On the new Versys 1000 they change direction of synchronization screw and you can adjust it from top of airbox. But we need to remove the injectors to get to the hoses.
@MotoAndy: thnx for sharing this educational video. For me, this is way too complicated to do it myself. Just have to let this done by a pro. But I wonder, why do you have to synchronize and how do you notice when it’s not done? Loss in power, bad throttle response, or what else? I’m not a mechanic, and this doesn’t seem like a job that every biker needs to know and can do (like adjusting your chain ;)). Keep on going, learning a lot from your videos!
the manufacturer recommends checking every 12,000 km and if necessary, it must be synchronized. At the moment I have 24 thousand km done and the deviation was small, but I set it up. With small deviations from the norm, the difference is not noticeable, so it is only a matter of maintaining the motorcycle in good technical condition.
Top video Andy, appreciated as always. I'll be doing this very shortly. Getting onto the adjuster screws for the TB's looks like a right pain so congrats on your improvisation. Having done it...what would you say is the best tool to go for ? The genuine Kawasaki driver looks like about £80 ....gulp. Was that an aftermarket one that fell apart on you and was that just pure bad luck / timing ? Do they have some kind of twist mechanism or just simple crank? Would really appreciate your experience. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, you need this one www.motorcorner.nl/bevel-90-graden-haakse-schroevendraaier-voor-motorfietsen.html the one I used was the cheapest spring-loaded screwdriver, do not make this same mistake 😉 cheers
Hey Andy! Another great video - Thank you Sir! QQ - How did you know which cylinders to adjust? Do you lower all to the cylinder with the smallest value or raise all to the cylinder with the highest value, or setting all cylinders to a defined value?
you make such good videos for the Versys. The two electrical connectors on the tank what do thye do, I fitted a new air filter and i screwed them back in place but wasnt sure what happens to the other side, wheni disconnected they just seemed loose. Around 12.12 in your vid
Awesome tutorial as ever Andy. Thanks for going to the effort that you do especially as the job itself looks a right pain in the xxxx. I have this coming up next service and will likely tackle it myself. Did you notice any difference in running afterwards, and could you let us know the detail of the vac gauge device ? More generally do you follow the Kawasaki service schedule religiously? Iridium Spark plugs every 7500 for example seems OTT...every 32K if I remember rightly on my last bike VFR800...similar with air filter. Most important...still enjoying the Versys....no urge for a change ? Cheers ...Paul
Thanks Paul. Hi Andy. Quick note of thanks. Finished my 7.5K service this week. Your steer on the carbtune and bevel driver were blob on. Both worked a treat. You wouldn't believe how much mileage I got out of your fairing strip and reinstall vid. Manuals are by far inferior to your guide. Great job you do with these tutorials. Cheers again Paul
it's not much less, I don't think it made any difference, I didn't feel the difference while riding, besides, it usually synchronizes to the first cylinder, which was factory-set to about 280, so I don`t really know of it have to be 305.
@@hidemichiXT You don't have to force it, it is recommended to check by the manufacturer every 12 thousand. km. At the moment I have almost 24,000 and I did it for the first time.

Nice video, shame about the screwdriver failure. About to do this job on my Z1000 with the same engine so thanks you for sharing!

Very informative.... salute!... keep it coming😎
Impec... Andy c'est quand même pas évident à faire merci pour ce partage
Спасибо 👍
Muy bien, gracias 👍
Why reattach the airbox to do the regulation? Usually you don't have to
So why you did 28cmhg if specification says 305+-10 mmhg so its 30.5cmhg ??? Its les then specification you haw to feel vibration on your bike .

Where do I get a machine or tool like that?
The synchronization tool
Andy, at what mileage did you do the synchronization?

Thx.🙂 I'm not sure what they are, but they certainly have nothing to do with the air filter, they are simply hung there on the bracket
MotoAndy thanks. They don’t even get a mention in the Haynes manual.

Sehr interessante Videos. Mach bitte weiter so. Wenn du mal an Rosenheim vorbei kommst, melde dich. 😉

nice, but it got un-synchronized?
The standard vacuum should be 305 +, - 10 mmHg according to the manual. You have 280 mmHg after adjustment. That is not bad? Too little?
