this is probably the most excited I've ever been for a piece of gear. with the swappable firmware this is probably the best value sound source on the market, rivaling the legendary plaits in versatility and sound pallete.
I have two BIA’s that I use constantly. Very excited to be able to get another and then flash firmware when I need a change. That sold me on the Versio platform as well. Such a smart approach…. Awesome.
I thought I'd missed out on BIA. This is great news! I don't know if the original BIA dd the same, but push and turn for coarse tuning is smart. An accidental touch will only affect fine tuning. Really good design there. The envelope out is also a very nice touch. I have a shopping list of your gear ahead of me... Between now and next summer, I'm planning on the BI Alia, Quantus Projecta, Tymp Legio, Jam Jam, Lapsus Os (I tried before, but vendor was out of stock...) and Polydactyl Versio. That gets me on all 3 platforms, plus envelopes and trigger delays and a hands on controller to add to my other cases. Also, one of my 3 local vendors (the main one, sadly) has just closed their modular department, so I am now reduced to 2 local sellers, one of which operates more as a hobby than a business, so options tend towards what that person likes, rather than an open field. The other one happens to stock a lot of your gear though, so my current plan will work out okay. I'm really looking forward to getting those 3 main platform modules and trying out some of your other stuff.
Today is July 12th but I still haven't received my basimilus..😢 There is an impressive delay at customs in holding my order.. when it arrives I have to make up for all the lost time I'll put him under stress.🤤 ..
Wow, what's creating the kinda sound chained tuned percussion sound on the baseline patch? Mesmerising. Shows that two of them is the way to go. The interplay is stunning.
It’s exactly the same except for an envelope out option and a fine tune adjustment on the pitch knob… and that you can load alternate firmware which is awesome 😎

Guys i love your stuff but having to take the module out, connecting a USB cable is really unrealistic. Why can't there be a front loading USB card? I'd would make this an easy dream.
Probably wouldn't be too awful difficult to rig up a 1-2hp expander if you're anticipating the need to switch firmwares regularly, though an official one from NE would be pretty cool~

It's a new chipset that is shared by BIA and two other modules, with more to come. You buy one of them, and then you get all of them for free by the ability to flash the different firmwares onto the one you bought. The blog post on their website announcing the end of the original line, as well as the one announcing this one, have more info. Do you also need to "stimulate" the trigger input with a square wave In the new module to produce a drone like in the old BIA?

I see the pitch has changed to an encoder. How does the pitch input behave, coarse tuning?
It behaves like Manis now: turn for fine tuning, push for coarse. It's far harder to knock it out of tune accidentally. Ask us how we know...

@@KPsTboy The pitch CV input is an unquantized, 1V/octave-scaled input. You can modulate it with anything you like!

I thought that too, or even a card on the backside and you load the firmware with a button combo when it's turned on.
just buy the intellijel usb extender, 2hp & you'll have front access to the usb
