In ancient warfare there was one torch bearer for every 20 or 30 troops. So when the Midianites saw 300 torches, they figured the whole place was seething with 6000 to 9000 (plus) attackers. This was a brilliant strategy. It may even have been the same ratio with the trumpet players. Brilliant strategy.

That was good and on time as I’m working in the office today pondering over observed co workers behaviors and limited maturity. It helps me to check myself and sow better seeds in my thinking and response towards them despite of their behaviors. God loves me

Does all this happen before the tribe of Dan, or simply as separate? Do you have an illustration maybe of the family tree for these tribes, who begets who, etc. I ask ofc because "Dan" literally is "judge," but this system of judges... runs across different tribes? Sorry, trying to sort it all out.

The law wasn't just for the Jews but for the Whole House of Israel.
Over and over it says that by keeping it people are blessed.
Even before Moses, Abraham observed the Torah. (Genesis 26:5)

How God sent an evil spirit. I think they deserved it because they were constantly doing evil. I believe it remains today for those who wants to do evil and live by them.

Wait, did Jerobaal have 70 sons or 71, because you said he killed his 70 sons, as one of them
    Did he kill 69 sons?
Edit: 68 sons? Since one survived

Was Gideon known by Jerobaal during his lifetime? Did he choose this name? Who chose it?

Why God allow Abimelech to kill the people when he should be punished in the first place and not the people that were rising against him.

You could also say why God allowed his mother to be pregnant with him etc etc. everything works according to God’s plan. We don’t understand it all.

Dont forget that Jacob's sons slaughtered the people of Shechem because the man raped their sister, then asked to marry her.
