You get me...I like to share my experiences. James as a RUclips creator I couldn't ask for a more fulfilling comment than yours. Thank you so much happy New Year and ride safe.
Well, made the decision and added a 2023 Ducati Multistrada Rally to my garage!!! Your reviews were a final confirmation of all the other research I had done on the bike. This bike has me grinning ear to ear everytime I’m riding. Just have to keep it close to legal speeds, it wants me to rev it and just go!!!!
The navigation looks like Garmin but with Ducati markings. Was that an add that you had dealer installed??? I would like to add a navigation system. Love your channel because you are very interactive with your viewers/subscribers. Looks like I got the same windscreen, I am waiting on the rear box and the oem crash bars. Blown away by the standard options, though I think I would like the larger touring windscreen that I have seen on some other versions. Seems like some of the European versions of the Rally have a few items we don't see here.
Every time I look at it in the garage I smile...every time. Your comment made me so happy I'm glad you like your Ducati. There's so many great ADV bikes made now, but this bike checks so many other boxes especially performance. My Rally may be promoted to touring only. Ride safe and thank you.
I did get the nav from the Ducati and it is a Garmin. I take it off and use it on another bike also it's very good especially the location on the Rally. I waited almost 4 months for all my accessories I was not happy but that's the price we pay liking Ducati. I'm overdue for a video discussing all my accessories and an update on the bike. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with a new comment for help. BTW new comments I see follow up comments are harder to track. I usually don't see follow up comments.
@@Borderbill1962 You may know the answer to your question already. Installed is the Garmin XT with a Ducati sticker on the Garmin batch. The device and a mount is available from Ducati. The newer Garmin XT2 fits into the mount as well. If you are in the market for the XT2 on the V4 Rally, I would only have the mount fittet from your dealer.
My dream ride you know it. You live in a beautiful area I have to find beauty where ever I can. Thank you for commenting and watching the video ride safe.
Enjoying the content. Subscribed. Also a big fan of Big Rock Moto. Expanding my bike garage, funny in retirement with no kids currently in college, I find myself with a lot more motorcycle money. I'm seeing that you probably use the bike a lot like what I am looking for in a bigger touring bike. It doesn't look like you are going to use it for hard offroad. I agree, if you want to go hard offroad, get a midsize adv bike or a dual purpose bike that weighs 300 lbs.
William we're in the same stage of life but I'm not retired, I'm glad you're enjoying your retirement. Ducati will probably never see anything more than a gravel road. I'll have a series of videos on midsize motorcycles which I'll probably start uploading next week. I will be buying a midsize adv, and a naked sport bike. Big Rock Moto is the best..frankly I purchased the Ducati and my KTM due to his videos confirming my research. Ian cuts a great video and is just so thorough. Let's continue to communicate I'd like to know what bike you end up buying. Ride safe.
You're going to truly enjoy this bike...I debate trading then I ride it and I'm so impressed all over again. Ride safe you have a beautiful motorcycle. Thank you for commenting.
23:18 Wasn't you missing a shift it is a flaw in the quickshifter. This happens with every multistrada v4, it hates going from first to second. Best thing to do is shift manually from first to second.
Waldo this was helpful. The Duke at the dealer today having an alarm installed and I've asked them to look into this. Dealer is calling Ducati Directly to see if there is an adjustment or software update. It does not do this on every 1st to 2nd shift...maybe 1 of 8 but I thought i was relaxing the throttle too much or not forceful with my foot. Thank you for much for helping and being so observant. Happy New Year ride safe.
The Grand Tour has the 19 inch front wheel, but doesn't have the bigger tank, it had a bunch of accessories like the keyless fuel tank, center stand, tpms, etc. and the biggest criticism is that it didn't get the cylinder deactivation mode like the Rally. The Pikes Peak version had the 17 inch front wheel. I think the GT also had a bigger windscreen with wings..
William I made this video on the fly and tried to correct my verbal mistakes with written messages in the video. i agree with you...all the more reason why I believe the Rally to be a superior sport touring machine. I'm sorry I'm responding late to your comment I'm behind. I greatly appreciate your comment please continue to comment on my videos. Ride safe thank you.
Super important question i haven't been able to get an answer to, do you need to have the key in the lock turned to open the saddle bags? As far as i know only the BMW saddle bags are the only ones that let you do that. I was used to my Harley saddle bags i could open on the fly without a key and drop things in
The key is needed to open the paneer and can only be removed when the key is in the locking position...I was annoyed with this at first, but I believe they don't want you to ride with the paneer unlocked as it could blow open and cause an accident...it's a good procedure. I hope this helps you there is no information like this out there...good question ride safe.
@@jn503351 you’re welcome the system works well again I believe the intent is to make sure the paneers are locked when riding…they are my first paneers
I agree with everything said in this video, except that being short and having the lower seat option, the windshield fits absolutely well for me. And despite me being short and despite the weight of the bike, it is very maneuverable at low speed, way more than the Yamaha FJR 1300. The only thing I miss from the FJR is the shaft drive but I can live without. I'm just wondering if I can knee drag with the V4 Rally, as I can with the FJR1300, I'm eagerly waiting for the end of the winter to find out.
You are awesome, and the Yamaha is a great bike also. Shaft drive is an excellent feature I think Ducati doesn't use shafts for weight savings...that my guess anyways. I love that you drag a knee...I may get a naked bike and try to find a track school. I'm an old man trying to learn new tricks. Ride safe and thank you. I like all motorcycles...but this bike just keeps a smile on my face.
@@maraudermitchelli Thanks! I like them all too.... To drag your knee, it takes: the right curve, not too cold, it must be dry, and the right technique. How I learned it: an experimented track racer explained me the basics and then I tried and tried and tried on an Aprilia RS660, on the open road, a nice uphill curve with sight on the exit and excellent tarmac and very little traffic. Once I've got it on the RS660, it was not that hard to make it on the FJR. Practicing on a naked bike is probably a good idea...

when mine broke down with alternator failure and a trip to croatia planned in 5 days time, I was told by BMW the part was not available for 4 weeks, BMW were not prepared to take one off a showroom bike, and would not loan me a bike because its going out of the UK that made my decision for me. now have MS grand tour with all the accessories etc and 4 years warranty. @@maraudermitchelli
