I ALWAYS LOVED Alan and Monica together!!! Rick was much more suited for Lesley. The way Alan and Monica fought showed just how much they really loved each other. They also grew as individuals as well. RIP Alan/Stuart❤🙏😪
Luke and Laura brought viewers in, but Monica and Alan made them stay. One of daytime's most fascinating couples. It was a shame they evolved into more comic relief through the years. The conflict between these two damaged people made for great genuine drama.
I gotta disagree "Well Kinda". We stayed because of L&L, it's a FACT we left when L&L left, and we came back when L&L came back. BUT the ratings DEF stayed decent and STILL better then all other soap operas because Monica, Alan, Lesley, Rick, Bobbie, Scorpia, Tracy, Helena, ect were all so good. All the story lines back then were GREAT. I wish they had capitalized more on the fact that there was a lot of lust & passion between Monica & Alan. Of course we all know now how the writers screwed up. Rick & Lesley, L&L should have all had there happy ending!! The ratings are sooo sad now they are only still on air, because what do you replace that hour with...an Infomercial? I'm surprised many of the actors stay, because their paychecks can't be more then the average person. It breaks my heart that the writers not only screwed ALL these stories up, they even rewrote history on them all. I only know these things because I've caught a lot of stuff on youtube. Luke & Tracy were just another more comic relief from what I have seen on on these vid's. Sad just sad.
@@82mmkay I also remember when Alan & Monica had to go over to Susan's house because she's to wasted to take care of the baby. THAT was a great vid, and I could totally see that as something Monica & Alan would do as a team. They were so disfunctional (hell I guess we all are), But at the end of the day they knew they loved each other and were no good without eachother.
Actually the Dr love quad of Alan, Monica, Rick and Lesley is what brought GH to #1 for the first time ever. The L&L stuff was way after. Credit always gets misplaced unchecked. I intend to change that.
Man this was ACTING. Monica and Alan had such amazing chemistry, it's fun watching them from back in the day. I still really hold a grudge against Guza for phasing out the Q's.
I think Alan is so handsome, and much more charismatic than Rick. He even played the Prince in the 1965 version of "Cinderalla" & and was the perfect choice for that role!
I always liked Alan and Monica together. The love/hate relationship they had brought out the sparks and passion between them. They both grew up together and kept each other in check. Leslie and Stuart were great together and both were good friends in real life. RIP Alan/Stuart❤🙏😪
Poor Monica was so pathetic over Rick. Alan did love AJ. If Jason hadn't been born - I think Alan would have been alright in his relationship with AJ. But when Jason came along - it seems that somehow it was easier for Alan to love him - especially since his fight to keep Jason was different than his fight to keep AJ.
Oh it isn't just you. I LOVE their fights! I love their dialog. It is too bad at the beginning of 1981 through the summer they didn't have too much airtime together as Alan was with Susan. When they did it was worrying about what Alex was doing with the Q money so not so much of the witty banter we got in the fall of 1981.
This is just so many shades of awesome. Alan and Monica at their harshest, yet I still want them to get it right. Damn them for being such a hot couple. They DO look good together, don't' they. Such a fine looking couple as well as mad chemistry. I know there were many Patsy Rahn fans out there...but I really don't think she could've matched up to Stuart as well as Leslie does.
Right. Not to mention the humor. All of the stuff Monica pulled before she married Alan would not have come off as lightweight funny had PR still been playing her. Let alone all of the Quartermaine stuff; like Monica's witty comebacks when she and Alan/Edward sparred.
Yes, to me here need for Rick made her weak. There are some die hard Rick/Monica fans out there but really she would have been a shell of herself if she'd stayed with him. She was the perfect fit for the Q family.
Leslie, Stuart, David, Jane and even Anna made such a great comedy team that it would have wasted their talents to not keep them together. Monica as a character was also perfect for the Q family as it satisfied her characters greatest need - family. Alan gave her a mom, dad and a nasty sister along with a husband in one ceremony! LOL I was surprised to see the die-hard R-M fans - but in all honesty they were HOT together but Monica is meant to be strong not weak. She hot and strong with Alan.
I Love Alan and Monica. They work so well together. But I have to say during this time Monica must have been nuts. When I look into Alan's beautiful, drowsy, sparkling eyes I could just gobble him up. Stuart Damon is indeed a pleasure to the eyes!
The saddest part of the relationships of Alan, AJ and Jason was that Alan didn't know how to be a dad. Edward wasn't the normal or regular dad to him so it was clear that Alan didn't know how to parent.
I wanted them to. The story was Kathy would turn out to be Rick and Monica's and Alan and Lesley would turn to each other but a writer's strike and GM going with the Ice Princess story changed plans. It was what that lame ripoff that went on during Jasam and Liz and GV Lucky when Sam and Lucky became a couple. That was where Alan and Lesley were headed. I love AMRL in ANY combination so any pairing was a win for me. For my money the best storyline ever existed. Period. It's why I created my Heart of Glass Tribute video
Is it just me or are all these Alan/Monica fights so much fun to watch? These 2 are made for each other I swear!
Did anyone catch her blooper when she said Surgeon, instead of Surgery?😄. Lol!!✌️✌️❤️❤️.
I ALWAYS LOVED Alan and Monica together!!! Rick was much more suited for Lesley. The way Alan and Monica fought showed just how much they really loved each other. They also grew as individuals as well. RIP Alan/Stuart❤🙏😪
Alan and Monica were something else. Great chemistry between those two actors.
I am broken hearted right now! We just lost the handsome Stuart Damon June 29th 2021 at age 84! Rest in Peace Handsome!!!
This was some dynamic writing and acting. Loved this era of GH!
❤

You can add Lesley & Rick in keeping the fans right there!

@@yevettebamber4273 Yes! That was a great scene!

Yes they did Stuart Damon 😭😭😭 may he rest and heaven 😭😭😭🙏🏿
Alan was so awesome when he was with AJ in this clip. It was a shame how that relationship became when AJ was older.
I think Alan is so handsome, and much more charismatic than Rick. He even played the Prince in the 1965 version of "Cinderalla" & and was the perfect choice for that role!

The glory days of soap and definitely General Hospital.
For the life of me I never understood what Monica saw in Rick Webber.
Yes, he was boring with her. He was made for Lesley, Monica was made for Alan.

Personally I like the roughness LC brought to the character of Monica. I don't think PR could've pulled this off

My favorite couple on daytime t.v.

Alan was better looking than Rick. Rick was attractive but Alan was better.
I certainly loved the Monica Tracy sister in law banter!
This is 40 yrs ago... Wow..
Love Monica and Alan.
How do these babies not get confused. When Allen said I love you that baby looked at him so intently for a minute.

Poor sad needy Monica God at least Alan knows exactly what he wants, Ric was way more wishy washy
I Love Alan and Monica. They work so well together. But I have to say during this time Monica must have been nuts. When I look into Alan's beautiful, drowsy, sparkling eyes I could just gobble him up. Stuart Damon is indeed a pleasure to the eyes!
serenade1275 He was Prince Charming in a Cinderella production!
Agree!!
Alot better than nerdy Rick.
Alan loves his kids, doesn't he? Stuart Damon always plays and has fun with both sins when they were babies.❤️❤️❤️✌️✌️.
the baby who plays Alan Jr. reminds of the baby who plays amanda in another world
A cutie for sure!
Monica frfr 😭 was 😭 back then but I love me some 💰 Alan 😂👌🏾 awesome 😎 couple
The saddest part of the relationships of Alan, AJ and Jason was that Alan didn't know how to be a dad. Edward wasn't the normal or regular dad to him so it was clear that Alan didn't know how to parent.
I wonder how long baby AJ had to wait outside in the car with the nanny?
Did Alan and Lesley ever hook up? If so, would be so weird
They never did.
No.
Yes
