- Here is an awesome video I took during Allston Christmas. One of Capitol's Roaring Leaches taking care of the Fenway Cans. As you can see the huge truck is not exactly Ideal for this kind of route, but the skilled driver made it work. Even with all the move-in and demolition chaos he still flew through this area. So tops to Mr. Allen for all his hard work. A big thank you to my buddy Mike for helping me with the route aswell. I have linked his channel below, make sure to check him out. Hope you all enjoy!

**Quick Note: He dumped the same dumpster twice because a crew of movers came and tossed everything in there pickup.

Back in the day 60s-70s we had the Diamond Reos , the Internationals and The White Packers could barely take one dumpster,and would lift the front end of the truck if it rained.Fast forward the new high compaction Packers will do the whole building with room to spare.

No two dumpsters alike and so cable method is only universal option when dumpsters are owned by apartment complexes.

Crazy inefficient. Front loading top fed - lift, dump, drop it and your out. 60 seconds.

Time inefficient, but around 18 minute you see the utility of it being rear load, both trucks can tilt the large bins and and you can dump the rolling bins in as well. It's got utility
No It’s actually more efficient because that truck is doing residential not just the cans. You want more tricks than what’s necessary.

I didn't walk under it. The whole point was to stay a distance to avoid any potential hazards.
I’m guessing the first reason is that he’s not you.
The second reason is that he has a much better understanding of applied physics and geometry than you do.

The smaller trucks may do a better job with the smaller dumpsters, however you have to take into account how many smaller trucks would be needed to even try to keep up a bit with this truck By the looks of it I would hazard a guess that this one takes about twice the capacity.

i remember a day when garbage men, who were paid to haul the garbage away, used to haul it all away. now they just empty cans and to hell with what falls on the street. fees go up, service goes down. i have to call every couple months and remind them that i am paying to have garbage hauled away.
Tell your tenants to stop overloading the dumpsters, or your property manager to add another can.

18:34 is it actually being recycled? I work for a private recycling company we left dry recycle card and plastic bottles that the customers think is being recycled but on the same daywith the same truck we we lift general waste. It's then tipped in the depot shed where it all goes through a chopper and up through conveyer belts chopped again and comes out the other side as a gray dust that's sold to a company that uses it to power huge generators. Its all about profit nothing to do with recycling. Ps and I'm in the UK. also.

Inefficient and unsafe. First of all, the driver should NEVER be getting outta the truck. The garbage trucks in Detroit are front loading and takes the driver less than 30 seconds and doesn't make a mess
You have no clue what you’re talking about.
dumping the bins into the rear loading trucks seems to me like a really stupidly slow system.. takes the truck several minutes and cycles to get the bin empty when a top loader could lift dump and move on to te next bin in a fraction of the time... add up all the bins on a route and its probably an hour or 2 of wages and fuel saved.
Seems like a terribly inefficient, messy and time-consuming process to collect trash/rubbish/garbage/refuse to me. The smaller trucks do a much better job of collecting roobish. And what about all the wasted recyclable material?
Only way it will ever get done here.
