I am 62 years “young” and I love the 5th Dimension! When I was growing up we saw no “color” just peace and harmony. Were there problems? Sure. But not like now! This song is from the Broadway musical “Hair.” Great reaction ❤️

This was just a song in the production of 'Hair.' Then, the 5th Dimension sang it and turned it into magic.
I was born in 1970 and I grew up listening to this song, as it was one of my late dad's favorite songs. He called his song (he was an Aquarius). ❤
The 5th Dimension, one of the best 70s bands. The guy who sang lead at the end Billy Davis is married to Marilyn McCoo. She’s the taller female singer and what a kick ass singer she is do the song, ‘One Less Bell to Answer’ and you’ll see how crazy versatile they are musically. Peace peoples! ✌🏼
Back then, bands weren't allowed to get up on stage, grind on each other (or the mic stand), grab their crotch, swear, or behave in nasty ways.
So, yeah, I'm glad to see some appreciation for real, non tech enhanced vocals, non sexualized, raw talent.
That said, this was not a favorite band of mine back in the day, but this song will always be a top fav of mine.

This was written around 1970,so it represented the dawning of a new era,very hippie vibe..
Love the second song,it is so upbeat you can't listen without a smile on your face...

" Aquarius " was the opening track and "Let the sun shine in", was the final song...
Aquarius is a constellation of stars and a sign in the zodiac. It's also the age of love, peace, and unity. We're supposed to be in the Aquarian Age now, but with all the hate and violence still a part of our lives, I don't know if the prophecy of universal unity will rule or if strife and war continue to separate us. Let's hope and pray that the world they sing about will manifest.

Everyone went outside after to release helium balloons in a spirit of love and joy.

@@fairenough7984 Years ago my youngest daughter asked me when we would be in the Age of Aquarius, I thought someone knew so I started doing research to find that there were no real answers, so I started trying to figure it out for myself. I concentrated on it for about 2 years before I figured it out. We will cross that line in 2047, I know it isn't what is taught, but I can promise you it is correct.

This song is from the musical Hair. The early 70's was the time of peace protests against the Viet Nam War. Young people were rejecting the values of the older generation. They grew their hair long, wore long flowy clothes, smoked a lot of pot, believed in free love as a result of the wide availability of the birth control pill. The famous slogans of the day were, "Peace and love" and "Make love, not war.". It was an interesting time to be alive.
