We drove down from Canada and spent a week in NYC. I drove to Wayne NJ and went to the store on Thursday afternoon just before closing - sorry I missed you - picked up the last few Springsteen I needed on CD and LP to complete my collection.
Very cool visit. I have not been at sound exchange in a while. Still have some $ left on my gift card. I totally get it about Sound Exchange. What an awesome Store!! Hi to #Anthony and #Ted.
Brendan fantastic that you now put those little comments in as you’re picking out each compact disc record etc. It really makes it much better for someone to want to go on by the album
They’re a local NJ band and the only reason I found the album was the store had it on consignment from the band. Meaning there is no distributor, the band has to make a deal with the store to carry it.
Sound Exchange would be a 2hr drive for me; been thinking of taking the trip. Are there other record stores in the area ? I would like to make a day of it. I can see I would buy a ton of stuff at Sound Exchange as I am a CD guy again.
Back in 1979, this store was known as Looney Tunez, a record store owned by Chris Carter, bassist of the band Dramarama, known for their 80s hit "Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)". The basement of that store is where Dramarama started.
@@BrendonSnyder Yes. I attended an Uncle Floyd signing there back in 1981 or so, when I was 7, and have pictures from that day. You can see in them that it’s the same place. I spent a lot of my 20s there after it had become Sound Exchange, previous to the current owners. In fact, I recall being in the store the moment the news came on and announced that OJ Simpson was a fugitive from justice and the infamous white Bronco chase began!
Yeah it all just comes down to our schedules. I used to work remote which allowed me to film on his schedule but now I’m back in an office and he doesn’t work weekends. But when possible we always try to film.
Hey dude...what song is playing when you showed the dead daisies and deep purple cds....I am pretty sure its david coverdale singing, just don't know the song..
I love Sound Exchange! I like about an hour away from there, but I took the trip up there last week. I’ve been a CD guy my whole life, but recently started dabbling with vinyl. Very good prices on used records
Hi Brendon , watching from Ireland only a couple of weeks or so but love your channel and your massive collection . When u go to the record shops , do you have a database with you in case you buy any duplicates?
Brendon, just wondering if your mom ever moved in with you? I remember some earlier videos saying that she was going to move up from Florida. Wondered how that has affected your listening habits in your house. I know having another person in the house has changed what I play all the time.
Yes she did move in, all is well. Hasn’t affected my music listening mostly because I’ve never been one to listen to my music loudly. I’ve always preferred my music at a normal volume. She’s also very respectful of my space and allowing me time to listen. 👍
Here in Oslo, Norway theres only one regular record store left and its not that impressive. Specialist record store for metalheads exist but Im more of a 60s pop guy and 70s singer songwriter guy so the second hand shop Råkk and Råll is a Godsent.
Brendon, since you're in a Metal mood, you should give the new A7X a try. I know they're not your cup of tea, but this new album is just so amazing (and frankly very different from what they've done before). I've listened to it every day since it came out. Just sayin'... 🙂 Cheers.
I love me some Raging Slab! Saw them open for Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Mother's Milk tour at a small club in Philly. It was funny to see the Peppers come out during Slab's set wearing only tube socks in a conspicuous place and dance around the band! 😂

Mom just passed away in her sleep. She was a fan of your videos. Jamming to Iced Earth (My mom loved Iced Earth).
My condolences/. Sorry for your loss
Im sorry to hear that. Savor the memories.
@@BrendonSnyderThanks.
May she rest in peace. Was she sick or just went off peacefully hopefully.
Sorry to hear this! R. I. P.
Yes my favorite "unintentional ASMR" segment on your channel.

Agree, but you don't leave them up long enough for me to look at the cover and still have time to read it!
Thanks for checking us out!
Not to mention we also played a show with Night Demon. They rule!
You should do another meet up over there. That was fun last year. 😊
Great video!

We have physical copies of Cutting Class on vinyl in our Big Cartel store. We also have cassettes.
Cool record store! I love all these record store visit vids. Ever heard of Emerald City Council (a friend's band)?
Night Demon is cool

I've been going there for years I'll be 60 this October I was going there when I was in my teens brings back memories 😅
I'll check out those new bands. Donner party sounds pretty good. Reminds me of Municipal waste a little . Good episode 👍
I agree and thought of Municipal Waste as well who I’m a big fan of too.
@@BrendonSnyder i remember you getting the last album. Really liked it👍
We live the compliment. We don’t party as hard as MW but we definitely eat pizza.

This place looks a lot like Birdland Records and Tapes in Virginia Beach...
I agree X factor is a great album by maiden.
Omen,Metal Church,Loudness,Savatage...! Killer albums by awesome bands.
Love your videos.😎
Thanks Jeff! 👍
Awesome metal video. Will you do videos with Anthony again? I miss you guys discussion rock.

What was that kiss being played over and over in same spots of songs
The Kiss album playing was Animalize.
I got the Kix, Kiss, Bon Jovi from the BMG cassette for pennies, loved that back in the day.😎🎧
Did the same but on CD. It’s a shame they don’t still exist. To be honest, I’m surprised they haven’t created something like it for records.
What was night demon like Brendon
Turned out to be really good! Definitely recommend checking them out.
Hey dude...what song is playing when you showed the dead daisies and deep purple cds....I am pretty sure its david coverdale singing, just don't know the song..
I think it’s Whitesnake Don’t Break My Heart Again.
Love that new Night Demon, Jarvis is also the current bassist in Cirith Ungol.
In background I heard MOD maybe
Nope all of the thrash music was Donner Party
Hope you enjoy Night Demon. Such a great band.
Amazing band.
I seen C.O.C. and Helloween. I have Helloween Treasure Chest, I want Out. C.O.C....Albatross and Clean my Wounds
I say it again i wish that were record stores like that in my area
Thanks for another great SE video, never get tired of these!
Have a great weekend 😎
You’re very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
The death Angel vinyl u pick up is really good
To be honest this a very good store ❤. Difficult to leave with your empty hands.

If you need a new Record Store to visit try the Man Cave in Hightstown NJ. Kind of a ride for you. Great place and the owner Randy is a character.
I love that they have a KISS related section. I’ll make my way to the store some day.
Deep Purple 'Burn', Hughes/Turner AND Voodoo Hill?? The universe is telling you to make that Glenn Hughes Top 10 album video. THX Brendon!
Great show 🎉❤
