Both of my E-Bikes were delivered by FedEx. Ladt September, they just left it at the front door. I do have a Google Nest doorbell. When I ordered my folding fat tire E-Bike last winter, I had them hold it at the nearby FedEx Office store because I wasn't going to be home on the scheduled delivery date. 80 pounds in the box and the staff was not happy. Oh, well! I got it into my minivan and into my garage. Plus, they looked at my license, I signed for the bike and went on my way. No scanning of my license.
By their own rules, they are supposed to scan or manually put in the info before you sign, but some of the drivers just have you sign. Also, I have had some bikes delivered that did not require a signature… which is risky for the manufacturer and for the customer.
I have never had to let them scan my ID. They scanned the pagage, and then I signed. It's 93% humidity at 82 F. I was going to ride today, but I have upset stomach. My have been the chili.
We didn't have as much fireworks around us this year. I was glad it was quite and my dogs was glad too.

Yes, WI for fireworks too. There's way too much. People in my neighborhood are up past 1 am, waking us up. Too many people will have fewer fingers after the holidays, or worse. It's not worth it. The Botanic garden was wonderful last Monday. Thanks for the ride.

Hey Russ, a lot of illegal fireworks in my neighborhood. The 4th was just lit up, lots of booms, explosions and grass fires. It was quite a show. Saw lots of drones used by police, and visits by law enforecement the next day. Anxious to see the new ebike showcase with Wired coming reletively soon. It's your personal right to refuse scanning your ID, lots of identity theft out there, don't want to see Russ Is Right on the dark web.

Russ, fed ex really sucks.yesterday fed ex said my e bike would be delivered in friday.i call customer service at 9:30 at night.they said there was a mixup and they don't know when I will get it .20 years ago I did not have these problems.computers are making things worse in some areas,😯🤔😦
We get fireworks for the entire week, it is extremely annoying usually last to 2-3AM in the morning. They were still setting them off last night the day after.
2001 pizza delivery drove and had to take physical imprint of credit cards, it's like pulling teeth to get them to pay up! Since we're talking ID theft.😅 plus I was in my lowered drift car with earings, brown skin and spiked hair. That did not help

@@Cozydrone Well, if you watch On Patrol Live TV show, just about everyone they pull over has some kind of drug or paraphenilia in their vehicle. It is outstanding the amount of illegal drug use that goes on in this country. How dod they even find enough workers that test drug free when they do the mandatory tests. Unless they find a way to cheat.
Fed Ex is the worst, I cringe every time I have something being delivered by them.

I I avoided FedEx on my last e-bike, I ordered the e-bike at my local Lowe's home improvement store and the bike was delivered there!

A little (VIP) bird told me that you’re going to get a Wired e-bike soon.
That’s great news if of course my source is correct, if they give you a choice my guess is that you’d likely prefer the step-through Touring bike.
I’m still crossing my fingers that you’ll get to review the Ride1Up V2 Pro…
Thanks for sharing that information about not being required to give up our drivers license to FedEx delivery drivers upon delivery.
I can understand the concerns from both sides in concluding the final steps for successful delivery.
I just watched a review of a very expensive e-bike that sells for over $12,000.00 dollars…
TBH (to be honest) that’s almost equivalent to the service of someone like CARVANA.
Anyway I look forward to you receiving a new e-bike that’s new and different to the rest.
Maybe you’ll finally get the Ride1Up Model2…

Now they've got gadgets for everything, I even got one that allows me to remote control the volume on my vintage receiver, so I don't have to get up from my chair to adjust the volume.
We needed to send my wife’s first Lectric trike back under warranty to Phoenix. So we packed it up, took photos, took pics and Lectric approved. FedEx came and picked it up in a couple of days. I tracked the package. A few days FedEx showed the package in Phoenix. Then said there was a label issue. The package then was sent to Port St. Lucie FL. Another week later it finally delivered to Lectric in n Phoenix. Not efficient!
The new trike was delivered with a lot of damage to one fender.
We have yet to be required to display an ID go FedEx. They mishandle the packages too. The Lectric Trike box has this side up and arrows all over the box. Yep, boxes are on their side, upside down, have holes, etc.
This label issue seems to be something they say all the time. I have a lot of packages that say that they could not read the label and had to re-label it. I think it is just their way to gain more time to deal with the delivery.

Not allowing the delivery person to scan, Russ…was Not Right! I’m sure he was unaware of your discovered rule, but thought you were , um, a little off your use-by date.
Since you had experience with law enforcement, maybe your old contacts there can confirm, there has not been any nefarious interference with the scanned information.
And it makes it so much easier for the driver.

A certain class of fireworks are legal here and people can mail order the bigger ones. I saw a weather map showing the (temporary) drop in air quality here due to smoke from fireworks here and surrounding metro counties. Some Asian communities use loud noises to “drive off bad spirits”. A loud single clap of a hands, perhaps this includes fireworks. We have annual Cicadas here but a species of wasp eat the cicadas larvae. I never hear them here. Mid-west was supposed to have a confluence of the 13-year and 17-year species this year.
Our local county law enforcement said they weren’t responding to fireworks calls. So guess what happened? Bet the city had to shut off their shot detectors.😮

Funny, I just had a bike delivered via FedEx from eCells and they didn't require an ID.
Did you have to sign for it? I find that some drivers do not ask for ID and others do. But the FedEx rule according to their website is to get an ID as well as a signature.
I have never once gotten a package from Fed Ex when it was supposed to arrive. I've ALWAYS had to call them to ask where it is, so yeah They be inconvienced.. I'd make it as long and tedious as possible.

Sometimes the handlebars are higher in some bikes than others. Even with the camera mounted high on my chest, I can’t get it high enough to avoid the taller handlebars. Or, the lean into a lower handlebar can make it in a bad position. No way for me to know it while riding though.
Is that only in certain area? About Fedex ? They never ask for I’d from me…they take a pic of me and item and I sign for it, and not all the time either.
If you go to the FedEx website, it says they are supposed to scan the id, but you can refuse and then they have to manually take your birthdate and name and then you sign.

Yes, but it was a bike roundabout! Nobody was around though.
Cnsider the fact that you are dragging more weight in the batteries with that longer trip, back and forth. It's not like an emptier gas-tank.
Luckily, I lost enough weight so that even if I carried three additional batteries, it would still be less than I weighed last year on my ebike. 😊

Wow I have never been asked for ID receiving a delivery. My biggest issue is they leave items that I'm supposed to sign for like a 55-inch TV and a lawnmower sitting in my driveway. Luckily I was home when my bike was delivered.
When I joined Costco, they scaned my license without telling me they were gonna do it. I thought it was just to identify me. Did you let Costco scan your license? Is that safe to do?

Be careful about giving your birth date. With your name and birth date you open yourself to ID theft. When I had my business I did background checks with only a name and birthday

I also would not let FedEx scan my license. 🪪 Why the birth date also? All they need is a signature, that says you received it. Ridiculous 😒
Anybody could just sign for it.
Adult Signature required but it doesn’t have to be the person named on the package.
