Today we take a look at the Nvidia HD 6950, focusing on benchmarks and its practicality in 2022. Spoiler alert: this card is not powerful for modern day applications, as this card only sports 2gb of GRRD5 for gaming. I was able to, launch, and kinda successfully play Dirt Rally, Fortnite, Beamng.Drive, far Cry 4, and counter strike global offensive (csgo). Realistically, this card would be best suited for an older system, low-end system, but may still have some usage as a budget graphics card.

Cut the arrogance a little bit.
One important fact to know about the HD 6900 series is that originally these cards were suppose to be on a 32nm fabrication process. However Global foundries screwed over AMD and went to 28nm. You cannot just shrink to a smaller node than what you were developing for, so AMD had to reuse the aging 45nm fabrication process used with the HD 5000 series. This led to the HD 6900 series not being nearly as powerful as it should have been, and the HD 6700 and HD 6800 being just rebadges of the HD 5700 and 5800 series respectively.
Of course we cannot say for certain with if even with 32nm fabrication the HD6000 series would have beaten nvidia, but it would have been at least a hell of a lot more competitive than it was.
Didn't find that info during my research. Sorry I guess, tis why it's not a very successful channel. But thank you for the information, I like learning about these older cards
@@Jaindike Also note, the 6970 wasn't the card squaring against the 580, that would have been the 6990 a dual gpu card. Back in the era AMD liked to compete in the top end with dual gpu cards and use a smaller core for cheaper manufacturing. The 6990 absolutely stomped the gtx 580, although it was more expensive at 700$ vs the 580 at 500$
