I feel like I'd rather have a explorer over the chargers. More leg/headroom, easier to get to a rifle, more weight to pit and push cars, more to hide behind if shooting starts. Acceleration isn't as good, but for a city or county car that might have to go offroad, it seems like the better option.
It’s a 3.7L naturally aspirated V6 AWD. The ECU calibration is slightly different than the civilian models, I believe. Example such as the rev limited is lifted until about 7k rpm. The internals are a little more heavy duty since they’re designed to take abuse because the police drive them hard. Heavier duty brakes, stronger alternator. Many things that are designed to be abused opposed to the civilian version
@@The.Car.Guru. sorry but your wrong it is the 3.3 v6 witch ford used for a longtime witch is pretty good and everything else you said was right I am just fact checking
@@utility_tristin it's the most reliable! its just the dreaded water pump the plague these, but meh at least its fixable, and if you pay attention, it'll warn you with a drippy drip.

For an SUV that's pretty fine
Yeah that’s what I thought
That sounds like a strong engine! Is it a V6? Also do you know what they upgrade on these from the standard Ford Explorers?

@@coolsquad7428 yes, the 3.3L is in the new 2020 Interceptor.
sounds pretty nice although im thrown off as to why the analog speedometer reads higher than the digital when its a "certified calibration"
The digital always takes a slight second to catch up. It doesn't update in real time. Like half second updates.
U ever go on chases with it?
What year is this explorer
2015
Gotta love those police interceptors.
How much horsepower does that thing have??? and why is it so slow? especially for a police interceptor that SUV is slow
305 hp v6 3.7L
It's heavy af
Sounds good
TheMilkMan right? I agree!
Is that the 3.5L or 3.7L engine?
3.7L v6 non turbo
