- Israeli cyber-surveillance company NSO Group’s Pegasus malware has reportedly been used in at least 45 countries worldwide to infect the phones of activists, journalists, and human rights defenders. This terrifying software can infiltrate your smartphone, collect your data and even listen to you... all without your knowledge.
A huge leak in July 2021, revealed 50,000 phone numbers that had been targeted; including president of France Emmanual Macron, and friends of the family of Saudi journalist Jamal Kashoggi in the lead up to his murder in 2018.
Eyal Weizman and Shourideh Molavi from Forensic Architecture used open-source investigation to gather reports of digital Pegasus infections to reveal how they relate to acts of violence in the real world.

NSO Group is truly shady and this software is shady af. Thank you for reporting on this, Vice!
If anyone was tracking me, they would be very bored and confused. “Why is this lady going in circles?” “She really doesn’t have a life because she never leaves her house” “why is she googling about more snacks?”.
On a less joking note, it breaks my heart people are in danger for doing something the government doesn’t like. I cannot word things the way I want too but my point is, is that this story is so sad.
LOL love you comment on the same page as you all they would see is a bunch of stupid searches
A company in a state that violates human rights vetting customer's human rights records? Right
Why you lying

Mans hand talking game is next level
How is this any different from what Snowden was talking about? Guess what? No one cares then I doubt they’ll really care that much at all now too.
Naah, this one might blow up coz it has a cool name and sick advertisement.
ruclips.net/video/bfMKMlk3HlU/видео.html.
Same category, different types. What Snowden revealed is like a big ass boxing gloves, this is a small poison needle. One causes large-scale bruising, the other kills with a prick. People do care, it's just that too much bruises makes it normal.
I care.
Bro a whole movie was made around Edward Snowden, Wym no one cares? Hella people know about this event… well kinda idk
Sad how this will happen everywhere
Might?
@@newgoliard6059 Should've used "will" you already know that stuff like The Patriot Act and crap like that

It will definitely get worse before it gets better. It’ll get better, though.
we needed to see this...getting off the grid nowadays means no smart TVs, smart cars, using the landline phones, playing cards or dominos at ta table instead of a smart device....take me back to the 90's right before the internet!!!!!
A missed call is out of control
Every time you add and app from the App Store you literally added spyware. Does No one read the fine print before they add it to their phones?
Wth is wrong with people?
Cover your camera lenses AT ALL TIMES, except when you're really using them. That's ONE way to curb their spying crimes.
No one cares about you and your phone. Unless you're a journalist or politician don't worry about it. No one cares.
@@andyk939 Says the government-paid PR agent for mass-spying. They're scared ppl would start realizing that they can counter mass-spying.
@@andyk939 they care about amassing as much data from as many people as possible so they can learn to predict and manipulate human behaviour. every time you interact with your device, you are teaching them a little bit more. they are not targeting you as an individual, but you are still constantly feeding the keys to your own manipulation as part of the group.
If my phone was looked into, They'd probably say this guy's boring...Except for that one video.
I’m sure my phone has this and I just coincidentally stumbled onto this video.
It sometimes twitches into veryyyy weird screens and stuff.
The solution is open source mobile OS.
The main problem is that modern iOS and Android devices does not give you full control over your phone. You cant disable services you don't want running in the background, restrict internet access to certain processes etc...
Same goes with PC. Windows and Mac OS does not give you full control over your hardware. But unlike mobile industry you still have an alternative, Linux.
Rooting does help a little but yeah nowhere as good
LMAO have you all been asleep since Snowden talked like a decade ago? We've BEEN being spied on. NEW FLASH PEOPLE; you have a home security system, or an Alexa? Lol keep telling yourself it's all private ❤️
@Zach Arbogast rogue company employees are the least we have to worry about. Think broader.
You seriously think the US government has enough people to spy on every person in the US while also spying on everyone they consider a threat outside of the US?
@@Silvance5 no I don't think that. They have complex monitoring systems and A.I. that is not accessible to the public at this time. There isn't a literal human sitting down at a computer spying on every single person's computer or phone, no. Best believe you can be tracked or accessed at any time, for any information though.

it's not even higher than 0.
Each and every phone I’ve had has been hacked, including my current one. Legit I’m just a person trying to exist in this world. If I were anything for anyone to be worried about I’d be untraceable
How do you tell if your phones been hacked
