    Respectfully- I must disagree. I think the slow, sluggish movement paired with the high armor and heavy hitting nature of the BFV tanks really makes them feel powerful and in my opinion- lots of fun. Seeing a massive Tiger or Churchill rolling slowly towards your position is scary- as it should be, because it IS hard to take them out. And I think that makes for really exciting situations. When you're the one tanking, you can absolutely play aggressively, you can't fly into to capture zone immediately and start taking everyone around you out, you push slowly and methodically, pushing the enemy back and eventually out of objectives, I've seen a lot of drawn out firefights at objectives be finished by a tank rolling in for one of the teams and pushing the enemy right out. Finally- in order to prevent assaults from sprinting around your tank at mach 9 and being unable to kill them, advance with infantry. Infantry benefits from armor and armor bennefits from infantry- this is battlefield after all- best not to lone wolf it.

    Confusing. You complained that BF1 tank game play was too solo. But when BF5 wants you to work as a team to destroy a tank you said “forced team play is never a good idea”.

    • @IllllllIIIIIIIIlllllll
      @IllllllIIIIIIIIlllllll 4 года назад +7

      Kaden Volan It was too solo because of the self repair, BF4 if you wanted to repair you had to jump out (no exit or enter animations) to repair leaving you exposed. This is actually a good thing as it left tanks exposed and a sneaky enemy could steal it. It was a risk you had to do to repair, it also showed up on the mini map as an empty vehicle so players would know when you're reping. BF4 you can solo tank easily, but giving self repairs took away an aspect of teamplay because "why help repair a tank when they have self repair". It's about creating a balance of team play while also giving individual players the tools they need to solo.

    • @kadenvolan3557
      @kadenvolan3557 4 года назад +22

      @@IllllllIIIIIIIIlllllll Battle Field 5 lets you self repair to an extent. When you take too much damage you cant go past that point, unless get out and repair, have a teammate repair, or you can go to a resupply station. That's risky isn't it? Also the limited ammo prevents tanks from camping on the hill all game like BF4 and BF1.

    The reason for the tanks in bf1 being a bit overpowered is the historical background. Tanks have been introduced into the battlefield in mid-to-late phaze of the war. Infantry was pretty much hopeless in fights against armored vehicles, as they didn't have nearly any weapons capable of damaging these steel beasts, at least till the final phase of the war. It was pretty much improvisation and luck, just like it is now in bf1.
    In the beginning of WWII, infantry was already better prepared against armored vehicles, not to say that due to development of anti-tank weapons and air support, in the end of the war, sometimes it could even be safer to stay on the ground than to be closed inside a steel death-trap. Devs of the Battlefield series finally have made the gameplay more realistic

      I agree, i only disagree regarding BF1 tank's cannon/turret turning speed. The first British tanks were not as powerful as people think, the British mark tanks had no suspension, meaning crew could get knocked out from going on rough terrain. Unlike the French Renault lite tanks, the mark tanks had no compartments or ventlators, crew members would burn themselves from the engine placed near the middle. This also meant that smoke from guns would usually linger in the inside of the tanks, a large health problem. Finally, the tanks were horribly unreliable and would break down on a regular basis, they were also badly armoured and could be easily destroyed or immobilised by artillery and explosives as they had exposed tracks.

      you gave your Tiger AP mines??? Why?? Actually no, I know why, but that is just stupid. As a tiger you shouldnt be in a position where infantry can swarm you. You should always be sitting as far back as possible and sniping enemy tanks and infantry with the superior cannon and anti-tank rounds. The heat-t rounds will 3 shot literally any tank

    • @zombied3stroy3r9gaming4

      @@digiorno1142 Again, people are more than daring to charge a tank with lunge mines. And plus, I find it fun to cause panic among the enemy ranks when you charge into a cap for a moment, blast away then get out of dodge before you're deleted. Play in ways the enemy wouldn't expect and it will often pay off quite well. The Tiger is great for a defensive monster, yes. But it's not a tank destroyer, you can definitely go on the offensive and make a push with your superior armor and defenses. I don't enjoy sitting back and being that kind of tanker that everyone hates, I like getting the muscle in their face because that's what's fun to me. With how aggressive I am when I'm tanking, having some extra defense really does help. That's why I have the AP mines on my Tiger.

    Soooo you’re saying when tanks are easier to operate and get in and out quicker there’s a higher skill ceiling ??? This doesn’t make sense.
    The tanks now are much more tactical as you have plan and think ahead due to turret speed.

    • @lejenddairy
      @lejenddairy 4 года назад +8

      Because sitting out of bounds and not using your brain while getting an easy kill streak is “tactical”. The reason BF4 had a higher skill ceiling is because you had to insanely good and strategic in the tank or else you are easy meat. If a player was really coordinated in a tank on BF4, they were a force to he reckon with. In BF1 you literally just sit out of bounds or out of reach from enemy players and point and click. That’s it... not much for skilled gameplay.

    • @hupoe1012
      @hupoe1012 4 года назад +5

      @@lejenddairy well actually sitting back is tactical and you have to look at the history of the tanks, the reason the tanks are op in bf1 is because they were just introduced mid ww1 so infantry didnt know how to counter it as easily so that's what I like about bf1, the tanks are scary and beast like but not to beast like to where you go on a 50 kill rampage. That's the problem with these lists, he never looks at how realistic it is and in bf4 people literally just drive into combat getting destroyed in seconds which isnt strategic at all and makes the gameplay boring when you in a tank that can make a full 360 degree turn in seconds then blast everyone

    • @IllllllIIIIIIIIlllllll
      @IllllllIIIIIIIIlllllll 4 года назад +1

      Tanks can't push flags in current BF game as they could in bf4, you can't be aggressive and push without infy support unless you have light tanks or maybe the Valentine's. A high skill ceiling means that a badplayer is easily taken out in tanks while a good player can solo tank and be agressive while staying alive. Recent patches fixed this some but the low mobility makes agressive playstyles in tanks almost impossible unless you're against an enemy team of bots. Being able to dodge incoming fire, quickly pillar, back to safety quickly and also push quicky is key and in BFV we just don't have that.

    For me DICE need to pulish them a lot, they have some extrange behavious. It's normal for tanks to be slow, not for light ones, but do you think that it would be right for a heavy tank like the Tiger I if it could go fast like BF4 days? It would be too op (formula: + armmor - speed).
    Also, why do you think a single assault need to kill a tank himself? Come on, it would be so fucking op that no one would play tanks. BF1 assaults where toxic as hell and I am glad that they got nerfed. Ehem ehem, pls nerf Panzerfaust damage...
    Tanks are are cluncky because Narvik haves a lot of difficult terrain and Rotterdam haves some zones that are very difficult to go through with some flat terrain btw. There are flat maps coming in like Twisted Steel, Hamada, etc.
    I think this game will have good tanks. They need to expand specializations and add the customization.
    Hope there will be a lot of WW2 tanks and not only 3 per nation.
    Pz. 38 (t) has just been revealed and there is also a misterious british tank/armored vehicle in the "This is Battlefield V" trailer. Remind that Hummel is confirmed, and in the future we will have Soviet tanks with Stalinium armmor xDD.

    Strongly disagree. I find the tanks in bfv really fun and challenging. As someone who was mainly a tank player in bf4 I can testify that positioning was always the key to be a good tanker. In bfv this fact is amplified. You can see a noticeable difference between a good tank player and a bad one. A good one provides support for his ground infantry and knows when he's outgunned and should fall back. A bad tanker just rushes head on and dies immediatly.
    There's a pretty steep learning curve for tank players in bfv, but once you get acquainted to the mechanics, you'll have a lot more fun.

    Personally I adore the tank gameplay the most in BFV, they are big, tough and scary, they are an absolute menace in a match and I think they did it perfectly. For example, the Tiger 1 was a horrifyingly terrifying beast in the war and the allies feared even the sound of it so it makes sense for it to be big and slow as if it was fast and had a fast traversing turret, it would be stupidly overpowered.

      I agree, thats a huge downgrade, the "UI" i guess its called, in BFV is too unnecesserily complicated. Press X to customize, select weapon, select what you wanna do about it (speciallizations, customization, switch weapon), in customize section choose which part you wanna customize (sight, barrel...i like the fact you can customize each weapon part individually but they should make it easier like it is in Ghost Recon Wildlands) all that to change a single thing; why dont do the weapon customization like it was in BF4? Place weapon's camos, sights, gadgets, SPECIALLIZATIONS all in ONE section. Plus to that, in your appearance section if u change the "faction" takes idk maybe 20 seconds for you to SEE your soldier's appearance because he is invisible, + in that, if u change a outfit or camo (torso, legs, head), it bugs most times and u have to go ALL out customization section to go ALL over again just to be able to see it. In weapon customization when u select one of the sections (sights for example) you need to wait all the sights to "load" before selecting the one you wish or select it fast, or you gonna have to go select it again, because once every sight loads up the "cursor" goes back to the one you have equipped. That makes me so angry, i give up (honestly) most of the times when i go change my appearance because of that bug.
      And new/weekly weapons (like the S2-2000) and not base costumes when equipped (like the cap from the axis), glitch the game causing it to CRASH everytime you try to join a server. So you need to change all to default in your company before starting to play. Fix that DICE!! + the invisible outfits glitch.

The tiger feels like a tiger, big heavy and absolutely devastating to the enemy. I really like your videos tbag but not every thing is going to be a coloring book. The tanks feel like there from ww2.there heavy, slow at turning there turret and need infantry to support them so they dont get overwhelmed. People were asking that tank turret traverse was set to a specific sensitivity and each tank has different strengths and weaknesses. Bf1 i felt like they were just modern day tanks with a ww1 skin over them. If you play a little more with tanks, you'll soon get the hang of it. Im sorry if this was a rude comment or somthing.

    @sb17899 6 лет назад +172

    No offense, but this is the shittiest opinion on BF5 tanks I have seen. Not hard to do since this is the only one I've heard anyway. You go and say BF5 tank gameplay doesn't take skill but then go on to list reasons why tank gameplay is HARDER, not skill less. You say that the rotation speed is too slow, but if you were smart you would learn quickly that you should rotate your tank WITH the turret to make up for the slow speed. This is a perfect new way to remove the annoying ability to quickly whip the tank turret around with a mouse while also simultaneously adding a new layer to the skill gap AS WELL as new opportunity to balance different tank types. You called tanks slow while showing a heavy tank's obvious downside, but ignore the speed of a light tank. You then whine about the fact that you were outflanked by players who were better than you and you were helpless against them when they take advantage of the tank's downside. You end up sounding like you are whining that you can't one man army in a tank, even worse you whined that when you mess up you were punished for your mistake. Not only that, you whined about being able to kill enemies from a distance (aka use the tank in an effective scenario) but also complained when the infantry could destroy you from up close (aka being out of position). Then you go on to whine about "forced" team play in a series that was always supposed to be about team play in the first place. If you feel you are being "forced" to work as a team then I would rather you not play the game in the first place because that's what the game should have always been about.
    It's hard to see your opinion as anything more than a point of view filled with negative-confirmation bias due to DICE's incompetence with marketing, and nothing actually to do with the mechanics themselves. You made it pretty clear that you were looking to make out literally anything to be a negative.

    • @TBAG
      @TBAG  6 лет назад +9

      I think you are the one who is biased since you made that assumption lol!! and thanks for your comment, looks like you are vey passionate abou this topic, as do I. but sadly your whole comment doesnt make any sense if you actually watched the video and listened to what I had to say.
      harder doesnt mean more skill... the slow turret speed is something that pretty much the entire communty agrees upon so dont act like I am the only one complaining about this. (yes you can make the turret roate 2% faster if you turn your tank as well bravo). I agree that turning your turret at light speed is retarded like it was on PC in bf4, but that wasnt the case on console. I never whined about being outflanked by players ''who are better than me'' lol. Its not really a hard thing to do since the tanks take ages to look around. and they are slow as hell so coming in close and flanking them is nothing special lmao. not being able to one man army with a tank is like you said not that possible in bf5. doesnt have to do with skill because as you can BY THE VIDEO FOOTAGE in bf4 I have no problem doing that. the point is that it is not possible BECAUSE it is BF5. thats the whole point Im trying to make. (and I never 'complained' about infantry destroying me wtf?)
      Lastly, yes bf has always been about teamplay. but not about FORCED teamplay. I guess you dont know the difference. the difference is that in other bf games you can play solo but you would be rewarded if you stick with your squad. in bf5 you are pretty much forced to play with your squad. you cant really play solo because of the ammo and health system and shit like that. if you dont get that than sorry you are extremely dumb lol.

It's gave you the feeling of helplessness as these tank vehicles were almost impossible to destroy on the battlefield. ( Although the way the turret spins is way too quick ).

    I think the tank gameplay is one of bf5’s strenghts. In games like Bf4, bf3, bfbc2 and bf2, tanks really feel like jeeps with turrets because of their light weight, steering, and a ridicilous turret speed.
    Also the limited ammo makes tank gameplay more interesting in my opinion because ammo management brings in an element of strategy.

    I for once think that bf1 got the best tank gameplay, the limited traverse of your main armament put an emphasis on having good gunners (you know that teamplay thing), and the heavy defense along with the sheer presence of a tank could be enough to push people out of cap points. Not only that but it was relatively easy to surpress an enemy tank, if you just dedicated a couple minuttes to get behind them, and start taking away chunks of their health, most players would rather pull out of the area than get killed.

    I am playing Battlefield since BF1942. Over the years my interest has shifted towards vehicles away from infantry. I preferred infantry-only or infantry-heavy games like MOHAA, COD 1 and 4, CS 1.6 and CSS, and earlier BF titles.
    The problem is that the number of things that can kill you in a BF title have increased a lot. I don't find it particularly fun to get killed by darts dropped by a plane in BF1. I usually live quite long and run out of ammo. I can take out a tank as assault, but then what? Too often it results in a chase of ammo around the map.
    Overall, I am a very good vehicle player / tanker in various BF titles and among the top 0.01%. I play CQ only and PTFO. If I am using a light tank and a flag is only held by infantry, I can deal with 7-10 infantry men myself and cap it. Or tanks for that matter. If I get the first shot, they are dead. Too many other players would use tanks or vehicles to camp on a hill or even at spawn. That's a waste of armor and has nothing to do with decent vehicle gameplay. Some call tanking easy to justify why they got killed 25 times in a row by a decent player using one. When they then try to use one themselves to take me out, they still die. Not so easy after all, ey. Killing people over and over makes them salty. They send multiple squads after me and still die most of the time. And since I am in the thick of it, on flags, surrounded by enemies, quite a few can't understand how that is possible without cheating.
    In BF 4 I had no problem of getting out of my vehicle and repair it manually. The vehicle would provide enough cover. That isn't the case in BF1 due to smaller tanks and splash damage. Self-repair is a nice improvement as it's the least frustrating system yet. Any damage will disrupt repairs. Problem is that hardly anybody uses it to their advantage. Ammo is unlimited, but slowed down by delays / cooldowns. I have lost quite a few unlucky battles only because I had 0 rounds left. And still, I never complained.
    Tanking in BF V is ridiculous. The turret is clunky and slow, splash damage unpredictable. Movement too clunky and slow. I can still be efficient and get high score/min and kdr's of 60 while ptfoing, but it isn't any fun in BF V.
    Ammo scarcity leads to strange gameplay loops on e.g. Rotterdam. You spawn, drive to flag A, cap it. Moving on to B, white house. Contact with a tank and infantry on the Main Street, distant battle, no action. After 40 seconds, out of ammo. Stockpile at B usually mined and too exposed, so driving all the way back to spawn. The layout and ammo scarcity disconnects me from most flags and my teammates. I can cap A and B, that's it. D or E is too close to enemy spawn, a tank and spawn-protected infantry can spawn on you any second.
    The inner bridge-parts of the map are dead. Close quarters, death trap with the slow and clunky turret. And on that snow map (Narvik), the different elevations enable 1 assault to kill a tank, as turret speed and bad visibility limits from shooting back in time.
    Tanks in BF 1 seemed to be OP in the open beta. That was because nobody had unlocked and learned to use the rocket gun. Also, the necessity to prone to use it, exposes them for too long and they die before they fire a shot. Damage has been tweaked, self repair reduced from 30(!!!) to single random digits. I saw other tankers complain about the changes. That's when you see a skill gap appearing. Yes, I would be slightly better with more armor and quick repair, but I can adapt.
    I personally would prefer a mix of BF4 and BF1's tank mechanics. The best of both worlds.

Like why does everything need such detail to be enjoyable? Doesn't matter if you are a tanker, a pilot or an infantry player. Games, especially battlefield, gives you so many options of gunplay, mechanics and different kinds of gameplay styles. Why is it so hard to move on? I get that everyone has a favorite battlefield, but sometimes a new game is a stepping stone to further, improved development of a serie.

    Been a fan of the battlefield series since BF1942 first came out. I Probably have played the battlefield series more than most games except for a select few, but regardless. I tried the tanks in the BFV beta and loved them. You see, a tank in BFV is supposed to move up with the infantry on your "team" in a support kind of way. A tank that over extends can be overwhelmed by infantry very quickly, especially in tight environments where mines can be placed all around the tank and hit with barrages of anti-tank weapons. Use smoke to retreat and repair/rearm.
    The only exception to this rule of lone wolf tanking really would be if you were in an area with a very slim amount of cover and you were extremely good at picking off targets quickly from all sides, just pray you can rearm quickly enough before infantry gets the jump on you. If you have a gunner and or an engineer, your likely hood to survive increases.
    A tank can seem OP when you have an opposing team that works together to an extent and your team is running around trying to play "lone" wolf. Battlefield has always been a squad based game in conquest modes in terms of tactics. Some players will keep throwing themselves at the meat grinder by thinking their "skill" will overpower the opposing team and other players will try to think of a strategy on how to get around the meat grinder, attack it from the flanks and or push the team out by capturing a less defended Flag point. You know who will win, or least put up a damn good fight and a good game.

    You dont know ANYTHING, do you. Battlefield 4 is the days of modern tanks, including the modern Russian T90S and the sleek and strong US M1A2 Abrams. These tanks are strong and have a decent speed, having the T90S go a little bit faster. Battlefield I is supposed to be World War I, where the first tank ever made comes into play. The Mark I. The tank was slow, break-worthy, and very unreliable. Battlefield V. You're the worst at this one. The developers of the game wanted to show the realism of the game in tanks by adding it in. The Panzer 38t is fast, has an acceleration that is decent, and has a bad cannon, because it is light. The Panzer IV tanks are medium tanks, being slow, and unreliable around 1944. The Tiger. One of the best tanks, trailing behind the M4, had the worst engine of all, breaking down a lot, needed repairing a lot of the time, but the armour was super thick, and had a great KwK 88 cannon that can puncture anything. The Sturmtiger was the same thing as the Tiger, different model as on a Jagdpanther base, but with the chassis of a Tiger I. Good armour, bad engine, and a whopping deadly 350mm rocket cannon. The British side however is the same. Valentine is a good light tank, its fast, and has a better cannon than the 38t. The Churchill is slow, but had a decent pounder gun. The Churchill gun carrier, one of the unique ones, was the same, but with a larger cannon, as it was a tank destroyer. That is realism for you. Now please do research before you criticize developers on a game that try their hardest on a game full of action packed fun and tons of realism. It's best for everyone, instead of calling every tank in Battlefield V a vacuum cleaner.

    Lol, bf4 tanks are piss easy to destroy with all the lock ons and laser targetting, not to mention air power. As for "forced" loadouts in bf1, everyone was always running the same things in 4, either because the rest was gutted, too situational, or required actual teamwork to function at least somewhat consistently.
    Tanks are about maintaining a team's momentum, not spearheading attacks yolo style. Red Orchestra 2 did them mostly right.
    If it's brawling you seek, then yes, bf4 tanks and bfbc2 tanks are top notch for that and your opinion is indeed valid. I mean, agile tanks made sense in the nervous, action-pumped BC formula. But on large scale games, it gets annoying to have Sonic the TankHog farming kills like it's some sort of arcade game.

    The reason why the tanks are slow is because one most of the tanks in bf5 are heavy tanks so they're meant to be slow and heavy tanks are normally used in tank on tank combat which is why people are kill farming the infantry because there's not enough tanks in the first place. The second is that it's actually easy to kill tanks be cause you don't have to use dynamite all the time there's something called a panzer fast which is a rocket launcher and anti tank mines. You can't really say bf5 is the worst because it hasn't been fully released yet so they could add and change a lot of stuff so you can't really say it's the worst because it's only just been the open beta.
