- For this series I’ll be taking you with me through New York & New Jersey to various Music Stores & Record Shows. Sifting through CD’s, vinyl, and whatever else the stores have to offer. Then at the end I’ll un-bag the loot and discuss why I chose the ones I did. Come on…let’s go to the record store!

I like hearing Anthony’s phone calls in the background - they’re quite amusing. “You’ve got the wrong Sound Exchange” lol
What a mouth-watering selection! It's a crime there aren't more stores like this everywhere. Protect this place at all costs!
There’s something special about walking into a nice record store, the charm of it, the selection at your fingertips. Can’t have places like this just go away.
Anthony is the best just listening to him in the background is amazing. I do like that he put in pull out drawers that's awesome idea. I wish more stores would do that.
The background rants from Anthony are amazing! Reminds me of my local record shop owner. "Put vinegar in my soup".😅
Love the ranting and raving only Anthony can provide. Hearing you guys talk about the price of vinyls going up isn't a good sign for business. Sure hope he's doing well enough to keep the lights on in these tough economical times. That's why it's important to support local businesses and help keep the brick and mortar stores open before they become a thing in the past.
That’s exactly why I make this videos to remind people how great local record stores are and that they should be visited in person whenever available.
Tremendous seeing the hand picked CDs Love it. Brendon great job 👍💯
Anthony has done a superb job with this record store. I would be in there all day, there is so much to browse through!
Sound Exchange (Wayne, NJ) record store looks amazing. Anthony has done a great job. 🤘
Yes indeed! 👍
It’s funny how you can hear Anthony in the background dropping f bombs or some random swear on occasion or discussing something with someone in person or on the phone . That dude is a busy man and bet he is a trip to hang with and listen to some rants and have a good laugh. Nice video.
At one point, I heard Anthony refer to someone as a dick face.
@@TripRonyeah heard that. We’ll his favorite saying is “Don’t be a Dick”
@@vergevinyl Yep. Good stuff!
i love all the out of context lines from him. lol
you're right, Alice Cooper - Thrash album is great !
Hands down my favorite album by him. But I do love the classic albums from the original band. You can’t deny those either.
it's true than Alice also made great songs during this period, for my part, the period I like the least is the beginning of the 80s with a more new wave style with albums like "Zipper Catch Skin" and "Da Da"@@BrendonSnyder
I’ll always give a thumbs up when Sound Exchange is in a video!
The amount of stuff and stock Anthony has is insane. He has stuff I’ve never seen in stock at any record store and stuff i thought was out of print.
Mostly it is out of print but he always seems to have a copy of whatever I am looking for.
I so wish I could hang out with you guys in the store, but I live in Arizona.
Nice to see some Thin Lizzy love, did you ever pick up the Rock Legends box set? Really good 🤘
Yep I own it and even did a review and unboxing of it!
This really is a great record store & run by a very passionate proprietor in Anthony. Wish it 3,000 miles closer😂. Mind you, I would probably soon end up very broke!
I think this is your favorite record store. Brendan. It’s much better organized now with the new owner. Before the owner was friendly a tall chubby baldheaded guy. But everything was packed in much too tightly. Now it’s easy to look around so much stuff to buy.
Awesome record store, nothing like this close to me
Wow, what a record store. Don’t see too many of these places where I’m at. Could spend hours just browsing.
4:44 I have the OG version of Green Jelly on cassette when they were still Green Jello
I’ve got it on CD fortunately and cherish it
Great Show
Thanks! 👍
I haven't been to sound exchange since 1992.
I order online because I have to. I would love a record store like that!!!!!I I could spend hours there!!!If Anthony ships I'd rather support a small business store rather than Amazon etc. Love these videos....get to see different things. Thanks Brendon!!!!
The variety in there is pretty amazing
I should visit and load up on some CDs for the car. I am mostly a rekkid guy, but I love having a CD player in the car. Looks like a fantastic selection there.
Its a good little store. I always find something there.
I’d like to live there 24/7.
Sometimes I feel like I do! 😂😂😂
I had that Angel live album when I was a kid...had not seen that cover since!
Awesome , thanks !!!
Saw the pull out drawers there, I am in the process of finishing a 4 drawer cabinet that holds 1200 CD's. Will probably make a 2nd one soon. I didn't want to use display shelves again due to space limitations. Only other option is to buy something and I only found 1 company in Toronto that makes them but the price is super high and the shipping cost almost as much as one of their cabinets.
I was just listening to the first KKs priest. Sounds better and better to me. Liking the new one
Cool to see The Pretender 7"
wow. surprised to see the first Tantric album on vinyl. i mean, i still love that album but i didn't think anyone else cared about it enough, especially the label.
Nice. Didn't know you were a fan of Gunship.
Are the CDs you pulled out alphabetically at the start of the video new or used?
I wouldn't mind to have that Mike Watt, Ball Hog or Tug Boat album on the wall there. For the right price that is... Nice.
You never show any Rory Gallagher cd's? Are they to buy in the US?
Anthony has a Rory box set in stock. It’s pictured on the store’s IG page
how much is the uncle sam lp,
I bought it long time ago 😀👍
IDK, you’ll have to pause the video and look at the price tag on the backside.
we need a drinking game (depending on whether you lift your index finger or your pinky or both) when you flip each CD over to show us the back
You don’t like how I hold my CDs? 😂
@@BrendonSnyder no it's fine LOL
Wow,,,was that a japanese issue of atom mother heart??😮
How much was he asking for that Peter Gabriel picture disc set?
I want that Skid Row : The Atlantic Years (1989 - 1996) box. It has a price of 49,98$ over there and here (Finland) it cost 76,99€.
Hey Brendon!!
Can you ask Antony if he will send me one of his shop stickers/flyers???!!
The one he picks up and reads his shop phone number from!!
I would love to call in and get one in person but unfortunately I follow your channel from South Wales, UK!!
I love your channel. You and Antony make a great double act! I wish we had stores like Antonys around here.
Happy Christmas to you both. Looking forward to catching up with your channel in 2024.
Just reach out to him via the email I posted in the video. That’s the best way to get a hold of Anthony.
Does anybody here know of a way to smooth out crinkled CD back paper insert? I just bought a used CD off ebay and the back paper insert has some water damage which apparently caused the paper to have creases when it dried.
Hi brendon why is the new Peter gabriel album green in uk but red in US👍
It’s the same in both the US & UK…the red (I call it orange) is the 2 CD, the green is the 3 disc featuring 2 CDs and BluRay.
Thanks 🤟
Kiss-debut was levykauppa äx in Finland
5,50€
Anthonys place are=Levykauppa äx ..in Finland....
Sonic Youth “Dirty” there
Thanks for posting Anthony's e-mail address. Maybe I'll get an answer to a previous question he didn't answer from a prior Brendon video. Was kind of disappointed it got ignored. So I'll try again.
Keep in mind Anthony doesn’t run this channel so it’s unlikely he will respond to a question you ask him here. He is just a guest on my channel. You’ll have better luck sending him a DM through instagram.
@@BrendonSnyder Yes. I really get that. Thank you for the heads up. And again, nothing personal. Keep up the good work with these videos 👍👍.
Ironic I just finished listening to Cinderella's "Night Songs" and "Still Climbing"
I would come by however I do not have a new car yet. Long story.
A 3.5% transaction fee for any credit or debit card use, lol.
That’s happening everywhere…can’t escape it anymore. Most places don’t even tell you they just charge you so I like that I’m made aware of it. Just the cost of doing business.
Ted is even better with politics 🇺🇸
Might be touring under the name however imo Pantera is dead as Abbott brothers.
Edit #1: When Alex VH passes would anyone have the audacity to tour under the Van Halen banner? Smfh over "Pantera" tour.
Alex Van Halen doesn’t make Van Halen, it’s Eddie that did that and why no one will ever tour as Van Halen. Vinny didn’t make Pantera either, Dime certainly but he was no Eddie Van Halen and his sound can easily be recreated. The focus of Van Halen was never the frontman, it always centered on the guitar. Pantera was centered on the band and not just the guitar. Also Van Halen is the name of someone. Pantera is not. There are sooooooo many reasons why it works for Pantera but never would for Van Halen. Not really the right band for a comparison. That said there are tons of bands out there touring without original members. Kiss did it for 50 years and we’re just fine having their singer and bassist as the only original members. But even that’s a completely different situation. For me it also matters who are the people who are brought in to fill the shoes of the ones who are gone and Pantera did it right with two guys who were not only friends but also big names in their own right. Pantera is now like a super group.
@@BrendonSnyder
Point taken however tour under any name but Pantera.
Black Flag
Sorry dude, but had to give a thumbs down. You brought your POLITICAL leanings into the vid (the Ted Nugent part). Music is an escape from that crap and some of the people might just agree with Nugent. Years ago Michael Jordan was asked ( when Air Jordan's came out) a political question and didn't want to answer, was to paraphrase " half the people will buy my shoes, I want the other half to buy them too".
Ask the store owner if he talks that way to customers, he might tell you "I don't do it "
Cool shop though, glad the guy is doing good business.
Whatever bro, my point was only that I don’t need politics in my music either and Ted employs them too much. So your comment is a little hypocritical.
@@BrendonSnyder Sorry dude I said YOUR political leanings not his. you don't like it, don't buy it.
I don't like Bruce Springsteen and other artists political views, doesn't mean I won't buy their music.
I'm just saying leave the crap out of your videos, just ask the Dixie Chicks how its working out for them these days.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah thumbs down
