Theres something so unbelievably raw in this video that it really looks real even though its not, the way the microphone explodes when people are screaming, the rawness of the violence, how the camera often focuses on people who legitimately don't seem to be aware of whats going on, it's a masterpiece of cinematography

This video is a masterpiece. Love the end. As the music changes, they are coming for the cameraman. No one will escape violence. That s a pretty dark conclusion.

The last sentence can be traducted by "Do you like filming that, motherfucker". So the message is more around the fact, that they did all that because of the attention the camera gave them. That was more against the TYV channel who thrives around showing violence and making miserable people more miserable.

Its because both this videoclip, and the movie is focussed on the Parisian ghettos, which has a certain demographics, people, clothing, style and just a general vibe that is authentic to that area. Its like comparing a videoclip and movie that is both set in South-Central Los Angeles. People will see a lot of similarities in that as well.

I love how this video really depicts "stress" in this way. A group of youths frustrated and stressed about their welfare and the future? Lashing out at society and bringing misery to others. It's very beautiful in an indescribable way. Like the emotion is being literally personified here.

Some may see race, immigration, or gang activity as the "stressor" in this context and provide examples from the video to express that opinion. Personally, I took this as a youthful rebellion type stress emotion from the video. I actually enjoy seeing the different conclusions people come to.

Everytime Justice has depicted this song, it's always come across just the way it's supposed to be: An overload. Whether it's the Woman Worldwide Live Stress remix where they flood the auditorium with light, or this music video, it's such a raw, stressful experience. Just as the name entails.

It's called sampling, a typical practice in electronic music. If you notice there is a lot of sampling in Cross, although they used them so brilliantly that it fits right into Cross' style.

Sampling means doing the analogue-to-digital conversion (ADC): you can sample the electric signal from your microphone or any analogue playback device (vinyl, video/audio tape ...). Ripping means extracting already-sampled data from a digital container (CD, video file, game ...). I don't think Justice got his hands on an analogue videotape, so he didn't have to sample it, he just had to rip it.

I was first shown this music video by an anarchist girlfriend I had at the time and was nothing short of horrified, lol. But nowadays I can appreciate the cinematography and understand that the shock, for better or for worse, is an intended effect and part of the message. Definitely one of the boldest and best directed music videos of all time, alongside Smack my Bitch Up.

Funnily enough, I heard about this song from Lady Gaga, who recommended this as one of her all time top 10 must listen songs, or something like that.
At 0:07 the beginning of this has the sample & compositions of MODEST MUSSORGSKY’S “Night on Bald Mountain” in turn they stretched out the melodies to make it their own. Brilliant!!!
