Many thanks Mel, I’ve had a scan and cut machine since the launch (I now own three) but have always avoided MCS as i didn’t think I’d be able to do it and didn’t see how the scan n cut could overlap with it but now you’ve opened up a whole new world to me - I just hope I can find enough time to play! 😃🤗
Hi mel please can you let your viewers know there are 2 versions of cardmakers compendium vol:- 1 elegant & ornate florals,i bought mine from create and craft after 1st video on here, at £40+ and its only thanks to this video that ive realised that its an svg copy( it has svg stamped on top right hand corner) IT WONT WORK WITH MY CRAFT STUDIO AND DOESNT HAVE THE SENTIMENTS ON IT, as you can tell by my preivious post ive been havimg trouble and now i know why so please let others know this before they to but the wrong one
This is great, thank you Mel, but with my CM900 I found I can't cut, to my satisfaction, images that have very thin stems, twigs etc, likewise small images with lots of twiddly bits to cut like fern leaves - a case where bigger is better!
im confused ive got that usb but when i go into mcs the only thing that i can get come up is the card stock so how did you make the floral design could you please do a tutorial thank you
I have tried to do this with fabric but it does not work. I don’t have a printer but I’ve scan it back in and it only picks up the little bits and pieces. I even tried direct cut and cut out and image on fabric. Could someone help me?
OMG had no idea you could do this, only ever seen the pencil fill in to ensure cutting the image correctly. WOW is all I can say you are amazing! You really understand this machine very well and thanks for sharing. Man I'm finally feel like I'm understanding ScanNcut and makes me excited that I'm taking it in and want to try it which believe me says alot as I've had a love /hate relationship with this machine. More hate and just gave up and kept buying dies because was sick of wasting time on trying to get my machine just to load the mat thinking it was my fault. Nope think I was sold two dud mats that I think have been returned by others and the company just put them back on the shelf to sell. I now know do not buy a marked down mat unless it's a shop wide markdown - usually means it has been used and to the naive you get caught out. Learning so much from you guys at Hightlight crafts - THANKYOU SO MUCH!! Really appreciate it. I had my first successful cut out of a card from canvas workspace so happy, I know I still have a lot to learn but it is a start and not being scared of it anymore.
You never cease to amaze me Mel just watch you this is wonderful have been using s & c for years and also mcs can't wait to try this out keep up the good work 🤗
Wow what a game changer I scan a lot of things in and cut them I have mcs and I can use this technique on all the files that I print from my craft studio and make a cutting file for everything and I won’t have to draw a connecting line around everything thank you Mel
Why create a cutting file. I cut items out from MCS just by scanning, never found the need for a cutting file to do this task. I guess Mel believes it is needed, but I cannot think of any advantage.
For those who do not like fussy cutting, and for those that buy dies to cut out images no need if you have a scanNcut, because where there is no dark outside line the scanNcut does not cut properly so the only way previously to overcome this was to pencil the edge in then it would identify correctly to cut. so basically let the machine cut out the image for you or even can make it bigger to have a shadow etc that is why she did this and because another customer asked her the question and she figured out a way to overcome it. And I reckon she is the first to do this as I have not seen another on U-tube everyone just pencils in the missing border. Hope that explains it. cheers

This is brilliant, and makes MCS even better, tried it and it works, thanks. Derek

Didn't know that My Craft Studio is free with Scan n cut machine, did I pick that up right
I did get the free download of my craft studio.
Very helpful, Mel! Thanks.
I followed you down another rabbit whole! What gsm is your paper?
Hi! For card shapes and blanks we tend to use 250gsm, and for print outs and embellishments anywhere from 140gsm :)
How do you spell “micro studio”. I can’t find the app or program. Thank you!

What does the cut amount mean?
