Funny thing about the French Revolution is that it all started with over throwing the monarchy but ended up with an Emperor.
Emperor didn't really represent a monarchy back then, during the Roman years, dynastic changes were often, while the only other country that had officially had a title of Empire was only the Holy Roman Empire which for the most part had electoral monarchy (also the Byzantine to some extend, but Western Europe wasn't too close with them anyway)
French Empire was inspired by the Roman Empire.

@@BritishRepublicsn its emperor is more like "the great commander" seen as a hero to their people instead of a figurehead, commonly in French King (with a few exceptions like Louis XIV, which is why Napoleon and the French people still revered him)

I've always associated this particular arrangement with the "Return of the French Princes to Paris", the anthem of the Bourbon Restoration.

This is Tchaikovsky’s arrangement for the final scene of The Sleeping Beauty.
Wow! This is beautiful! Say what you will about feudalism/aristocracy, the music from that time is amazing! It's oddly similar to communist music, except more refined and less energetic.
And also the buildings.
@@hjgk4568 Yes! The architecture was lovely, they took so much time and care to make these big, beautiful buildings. Much prettier than the modern "metal and glass" skyscrapers that dominate American cities.
You shouldn´t associate feudalism with the Ancien regime tho. It wasn´t a thing for about 200 years before the reign of Louis xiv.

I'd rather have a strong Monarchy then a weak, corrupted and hypocritical president and ministers as it's been the case since the end of WWII. And yes I'm French.
