Information incorrect. He did not fall overboard performing maintenance. We were on the ship, and we're informed that sadly, he jumped. How sad for him and for his family.
Just confirmed the person was not on duty when they went over so it wasn't an accident. Its a very sad situation I pray for thier family. I didn't believe it was an accident became we were in the middle of the 0cean.I have never saw crew washing windows while we are at sea heading home.
Thanks Doug for the report. The family of the passenger that died on Navigator of the Seas will probably file a suit. I wonder what sedative they used to get that man into a state of control. Also wonder if he had some sort of cardio pre-existing condition that the sedative exacerbated. This story is long from over.
When that occurs in law enforcement it is known as an "in custody death". Some times it can be "positional asphyxiation", especially with someone overweight. Usually it is from what the suspect has self-induced by drugs and/or alcohol, then the added stress of the altercation causes the death. In law enforcement they cannot use medication/drugs to calm a suspect down. I would be surprised if they did on the ship, BUT, they do have doctors onboard who may have thought it was a good idea. No doubt they will get sued, even though the suspect brought it on themselves.
I was on vision of the seas when the crew member went over board yesterday… it’s very sad but he was not on duty and was not doing maintenance on the ship that’s all I am saying until the full official report is released so please don’t spread incorrect information
Yup - same. So sad! And no way that was accidental. But I don't fault this guy for reporting what he did, because that's what the news media is being told.
I’ve gotten 10 tip line emails from people on board. And every one of them is different has a different version of the story. I’m still waiting for Royal Caribbean’s official response.
Good morning, Doug! Sort of surprised the crew member didn't have a safety tether while washing the windows? Very tragic! I'm thinking P&O will altogether be absorbed into the Carnival fleet at some point, not just Australia.
Seems like some people never get the idea of just what a cruise is...obviously bringing with them their land lubbing ways and traits...unfortunately for many seasoned cruisers they do not appreciate people with this mindset...all it truly takes is just one to ruin pleasure of crusing turning it into a sadness no one actually paid for...good report Doug...maybe it helps those onboard who were affected!!!
Hola🌞. Wow, there is going to be a long investigation on the death of the cruise passenger. I hope Carnival keeps the current P&O itineraries. their itineraries on The Splendor to New Zealand spend too many days at sea.
Good morning Doug. Watch that tox guy’s system show he was likely over the limit in alcohol (wouldn’t surprise me if he was intoxicated before embarkation) and likely a LARGR amount of narcotics. The family is alleging a sedative was administered. If it was, it likely combined with all the other crap in his system and boom. And of course his family sued. This monster could have badly hurt someone else, perhaps even worst but hey, let him knock out a few people and wear himself out. It’ll all be fine. 🙄 Sorry for the cynicism but this could have gone badly for the innocent bystanders. I’m sure Royal will just write a check, the news media will blame them, and the family will go on TV telling us the dude was going to be a Sunday School teacher or some worthy venture. Forget what that security video was showing you. SMH.
Exactly, I am interested to hear what else is on the toxicology report. And in the video, he was merely kicking in that door to rescue an abandoned litter of kittens!!
Don't the Crew wear Life Vest when doing Maintenace where They could go over ? Do You think CARNIVAL is dropping the P & O Brand ? Got some rest ? Good am Doug .
such a shame that we (Melbourne) are going to lose the 2 P&O ships to Sydney and Brisbane, no fault of Carnival or P&O though, just the hike fees imposed by the Victorian government to use a run down pier in need of upgrades.
I don’t want to speculate but I think that guy had to be on something more than just alcohol, especially if he were injected with something. I suspect it was Narcan he was injected with.
Based upon what I’ve read and heard, he was threatening other passengers with death and was extremely abusive. Was trying to get to one passenger who locked himself into a laundry room and was wearing steel toed boots trying to kicking it in.
Cruise Lines must to more to curtail the over drinking on the ships. Enough is enough with all the drunks and bad behavior because of the over drinking.
Im sure you needed to let us know he used racial slurs in his drunken state so it can be used against his family's wrongful death lawsuit that will be coming
The toxicology report and/or autopsy will be a far bigger problem if his family decides to sue. His actions are also on video. Royal could potentially file a countersuit against the attacker's estate given there is video evidence of him kicking the door and being belligerent with crew and guests. It would probably be better for both sides not to litigate.
The BEST Cruise News channel.. straight to the news with none of the extra stuff..
Thanks my friend.
So sad and heartbreaking sending prayers to the crew members family and friends 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

@@glenh4569As a certified Emergency RN, I agree with your statement.
He's a 350 pound tub of lard with heart disease and fentanyl in his system..gee I wonder how he died 🙄
Thank you for your daily update!
I feel sorry for the family, one thing I don't like everyone can't handle their alcohol and some people it brings out what's in their hearts

This isn't true. I was on the ship. The crew member was not working at the time. It was not an accident.
Good morning Doug thanks for the updates 👍 😊

Thank you Doug for always giving us no nonsense news updates. Appreciate you.

Sad for royal crew overboard. Sad passing of Royal Guest. Nice for news Carnival ships. Tks Doug. I heard on 12-19!
Good morning I will be boarding the Carnival Jubilee on Saturday for a Christmas cruise. I have cruise closed to Christmas but never on Christmas.
Check in when your back and let us know how it was. Never done one either. Only Thanksgiving.

P&O Australia has a 92 year history. It is very sad and unnecessary for Carnival to close this brand down.
Would the passenger be administered a sedative, given that he was likely inebriated?
The only thing I can think of is IF he was on something it may have been narcan, IMO.
@@CruiseRadio Illegal drugs onboard a cruise ship? Oh, Doug, say it isn’t so!
@@CruiseRadio
Naloxone/Narcan is "ONLY" used to reverse opioid overdoses. I work in medical so I keep Narcan and an EpiPen in my purse at all times.
I'm not a drinker but I can't imagine that someone could be that drunk within an hour after debark
Have a great day Doug 😁
I've seen them that drunk right after they get on.

Vest or not, that's a decent fall...with a decent chance of losing consciousness.
For sure ,But I have
also seen Them have
a Safety Line Attach ..
Yeah, it’s “reportedly” what happened. I’ve gotten 10 tip line emails. Four different stories. No PR response from Royal. Have a good day.

THREE tethers and a life vest for maintenance outside the ship. He was not on duty.

Interesting how that P&O ships looks very much like a Princess ship with that skywalker lounge on the back
They came from Princess. Basically they were offloaded.

If this is the guy then he probably ate and drink too much
What is wrong with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines???
How did a passenger die in YALL hands🤔
Don’t like comment answer it
Cruise Lines must to more to curtail the over drinking on the ships. Enough is enough with all the drunks and bad behavior because of the over drinking.
Royal Caribbean cruises are getting kind of scary
Seesh royal Carribean what's going on???
So they killed him?
I don’t believe ONE hour in on weak drinks he was like this… something more happened

He was definitely on some kind of drug along with lots of alcohol just based on his behavior.
