Great video, great demo' and explanation. The kayak seems to be the same as a Galaxy Cruz sold here in England so it was a really useful and enjoyable video to watch. Thank you for posting, I wish you tight lines and all the best!
mines very silmilar although my inside compartment has 7 pool noodles crammed into it coz im sketchy and dont want to sink. ive also added out riggers, a leaboard out of an old paddle, sails with rigging and the hooks for them, i also have a milk crate mounted onto the back with another one as a lid, i have a few bags im going to mount the the out side and i made the mast out of aluminium pipe and it sits in a rod holder i mounted to the front, the trowling motor will be here in a few days :) mines black and red camo
thanks for that, I just got one and was just starting to think I made a mistake about the storage for a overnight trip but now I know I can get away with it.
Thanks dismal! The kayak in the video is actually my smaller fishing kayak which are very common so I thought I would base the video on that instead of my longer kayak to prove that you don't need a big long yak to go camping.
That's a great question. The load rating of this kayak is 140kg. My gear I would conservatively estimate would be somewhere in the 20kg range along with my 85kgs so well within the specifications of what the kayak can carry. I think i'll update the description to include this information. Lots of good people out there with great ideas!
G'day Stu. Thanks for the message mate. Yeah I think you have hit the nail on the head there. Space is at a premium on overnight trips but could definitely spare some space for at least a six pack on the day trips.
This is one of the drawbacks of a sit on top. There is limited space. You could definitely store a 2 piece paddle in the fishing rod holders if you're not taking a fishing rod that is.
Thanks for making this video. I have this yak and was wondering how to pack it for an overnight trip! Great system you did on this little yak model.!
Thanks Greg. When I first got it I didn't honestly think I could carry enough to go camping but it has proved really effective.

Thanks John. Tight lines to you too.
You giving my comment a thumbs up and I am here watching your packing video.
Thanks for the great information Justin.
Cant wait for your lakes video keep them coming.
G'day Tim thanks mate. Sorry about the late reply RUclips was holding comments for review.
Thank you for posting this! Very helpful.
You're welcome

also trying to mount a shade system that can pull up and over but so far i havent found a good enough system
That's sounds like the most modified kayak I've ever heard of. I've always wanted to put a sail on mine.

Check out my last couple of kayak camping adventure videos. I used the kayaks2fish in them with all my camping gear and had no issues.
I like the license plate collection. I need to send you one of ours.
Great Job Mate-nice and tidy and surprised on the hatch areas you have.Always a way to camp no matter what kayak ya have

Very good
Thanks!
Great video mate. Gives me some good ideas for set ups :)
Thanks Geek Tim. I've found that there isn't a lot out there about sit-on-top kayak packing for camping.
Thanks for the video, mate.
If you do a follow up to this, could you list the weights of the gear and the load rating of the kayak?
Cheers.
Stay Safe

Hawkie67. I just looked up the specs on the Kayaks2Fish website and it actually holds 150kgs! They call it an Osprey now though.
Nice one mate! Just found your channel. Only thing I think your system is missing is cold beer storage 🍺😊

How do you prevent the small items, you store in the two hatches, from moving all around in the hull and 'disappear'? 🤔
I made bulkheads inside using spray foam.
Cool.. 😊👍 You should make a video on making bulkheads 😋
Not like this, is it.. this is not a sit on top..? 🤔

Funny you should mention that. Here's one I prepared earlier

No emergency paddle?

What about tunes? Lol
