What about a 24 fretted mj san dimas with only two humbuckers? I bought the 24 fretted hss mj black san dimas with gold hardware and i absolutly still love this guitar.
i wish the two with the pau ferro fretboards need darker finished headstocks, either matching to the body, or just black with a white logo on them. as is they stand out like a sore thumb a bit. kinda the same problem with the MIM JEL model, it needs a matching headstock desperately. the Carribean Burst one looks perfect, but i just bought a pro-mod SD two moths ago, that looks too similar to justify a purchase now.
Black headstock always looks great with a dark fretboard. Idk who really loves quilt maple to justify it being so prevalent on metal oriented guitars, as it is today. Nowadays everything is quilt maple, burl, pastels and pinks, or invisible gloss black.
So I have one of these guitars. It sounds awesome is super fun to play, but I can’t for the life of me keep it in tune for more than 30 seconds. I stretched the strings I locked the nut. I adjusted the little spin wheel things. I can get it in tune but if I do anything at all it goes way out. Can’t do like different tunings without a big long to do. I’m not use to the Floyd rose, I don’t think I can do it. I’d much rather have a fixed bridge
did you stretch out the strings first? and are you sure your nut is locked down ? after that theres no reason it shouldn't hold tune perfectly especially with a floyd bridge , which can and do seem daunting at first but like anything else become easier to use the more experience you have with them, i'd also suggest ordering a shredneck tremlock to hold your bridge level for string changes and resetting your fine tuners or changing tunings , there are a ton of videos about floyd rose bridges on youtube which is where i learned how to change strings on mine or change tuning etc
Pau ferro is not a cheap wood. Suhr uses pau ferro on their modern line too! Btw if you want a pau ferro fingerboard on a custom suhr, you even have to pay more.
@@greekfreak1980 I didn't say anything about it being cheap. It was on the SRV Strat many many years ago which at the time was on of the few signature models. I just don't like it and in general, many people who like this type of guitar usually don't either. It's become associated with "cheap" though because Fender tends to put it, today at least, on their more inexpensive models. Some people love it, I'm just not sure it's a good decision from a marketing / selling standpoint. If I get one it would be the maple now.
Thank you Schecter, I've been a fan of your forward thinking, of course I'm very biased because I'm a Strat guy from way back, I'm getting this!!!! For real pickups push the guitar way past the new PRS SE line which have dull sounding pickups
Superstrat, evolution. Of course, MJ=Made in Japan, but I always think momentarily "Michael Jackson". I still bought one, though. "Dragon" green, as my girlfriend calls it.
@@-SILON it’s because stainless steel KILLS guitars strings. They wear out 3-4 times quicker than conventional material frets. I build guitars and I steer people away from SS if I can. I live in California though, so we don’t have to worry about rust. That’s the only pro to stainless.
@@alexcorona if the fret is well polished, how would it wear strings away quicker? i didn't experience that with all my stainless equipped guitars, the string "wear" is the same as on the one with german silver frets equipped ones. then again, i think stainless steel frets are an overrated feature.
Good to see MJs on the market again!
Oh my goddddddd . It's amasing
I’ve got a Arctic White “Charvel San Dimas SD1 model guitar." And I love it ❤

Most excellent guitars!
But you have to go back in time and marry a princess to learn how to play it
I did that too, it's a feature in the case. Only works on solstices.
bring back charvels with top-mounted Floyd's !!!
They still sell the USA models with one.
I love the maple neck one
it will become dirty as hell in two weeks bcz of oiled neck
@@theSmolniy i don't care
I'll be getting the trans-green 🙂
I did. It's fangasmic!
is Nuno a Charvel endorser now? hehe
are these veneer tops? or real quilted maple?

Are the quilted tops veneers?
Just ordered the 2024 version in Snow white hss
Does any of the 3 of these guitars come with a case?
Badass
You couldn't do a rosewood fretboard?
It is a charvel strat should be look like in the future
bring back the Desolation Star pls 🙏
I’d pick up that Holcomb Burst one in a heartbeat if it had stainless steel frets. I have a couple Ibanez’s with them and I won’t ever go back.

Hard Tail Version ??
The only high end feature is the gotoh bridge
Lets see a left handed model of it
It’s 2023..SS frets please!!!
Eh…after owning a high ends guitar with stainless frets, I’m perfectly happy with nickel frets.
Why Pau Ferro and not Rosewood, the import worries have subsided... :(
Cheaping out to make a profit wherever possible.

@@masamune9082 Very clever marketing
As already mentionend Pau Ferro is definitely not cheap, Reb Beach's Suhr sign. model has a Pau Ferro fingerboard and that thing is expensive af.

is that holcomb burst???
Looks like it
When is Charvel going to add SS frets to non-custom shop, mass production models? Solar, Ibanez, ESP LTD, Harley benton does it. C'mon Charvel
These guitars should have stainless steel frets and satin urethan finish on the back of the neck. But they are not. I'm not sold.

What´s the name of the song?
I like noodling by Icheban.😃
Why not make the fretboard out of recycled chai lattes & UGG boots??? Enough men nowadays put up with that tone.
Fuiyoh
WTF no stainless steel frets….😂
Agreed
Eh… stainless steel frets aren’t so they’re cracked to to be. I have 11 guitars that span over nearly 30 years with no refretting.
No Left Handed? 😢😭

Only nice finnish is the blue one. The other two looks like someone puked on the guitars.😜
Another cheap-assed, overpriced guitar with NICKEL frets? Come on, Fender!
Is it really too hard to do hardtails? 🤷 Come on Charvel, its not the 80s anymore
