I would suggest you get a electronic microscope and look through it at higher magnification. My buddy also complained about 8’s and 9’s with PSA but when you look under the microscope, you can usually find the issue when grades are 8 and below. So far I’m at 75% to 25% PSA 10 to PSA 9 and I do a through look through under microscope.
As a rule of thumb, I don't think that trying to cross from BGS to PSA is really a very good idea. They just grade differently, and I think that what they each emphasize works out poorly to cross that way. Usually BGS is way too easy on corners compared to PSA and it can absolutely kill you when PSA gets ahold of the card.
PSA has become a complete Joke bro! i sent in 22 cards recently and received 1 -10, mostly 8 and 9 and 2 - 7. all super modern 2020 and higher and all betwen $100 and $500 per card raw value. sent 2 of the 8's to BGS that were $500 cards a Burrow Kaboom and a Bane Gold Auto, BGS gave me 9.5 with good subgrades. PSA trying to control the 10 population and its easy to see now plus they got alot of unexperienced graders. but until they start putting subgrades and let us know why.... they control the game! I'm done grading with them personally and just sent 25 cards to BGS last week. good luck in the future.

If 2 separate companies grade the same exact card a 7....its a 7. You can say sorry all you want and disagree with the grade...but it is what it is. I think alot of people that try the crossover gamble get lucky to a certain extent. But when they come up short...you hear alot of sour grapes along with a side of narcissism in the attempt to make whatever they're preaching sound like gospel or transcendent in some way. This is correct. To many people was talking bad about psa being to loose so they got tougher. Honestly i think folks should have kept there mouth shut. How I know this is I regularly submit cards to psa and in the last year they have gotten pretty cruel on the gradeing. Out of the 6 years I have been subing cards in to them this year has definitely been the most harsh.
POP report has a lot to do with PSA Grading. Watch RUclips video cracking out psa 9 and sending back to PSA And got back 50 percent 10 PSA on modern cards are very unreliable. PSA reputation is going down
You know...when I watch you guys reopen slabs and submit NUMBERED cards...u can't help but wonder...why you think grading services would even look at it again?... its literally serial numbered....you don't think these companies keep logs?? They already knew those cards were graded...but already knew what grade it was given...all you're doing is wasting money.

PSA has "expert" graders right? Wrong! People just got trained and have no idea on how to actually grade. Don't expect new employees working for a company with a reputation to give you accurate grades. Stick with SGC and in time you'll be happier you did.

They buy cards and they grade them themselves and sell on their own auction sight. They are dishing out psa 9’s like crazy because they are increasing their own psa 10’s. A huge recession is coming and they are scraping every last dollar they can at your expense. I didn’t renew my subscription because I can see what they are doing. They are giving you guys 9’s and giving themselves 10’s.
They make sure to always give a few tens, on the semi stars or newer not popular players. Now if ur mailing address was Geoff Wilson’s then those herberts and Brady’s would be straight tens. Guaranteed
On the Tom Brady 2008 it actually looks like there is a thumb print on it take a look at the video ? Or is it just a reflection? Maybe that’s why it got a 7
For example that Justin Herbert Legendary Logos originally getting dingged on edges and you were showing looking at the face of the card and seeing no white. Yes that can be true but edges are inspected from the side where there is white. Especially the thicker the card the more potential problems with edges.
I agree with that, but this particular card is standard thickness. No rough edges and no whiting on either side. My opinion the surface was worse than the edges.
On the Brady Gold Holofoil X (i have bad eyes) I seen a dinged corner on it. You really need a magnifying glass to look over the cards. It will show flaws the naked eye can not see.
Send the Ken Griffey to SGC and then you will have all three major graders looking at that card. I would love to see the grades from each of them in a video.
Id NEVER crack a non-chromium card if it has a BGS surface sub grade below 9.0. If its a chromium card then there is a chance the surface can be cleaned . PSA usually focuses more on corners and surface. You may be missing something on corners - try looking at the corners with a 10x loupe. sometimes you see it at 10x mag. Good example is that Griffey. I could see 2 corners were already questionable by the naked eye, which means under a loupe they are worse...those 2 will knock you down to at least a 9 9maybe 8). BGS surface of 9 does not mean perfect...probably means print line or scratch so its not a perfect surface to PSA as well, which is another grade knock down. You are at an PSA8 without even really inspecting the card completely (edges, centering).
My man, if u watch any of the psa reveal videos. U will see they are very tough on die-cuts, jersey/memorabilia cards and certain players like brady, lebron, jordan, kobe ect...

I can explain to you why you were Tom Brady’s are grading low with PSA. It’s because they want to keep the pop count down. Send it to SGC and you’ll get a fair grade always

I’ve found that anything I can’t spot when I crack it, usually finds a grade or 2 higher at SGC. I feel centering is critical at PSA, surface at BGS
How is centering critical at PSA when the allow for 60/40 centering on a 10? Most likely surface which they do grade harder on. And I have never cracked a PSA card and sent to SGC and gotten higher, I have gotten same grade or lower. PSA is the least “strict” grader of the companies and that along with having the first registry is why they became so popular. People that can’t grade get high grades and flip at a premium. The premium is to make up for their 1 year subscription, wait time, and percentage fee that PSA took from them.
I say why do you guys complain so much about the grade. Than complain about the grader, you looked the card over for atleast a hour right, you said card is great. So is it you that can't spot right or the guy getting paid to grade,. Two companies bad grades you take the guess.
The more people keep cracking and paying PSA to grade the same card 3-4x the more likely they are never gonna fix their issues

I dont slab , as a collector for over 50 years . i buy the card and not a grade that a third party grades

Just leave your cards as is. Don’t try and cross over. It usually backfires like it did. Besides, cards look better in a Bgs slab.
It was more of a curiosity thing and PSA tends to hold more value over BGS. I don’t plan on crossing over anytime soon

PSA is too inconsistent to do the crack and re-sub. I have seen a lot of bad re-sub reveals.

Graders are human & the grade is in the eye of the grader. I actually feel it’s more political with grading than what the actual card condition is.

Thank you for subscribing. It is a lot of money but I’m single and have no kids that I’m aware of so it allows me to to these submissions.
