Hi Mel, I didn’t know you could not wear guilloché in the shower? I have worn my guilloché pieces in the shower many of times and nothing happened to them 😉.
What a stunning collection! You look lovely in those pieces. I only have one Alhambra necklace. Mother of pearl. I have worn it every day since 2018! Never removed it. It still looks terrific. The sales associate told me they can easily replace the stones and it’s only a few hundred dollars. That gave me peace of mind to wear it constantly. Hope this helps someone else who is considering.

Agreed! The thing is they spend a lot of time filming videos and editing them. It makes sense that, at some point, they wanna make money. This is free content after all and we can skip the product placements (thanks God 😅)
No one really likes commercials or ads either, but making videos is a lot of work and includes planning, editing and monetary investment for cameras and merchandise. You Tubers are creating content for our free entertainment and they deserve to get paid just like any other job.
I personally don’t get why everyone wants to wear jewellery that everyone else is wearing. There’s so many jewellery brands out there and unique designs. Those Alhambra items are everywhere.
Well some of us have been wearing VC&A for over 15 years before social media made Alhambra popular. Everyone is also wearing Cartier designs, doesn’t make them any less beautiful or desirable.
Feel free to recommend some fine jewelry brands for others to check out :) I’m always on the look out for some new jewelry too (it doesn’t have to be branded). I’ve always love VCA since 20 years ago but only was able to afford it in my mid 30’s. I totally understand that it’s not for everyone as the Alhambra range is very popular. i've wearing my MOP earrings n necklace in the pool n showers 24/7 for months i can see the earrings got more faded ✨ then necklace maybe i've used purple shampoo is a lit bit stronger then regular shampoo. i've used bodywash n hot water n perfume 😂 mine is looking fine .
I’ve been wearing my guilloche bracelet and pendant in the shower (not all the time) but occasionally for a few years -I see no significant wear. Love your collection, Mel!

Heehee, i am actually wearing an Idyl necklace to pair with VCA vintage gold Alhambra, which i wear 24/7. Was thinking about the bracelet but it’s a bit too large on me, SA recommend to clip it like a 4 motif and hang one down but i believe that one motif will die with scratches in 3sec 😅😅

I have VCA Alhambra earrings in lapis lazuli (were a gift to my mom in the 1980s) and would LOVE to add a bracelet and/or necklace. Just can’t understand why they don’t make them in lapis anymore. It’s GORGEOUS. Going to have to go pre-loved unfortunately…

I've been wanting to add an onyx or a tiger's eye. 🖤 This was so helpful to see the chart and price comparisons too. I always did find the bracelet to be a better offer cause if you get two, you can link them together and create a necklace out of it. ☺️

I Find the white and black stones gets more wear for my style and clothing choices. Next piece I’ll venture out for carnelian or tiger eye 10 motif necklace but hard to acquire here 🇨🇦🇨🇦

I'm an earring person, so I'd opt for the 3 motifs earrings in onyx or lapis lazuli (by the way, you didn't tell us how much lapis lazuli costs...), but my favorite pieces in your collection are the necklace and the pendants. However, I personally am not in favor of lab grown diamonds, I'm sorry, but they're not for me, but everyone is free to choose what they prefer.
I love Van Cleef @Mel in Melbourne, and loveeeee your collection it is a dream! I am growing mine slowly but surely 😅. My favorite line is the Alhambra, and my favorite stones are the MOP for the elegance and feminine look, and the blue agate for how fun and bright it looks on. Love guilloché pieces in YG and the ones I would love to add next are first Onyx just because it goes with a lot in my wardrobe and is one of my zodiac sign’s stone and Malachite in earrings and a ring ❤. The chalcedony stone is beautiful but I often see that it washes out of certain skin tones and I no longer wear white gold, I prefer YG.

No I don’t use water or soap lovely. I just use the black polishing cloth provided by VCA to clean my pieces each time I wear them. If I need it more thoroughly cleaned I will take them to VCA but so far I haven’t need to Xx

When I unboxed my holiday pendants I do share the price. It changes every year as VCA has about 2 prices increases a year and also what stone it’s offered in. It does cost more than regular single pendant as it has a small diamond so at least $500 - $800 more x
The 2 motif’s I can wear all day and don’t find heavy. The 3 motif’s are a little heavier and if you aren’t used to heavier earrings it would you may find them a bit heavy. I wore my 3 motif the other day for a few hours and I was fine. I hope that helps Xx

Those earrings are absolutely stunning. Perfect addition to your collection! My mom and I got matching sweet butterfly MOP bracelets as a symbol of my grandmother and I find the clasp harder to undo than my Alhambra pieces, so I’ve left it on for almost 3 years now. (I want to think of her around me all the time, so I made the decision to leave it on permanently, good or bad) The finish is slightly more matte than before, but it still looks beautiful. While delicate, I’ve found VCA quality to be fantastic so I’m not too afraid to wear them and enjoy them 🤍

I wear my carnelian bracelet in the shower for years and its still the same. No scratches as well nor discoloration. It is indeed durable.

Stunning and expansive collection you've curated for yourself. I'm super envious that you have the pink and blue stone pendant. I've been wanting to add an onyx or a tiger's eye. 🖤 This was so helpful to see the chart and price comparisons too. I always did find the bracelet to be a better offer cause if you get two, you can link them together and create a necklace out of it. ☺️

I Find the white and black stones gets more wear for my style and clothing choices. Next piece I’ll venture out for carnelian or tiger eye 10 motif necklace but hard to acquire here 🇨🇦🇨🇦

I'm an earring person, so I'd opt for the 3 motifs earrings in onyx or lapis lazuli (by the way, you didn't tell us how much lapis lazuli costs...), but my favorite pieces in your collection are the necklace and the pendants. However, I personally am not in favor of lab grown diamonds, I'm sorry, but they're not for me, but everyone is free to choose what they prefer.

I love Van Cleef @Mel in Melbourne, and loveeeee your collection it is a dream! I am growing mine slowly but surely 😅. My favorite line is the Alhambra, and my favorite stones are the MOP for the elegance and feminine look, and the blue agate for how fun and bright it looks on. Love guilloché pieces in YG and the ones I would love to add next are first Onyx just because it goes with a lot in my wardrobe and is one of my zodiac sign’s stone and Malachite in earrings and a ring ❤. The chalcedony stone is beautiful but I often see that it washes out of certain skin tones and I no longer wear white gold, I prefer YG.

How do you maintain
Do you use water and soap to rinse your jewellery? Or just don’t wash?
No I don’t use water or soap lovely. I just use the black polishing cloth provided by VCA to clean my pieces each time I wear them. If I need it more thoroughly cleaned I will take them to VCA but so far I haven’t need to Xx

Funny, I have a ring that is blue chalcedony, 18k yg and diamonds. A gorgeous combination! I don’t particularly like the blue with white gold.

Would be good to know the prices for the holiday pendants.
When I unboxed my holiday pendants I do share the price. It changes every year as VCA has about 2 prices increases a year and also what stone it’s offered in. It does cost more than regular single pendant as it has a small diamond so at least $500 - $800 more x

are the 2-3 motif earrings heavy?
The 2 motif’s I can wear all day and don’t find heavy. The 3 motif’s are a little heavier and if you aren’t used to heavier earrings it would you may find them a bit heavy. I wore my 3 motif the other day for a few hours and I was fine. I hope that helps Xx

My mom and I got matching sweet butterfly MOP bracelets as a symbol of my grandmother and I find the clasp harder to undo than my Alhambra pieces, so I’ve left it on for almost 3 years now. (I want to think of her around me all the time, so I made the decision to leave it on permanently, good or bad) The finish is slightly more matte than before, but it still looks beautiful. While delicate, I’ve found VCA quality to be fantastic so I’m not too afraid to wear them and enjoy them 🤍
