The Volkswagen Touareg is one of the most versatile cars out there the gen 1 or the 7L and some of the gen 2 or the 7P has a low range transfer case and locking diffs which makes it equally capable off and on road. You could tackle some serious terrains and then do highway speeds or even autobahn speeds effortlessly. But then it wasn't recieved quite as well as it's sibling the Porsche Cayenne which shared quite a few bits just because of the Volkswagen badge. Speaking of, the Volkswagen Phaeton is another underrated car. One of the most opulent and comfortable cars when it was launched it was a capable car. Up until it was discontinued, it really was the underdog and I'm sure you guys know of it too. 😃
The Honda Accord V6 is still more powerful than the current entry level BMWs and Audis in India as well as all the octavia RS es; and a really reliable car at the same time. Such a shame it didn't do well
As you said the list is too big actually. 1) Fiat Palio 1.6 2) Fiat Punto and Abarth. 3) Cruze 4) Ford Fiesta 5) Honda CRV 6) Tata Nano The list can go on.
Nice ....Well made list .Some model additions - Punto Abarth, Fiat Siena 1.6 , Fiat Siena Weekend/ Adventure 1.6, Mitsubishi Cedia, Tata Hexa , S cross 1.6 diesel, Toyota Yaris.
Hi guys what about TATA ARIA/HEXA? It was the first car developed with JLR involvement and it was a beautiful car capable of mild off roading along with being a ppl carrier. I still feel it never got the attention it deserved.
My father had standard herald in late 80's in blue colour. Wonderful petrol engine it had. Totally silent as my dad told me. Still have pictures of the car.
And don't know why they didn't mention Fiat cars especially Abarth - the hatch back.. super power, super torque and great handling. One of the best in the hatch back segments that time made.
Volkswagen jetta is also a underrated car. It had great build quality, great handling and great set of engines. Tata zest, ford figo, fiat punto abarth and Fiat palio is also a underrated car. Tata zest was a first compact sedan to get a turbocharged petrol engine. Fiat punto abarth what a gem of a engine. Ride and handling was just next level. Even renault duster awd. Duster sold well but most of the people purchased 85 ps version. Duster awd had a independent rear suspension and its ride and handling was even better than the standard 2wd duster and awd had 5 mm more ground clearance and it could tackle bad roads better than standard 2wd
It's a really good video, almost reminded me of conversation street from grand tour ;) This could go a long way, we can spend some more minutes into talking about these cars, coz let's face it who wouldn't like to hear it ;)
Was looking at used V6 a while back and had these three options. Skoda had a VR6, narrow angle V, having owned a different car with similar engine, it can be difficult to maintain without the right resources. Honda V6 is reliable and straight pipe can give you a wonderful exhaust.
May be back in the days, car enthusiasts were not much. But today's generation has it. Like skoda throws VRs 245. And it sold old within couple of hours
man someone finally gave some props to the V40. its such an underrated car and if people pay for hatch's like mini cooper , its also a better choice. The V40 has been my favourite ever since and the Volvo s60 T6 engine [supercharged petrol] is super rare and under mentioned in India. adding to this list would be ; Alturas G4, Skoda Yeti, Audi A7 , Teana by Nissan[v6]. the Accord V6 is a gem and also add Sonata 2.4 [2012-15] version to this list.
Kizashi looks super cool. I was a kid when it was launched but I was mesmerized by the way it looked. I still fall in love with it again when I see it in roads.
Goosebumps! You brought back the 90s and early 00s flashing back. We read these stories cover to cover. Ford Mondeo surely missed India big time. It was a great car, way ahead of time, and what design! Keep doing more such car talks 👍🏻
Yeah. Exactly. They had the best Engine tuning and suspensions. They were very far ahead in compared with any other car manufacturers of India. But they were not affordable to people at that time. Most of them went to the enthusiast category.
I always thought Chevrolet Optra SRV was such a underrated car. It was way ahead of it's time. A proper performance hatch. Overpricing, low mileage and some reliability issues killed it. That car should have been in this list. And it looked killer too.
Ig fiat adventure deserved a place. It had one of the best engines ever curning out a 110hp in 2004 which was almost unheard of off. It was again plagued service availability and the estate/station wagon-phobia of India
Tata Sierra !! A car which came way ahead of time !!!!!!! Would give the modern SUVs a run for their money. Tata Estate is worth mentioning as well but Sierra was a beast !
S cross , amazing engine , tonnes of space and superior refinement . But the ‘estate jinx’ …. We Indians like the Oomph of a ‘lambi gaadi’, estate looks like ‘kheecha hua hatchback’

Chevrolet Cruze. One of the most underrated car when it launched.
Oh yes! A very good car!
& chevy optra magnum
No comparison. It was love ❣️
And even it's siblings cheverlot optra Magnum 2.0
It was popular. Not underrated.
I thought it was just me who thought these were underrated. Even now, when I see Kizashi and Mondeo on roads, I think, that's such a cool car.
Such cool cars!
Indians aren't bother abt usage of sedans
which roads are you brother... we ain't seeing em anywheree
Same here bro, I also find Kizashi and Mondeo very exciting whenever I see them on roads 👍
@@RishiKalantri Gurgaon, I see a few Kizashi here n there.

Great one. Missed the Cedia, Teana, Terracan and 1.6 superhot hatches such as palio and polo.
Good cars those!
Cedia was such a failure, even teana had a lot of emission probs!
@@mayav7572 cedia was fun to drive. It was 2.0L petrol and teana was best in comfort. However I agree they failed because of the brands
The Nissan Xtrail was one of my favorites💕
@@driverx3344 Lancer had better handling than Cedia!!
7:11 That isn't the V6 Grand Vitara! This one had the 2.4L 4 cylinder.
The V6 one was the 2003 Grand Vitara XL7
True LOL these kids know nothing 🤣🤣they were probably riding cycles back then
Skoda yeti is one as well ! I still drive one and it’s the best car ever ! Better than superb,gla,x3 (other cars I have)
Good car that!
My dad has a 2009 Hyundai Getz. Still runs like new, has a solid build, and is muchhh more spacious than new age hatchbacks
fiat : Abarth 😄
One the most great engine / looks / handling / reliability
Absolutely even skoda & VW couldn't match it although I own VW
Fiat is a company. Abarth is a company. I think you forgot to mention the car name. Fiat Abarth Punto I assume.
Great engine?...yes.
Looks, handling and reliability?...meh..

It is not underrated. Everyone loves Lancers.

Optra SRV. Man it feels straight out of an NFS game
I can stare at the rear portion of that car for days..hats off to Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Such a pity that no one …even the car reviewer…does not remembers it!!!!

Fiat Punto and Fiat Abarth Punto, both of these where excellent cars, but never got the recognition they deserved.

Fiat Punto, Ford Fiesta, Tata Aria, Chevrolet Cruze, VW Polo, Linea, Yeti, Nissan Micra........
Daewoo Cielo. It had just the appropriate lines that kind of evolved into the civic from 2010.
Ranauk is back after a long time
