I had the parts for the first analogue handbrake in my eBay basket for about half a year now and never got around to order and build it. I just build your new version today. Cost me about 20€ here in Germany and about 2-3 hours to find a solid setup on my rig. Thank you so much for the awesome idea and your Arduino code! It works like a charm
As a g920 owner and FH4 player i dont feel like i really need a handbrake, and i drive manual so i dont feel like i need to clutch kick, sometimes in really sharp i just hold the button on the wheel that’s the handbrake
Thank you!!!! I’ve been using your first handbrake design (the orange one) for a couple years, decided to learn soldering for a button box that you have on your channel and now I’m confident enough to try this with the arduino! Thank you so much for these videos!
Just finished my handbrake build after following this tutorial. Used a spare set of G27 pedals I had laying around, and man, does this thing rock! Cheers for the idea and guidance with this video!!
dude, thank you very much! made from water pipes and adapters but with your recommendations for software. you are the best. now in Asseto Corso I drive with pleasure! all cost 30 euro
Now this is a good idea. I have an older spare set of pedals laying around incase my main ones die. I might have to make this one up. Keep up the good work. I love your ideas and tutorials.
Your one smart guy! This is awesome I might be getting a g920 to replace my current wheel and if I can source a pedal from Logitech I can make a handbrake for my pc that’s pretty awesome
hey there what a great genius u are,,,i have a stupid question....will the arduino work with PS4??i dont have a PC and since i dont play simracing every day i just chose a console(ps4) to start with!! thanks for the video
if you use a rj12 plug and not an arduino you can connect direct to fanatec v3 pedals or csw2.5 base :) did this a few weeks ago with the logitech brake pedal :)
Fantastic! Is there any chance you could do more handbrake stuff? I want to build one but i dont have much of the required stuff... Can you do like a really simple one?
Hey man. Great idea. Is there a way to connect the handbrake/pedal to a G29 wheel so a button can be asigned in a game to a button thats wired to it?? Theres videos with g29/G920 handbrake mods but your handbrake/pedal looks better. Its for PS4 also.
It will work too, as long as you're using the A0 port too. And your arduino needs to be an authentic one, otherwise, some stuff in the code might differ.
@@DrivewithTony The arduino uno doesn't support the joystick library needed for this project, the pro micro, leo, mega, and others do however the uno does not.
Doing same minus the circuit for PS4. Just assigned and attach a lever to the clutch pedal which I unmount from the rig and placed in a regular e-brake position.
Hey thanks for the video. I just built one and it works fine on pc. I used my spare g27 pedal and an arduino board used long time ago to build a gimix for ps4... Do you mind telling me if you know how to make it compatible with ps4? I usually play on PC and PS4.
Nice one mate, outstanding, love it. Is sacrificing a pedal the only way to add a handbrake to a Logitech? Got a G920 heading my way and I'd love to run a handbrake.
just bought a standard thrustmaster t300 with the two pedal set, and the 3 pedal T-lcm set seperately, might do this with the shitty pedals that come with the t300, i currently just use a button wired to an old keyboard on a lever with rubber bands for a handbrake, lol. this looks like a nice improvement.
i still use the wheel just got better pedals .could i not just disconnect the brake and gas leave the clutch and wrap the wires up im not using and plug in to the wheel ?
I realise this is now a very old video and I’ve had mine for about 3 years but recently broke my Arduino Pro Micro. I found another but whilst trying to reprogram it I struggled with where to put the Joystick folder now as per 2:03 in the video. Can’t seem to find a place to put that folder in the updates Arduino program file system and get it to verify and upload. I am a bit computer illiterate!!!
Hi! Very interesting video! I'im wondering ifit is possible to extend the idea of this project in order to make and analogic accelerate anf brake system for wheelchair people? I'im thinking something like two analog paddles maked using the electronics of the brake and acceletate pedals...
now could you do the tut on how to wire the single pedal to a rj12 plug to use along side my fanatec v3 pedals, i can send you diagram of the wireing to see what goes where for both the rj12 and the pedal, i just cant find rj12 crimpers to do my self,
Fuck yeh, that's a great idea.. just need to find a donor pedal lol.. ive been using a 350z handbrake I modded with a switch to my g920 a while back.. I had a spare from my V35 sedan 6mt swap. works great but it's just an on off switch and a spring feel not hydraulic. Awesome vids mate!!
I have been watching your vidoes for a long time, and i really like your ideas. Do you think you can try to make a diy h shifter that dont require 3d printing??
if you want a momentary switch, get a brake pedal out of a car from your local car wrecker. its super heavy duty, has a shaft and pivot with a switch already attached (which would normally operate your break lights) and sometimes a return spring. then just cut the pedal off and attach a handle (broom stick or pipe) to the shaft. find one that looks suitable and easy to mount to your rig or table. i used a subaru impreza break pedal for mine but just about any will work
I want to make this out of my not-in-use G27 pedals, but I don't have a frame to mount it to like you do, do you have an idea on how to clamp it to a table?
u can do it like this, without the arduino but soldering the wires to the joystick cardboard, i put the board outside the wheel than connected the e-brake wires to the °change view° button. U can do the same with an external shifter (i've some photos on instagram @deccus_beccus).
Hey man I really love your work! Very creative. Here's my question : I have an old pair of pedals from a logitech driving force pro (or GT, can't remember now) that I'll tear open for this. My question is can I connect it to a USB encoder board (I have a couple laying around) to get a similar result? Thanks
I know this is an older video and I am not sure if what I am asking will make any sense. Would it be possible to use a nano board in place of a pro micro?
How didbu attach the board to wheel to stop it moving around ect? I did this mod n ended up wiggling the dam thing apart. Worked perfectly to startwith tho
im sure its possibe but would most likely require different software and possibly a different setup or arduino board. another guy in the comments said you can get the g27 pedal pots from ebay for $20. you could probably adapt the g27 pot to your pedal without too much modding. you would have to pull yours apart and see

im still amazed logitech or thrustmaster dont make a cheap simple handbrake system like this, if they did it would sell millions

Alexander Jevdokimenko who needs pedals when you’ve got handbrakes
hahaha
@Boom Bitch where i can buy a single pedal? Btw the brake would be better
You can now make driving simulator for people who can't use legs now.
Man-Ung Yi Good idea.

I want to see a video of the full setup with all the DIY things you made in your videos...
I agree, that would b e amazing.
I was just thinking about doing this today with my old pedals and now this pops up how cool... thanks for the upload!
That was simple, quick and easy. Very good you are the best DIY channel on RUclips, congratulations!!
Do you maybe have the arduino library for me?
Just did this mod with my g25 brake pedal ! And I cant thank you enough ! Works like a charm, feels awesome! Made me save over 200$
Awesome Enjoy!
I dont own a steering wheel, and i dont even like racing games at all... yet i still find your chanel amazing.
Very nice as always ! Thanks for sharing us your ideas ! AMstudio is the best simracing diy channel 👍👍
Thanks Yam!
And you can even tune it by changing the spring or adding a rubber piece (like the G29 brake has) to make it stiffer. Great mod, as always!

Huge thanks for this mod. I just did it on a T3PA-PRO brake pedal.
Hey man about to do the same. Gonna make two one for me and my mate
nice work, just perfect second life for logitech pedal.
You can do this for and wire it up to a rj12 cable and use it for the csp v3s
so i can use the logitech pedal as hanbrake and connect it to my v3 fanatec pedals? how? :)
Thanks so much! This was a fun project.
I have a ps2 fanatec speedster wheel and pedals, would this be a similar process? thanks for the tutorial 🙏🙏
Can u plz make a vid on your whole truck sim setup??btw love the vids
Just finished it, thank You!!!!!
thanks. I just bought a broken g25 set just for the shifter, now I've got somewhere to use the pedals...

Damn, this is huge brain plays.
This is awesome!! Perfectly explained!
But my question is can I buy a completely different set of pedals and keep my original wheels in tact and it still work ?
Thank you for the video I want to start building one , but we can use any type of sim wheel like cheap ones or we have to look for padel from logitech
