What an impressive addon! Thank-you so very much, Mark, for sharing this introduction into A2A’s Comanche 250 with us. My name is “Guerry”, I am from the States, and although I have not purchased this addon, I have viewed several introductory videos from others. Indeed, this is the most complete and real to life aircraft simulator I have seen for MSFS. A2A has done its homework exceptionally well and its engineers have created an impressively accurate model. However, as close to real life as this aircraft is, one has to remember it is not a true to life simulator (something I always forget when on MSFS). We are still beholden to A2A’s creation. Nevertheless, for its reasonable price (i.e., A true to life simulator runs into the millions of U.S. dollars.) one definitely gets that for what he has paid.
Although someone who is a beginner with MSFS will be able to enjoy flying it in an easy (cannot crash) mode, it seems to require a skilled pilot to totally enjoy all this aircraft has to offer. Furthermore, it might be worth browsing its POH to take advantage of all its optional settings (desertflying.club/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/N8151P-Pilots-Operating-Handbook-and-FAA-Approved-Airplane-Flight-Manual.pdf). Again, please note that I have not purchased this aircraft but have spent several hours studying the reviews of other well-seasoned MSFS pilots, who have pointed out its plus and minuses. Nevertheless, all have given it RAVE reviews.
A2A has divorced its Comanche 250 from as much dependence on MSFS as possible by essentially created a program within a program. As such, I am amazed at the detail the company has delivered. The initial walk around inspection not only adds realism, but also it adds a measure of fun to operating this aircraft. One thing I have yet to see is if it will reveal water, sediments, or any other contaminates in the fuel bled from the tanks. But other than that, its detail is enough to provide enjoyment and not be distracting for a flight. For who really wants to spend 15+ minutes with a walk around inspection? Could its exterior be better detailed? Indeed, yes it could. But if I decided to purchase this aircraft, I would buy it to enjoy flying and could care less if it did not win a beauty contest.
I am floored by the instrument panel’s resolution. I am able to view each instrument’s calibration from the pilots normal position without having to zoom in, change position, or excessively alter the center point of view. For fun, and if possible Mark, when you make your full flight review, would you please zoom in on the liquid compass? I am curious to see if its deviation card is complete and the compass works according to it. As a pilot, I always compensated for deviation for my flight planning.
By the way, this is the first aircraft review of yours I’ve seen. I am glad to see you taking off of a soft field. I enjoyed seeing how well the Comanche performed on it.
There is one other thing I would like to see included on the instrument panel. On all the aircraft I have flown and in which I have ridden, there was a cigarette lighter, and its port was often used to power personal accessories. I would need this to power my beer cooler. I AM JOKING!
I am so very impressed with the workmanship A2A has poured into creating the Comanche 250. The jury is still out in regards to me purchasing it. For I am not a big fan of Piper, although the company does produce great aircraft. However, I would be among the first to purchase a Cessna 210 (especially a turbo or pressurized version) if A2A created it. Thank-you again Mark, for making this introduction. I do look forward to the full review you mentioned.

Hang on a minute... did you say the flight dynamics run external to the sim? i.e. it's running the simulation in an external program and sending the flight data to MSFS? If that's true, then it should be possible to integrate X-Plane's flight dynamics with MSFS scenery. Somebody please do this!

    Hi Mark,
I have this Com250 in P3D, but every time I start my P3D, this plane starts with the engine running.
Then I turned everything off and saved this as a starting scenario.
But when I start that scenario, the Com250 comes back with a running engine, main switch and NAV lights on.
I have already submitted this question to A2A, but I have not received an answer.
