Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Evanston. You're right, it is known to be one of the more expensive suburbs of Chicago, in part due to tax policies that can impact affordability. Despite the higher cost of living, many find its diverse community, excellent schools, and proximity to both Chicago and the lakefront to be compelling reasons to call it home. It's important to consider the full range of factors that contribute to a suburb's appeal and cost. Your point is a crucial part of the conversation for anyone considering moving to the area. As usual the media concentrates on the city of Chicago and the crime. Suburbs are hardly ever mentioned in any city across the USA. So the perception that Illinois is a crime ridden state is wrong. Illinois is a big long state, with many nice areas along with lots of farm land. But I guess that's why its a flyover state, maybe landing in Chicago to change planes on their way to California.
Thank you for your insightful comment. You're absolutely right - Illinois is a diverse and expansive state with so much more than what is often portrayed in the media. The suburbs of Chicago, as well as other areas of the state, offer a variety of wonderful communities, rich in culture and beauty, and far from the crime-centric narrative often associated with the city. It's important to highlight these aspects to provide a more balanced view of what Illinois truly offers. Appreciate your perspective on this!
I don't care how nice the suburbs are. Anywhere near Chicago is unaffordable due to the real estate taxes!!!! They are so high you'd think their fire engines are gold plated!!!😕
Thanks for your comment, and you've got a point about the taxes - sometimes it does feel like we're funding gold-plated fire engines! 😄 But in all seriousness, these taxes, although high, play a crucial role. They're not just for show but go towards some of the best schools in the country, ensuring top-notch education for our communities. This investment is one of the reasons why these suburbs are so sought-after. High taxes can be a tough pill to swallow, but when you see the quality of services and education they support, it does put things into perspective. Right 😂😂😂
Can you address the demographics/diversity of these locations please? It's an extremely important factor!
Having grown up in the Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area and have worked in several of the towns listed, it’s by far the most diverse town on this list. Grew up with kids of all ethnicities and religions. Overall was a great place to grow up from that standpoint!
True. The less die-versity the better!
@@prescottlange You’ve got a very ignorant mindset then my friend. It’s not bad at all to love and know people from different walks of life and backgrounds from you. Hope one day you can realize and make some genuine connections outside of people different from where you’re accustomed too.
@@ZachBalance First of all, I'm not your friend. Secondly, you know nothing about me or what I value in the world in terms of appreciating varied walks of life. Speaking of, "diversity" in America maintains a myopically narrow and unmistakable connotation. One that I don't particularly celebrate. And one that I'm certain the OP was intimating. Meantime, my idea of diversity is Greek, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Argentinian, etc., etc. etc. The type of diversity mainstream media pretends doesn't exist. In favor of the favored diversity class. Third, you can keep your hope. Because I won't be needing it. Fourth and finally, never EVER attempt to sanctimoniously lecture me again. On anything. Mkay? Good. Now shoo.
Too bad these places are in Illinois.
Migrants on the way. 😂😅
Country living Hampshire Illinois supports President Trump and our veterans. We hunt and fish and farm.
No wonder it’s not on the list.
