Thenns are the best. Sigorn married Alys Karstark, giving him a claim as the potential Lord of Karhold. That union also leads to the creation of House Thenn, and their liege lord is Stannis the Mannis.
Alys x Sigorn is my fav Asoif couple in the books despite how little there is of them. I hope House Thenn makes it through both the Game of Thrones and Winter to get Karhold in the end. It seems just minor enough of a victory to be possible even with the cruel god that is He with a capital H.
If Stannis executes Arnolf, then it is pretty convenient for Sigorn to take Karhold because I think Karstark men would open the gates for Alys. But then if they return the captive Lord Karstark, hmm...
we will see that subplot in the dream of spring (the finale book), but we should request martin to make howland reed have an appearance and we really should hope we get to know more of what is littlefinger secret plans with Sansa?
I like the Thenns a lot, and the wedding between Alyx and Sigorn are hilarious and honestly, a great match. Also, fucking D&D, I hate what they did to the Thenns.
I love how GRRM has made a wee historical reference again. A Thegn (also spelled Thayne) was a low ranking nobleman in Anglo-Saxon Britain. Styr claiming to be the last of the first men and showing deference to Mance both make sense if you take this reference into consideration. Love your work Rawrist!
the umber mormonts and mountain clans are culturally similar to the wildlings and the north was accepting of the andal 7 worshiping manderleys so i think sigorn will do fine
the north weren't exactly pals with the andels when they let the manderleys in they might have even resented the Reach lords who had better land than them and the wildlings aren's as hated as some would think the umbers have done trading with them and unlike the andels they follow the same god at least
Great video! The marriage to Karstark sounds like it's going to play a big role. I'm on book 2 but the more RUclips I watch, the more apparent it is that D&D absolutely rushed to finish the show and it's their fault the ending sucked.
I'm not going to watch this until an hour after this comment but I just want to say that, as usual, I love your timing. I need a good RUclips video to watch in an hour!
Jermaine Muhammad The book version they are badass, but the show they are lame like all the other characters that in the books are awesome but in the show they suck really bad like dorne, ser barristan, Northmen, iron island, and Aegon's golden company.
Brandon the Builder was of the first men and built the wall... where'd the wildlings come from??? Are they of the first men? Or were the people banished from the kingdom? Or were they people escaping the kingdom and climbed down the wall (I know this makes no sense). The wall was to keep the others out. So, when did the feud with the wildlings begin? Might make an interesting video:)
As you get older you'll realize people project a lot and try to push their own shit on you. Just be yourself. "You waste time trying to get people to love you. You'll end up the most popular dead man in town."
I can't remember if the Thenns cannibilze in the books? I really wanted to see house Thenn in the show alas they made the Thenns pretty much like any other Wildling Clan
I know the Cannibal clan is near them, I was just trying to remember if they practice cannibalism or not lol maybe not as frequent as the cannibal clans, but as a means of survival during winter
Book thenn will always be better, because they have a useful story that impacts the story and their disciplined, the show just simplified them to a generic cannibalism.
They mate like other humans. The Wildlings normally practice bride kidnapping from another Clan. If the woman consent to the kidnapping they say a prayer under the heart tree.
awesome as always m'lady, fucking love book-Thenns, Sigorn is a great guy. Cannibal show-Thenns were fookin' garbage, they should've just given that tribe a different name
Mostly the books. Sometimes GRRM interviews or his comic con appearances. Though I take those sparingly as he has changed his lore after stating one thing at a con.
Did you ever notice that the most loving couples in A Song of Ice and Fire tend to come from vastly different backgrounds? Catelyn and Ned, Jon and Ygritte, Dany and Drogo, Alys and Sigorn, ...I feel like there is a pattern here.
Cat spends most of her first chapter reflecting on how foreign the North is to her, and how she doesn't really fit in there, even after all of these years. While her cultural differences with Ned are less extreme than in the other cases I mentioned, they are still very clearly there. Yeah, I thought about Tywin, but then again who knows how happy that relationship really was. We hear multiple times that Tywin loved his wife, but I can't remember hearing much about how Joanna felt about Tywin.
Kirsten Paff Brandon (Ned's older brother) were supposed to marry cat but he was not into her because of Lady dustin? but cat is lucky that ned was always been faithful to her right from the start, but he had to lie to her about jon snow's past, too bad she will never know that ned was always faithful to her. I hope that Lady alys and lord thenn i think they marriages will be successful but then they will face a problem like difference between local costume. Other marriage out of political reasons like jon arryn and lysa, robert and cersei, tyrell girl and joffery or tommen, rheagar and elia, mad king and his queen wife all of their marriage had a good political reasons were good but in their lives it sucked really badly they didnt liked each other and they had cheated on each other, the only political marriage that is successful was cat and ned, the rest sucks!
Thenns: I fucking hate Thenns.
lol
Joseph Seger I'm just waiting for someone from Skagos to show up and say, "I fucking love Thenns!"
I guess they're like Pikeys! lol
Especially with onions!
Joseph Seger I hope rawrist does more of these type videos and history oned
Thenns... I fucking love Thenns. Shame how D&D fucked up in portraying them, just like so many other things.
Thenns are the best. Sigorn married Alys Karstark, giving him a claim as the potential Lord of Karhold. That union also leads to the creation of House Thenn, and their liege lord is Stannis the Mannis.
*STANNIS! STANNIS! STANNIS!*
Rawrist i just found out today "yes i should have come sooner. If not for my hand, i might not have come at all" by stannis is a sex joke. Lolz
Stannis is the king of unintentional, deadpan comedy :)
I hope the northmen mountains have untapped or discover gold mines in the mountain because the iron bank will demand it's debt be repaid.
King Stannis would never break a contract especially one signed in his own blood. The Iron Bank shall be paid in full.
Glad you talked about Alys and Sigorn. I'm hoping we get to read more about those two lovebirds.
He is sooo sweet with his new bride. Warms my heart. :)
George can fix that
Alys x Sigorn is my fav Asoif couple in the books despite how little there is of them. I hope House Thenn makes it through both the Game of Thrones and Winter to get Karhold in the end. It seems just minor enough of a victory to be possible even with the cruel god that is He with a capital H.
Shhh, don't tell George you like them! You know what he'll do!

wtf they seem so much more civilized and interesting in the books,in the show they are just your basic human eating barbarian...
Thenns? I fucking LOVE Thenns.

Most excellent video! I could sit and listen all day!
Great video! The marriage to Karstark sounds like it's going to play a big role.

Jon x Val, I'm the master of ships!
Very interesting. Thennks you.
Thank you for watching. :)
Gosh your videos give me much more insight than anything else ever could, keep your work up!
Thenns: Similar to Robert E. Howard's Picts in the Hyborian Age and/or Wattie Buchan from The Exploited.
I like the thenns they are very bad ass
Jermaine Muhammad The book version they are badass, but the show they are lame like all the other characters that in the books are awesome but in the show they suck really bad like dorne, ser barristan, Northmen, iron island, and Aegon's golden company.
soyon manlai Don't forget Stannis the Mannis
he is also waaay better in books as in the show
thank you for cheering up my day Rawrist, love you
i fucking love tormund's nod while that wildling lady says she hates thens on "Hardhome" episode
Thanks so much for what you do!
Great video Rawist, excellent topic as well.
You need to do that singing at the end in more videos. Classic.
we were robbed of sigorn
Brandon the Builder was of the first men and built the wall... where'd the wildlings come from??? Are they of the first men? Or were the people banished from the kingdom? shane cowen first men settled everywhere. The free folk are the first men who settled at the other side of the wall before the wall was built
"They're like the Picts but they ate less people."
"Fewer."
"..."
Quik question: do you get the infos from the books only? Or from the untold history of westeros as well?
It's in the books. Sigorn the Magnar of Thenn bent the knee to Stannis, and his marriage is arranged by Jon Snow.
Thanks :)
i love you rawist
Awww
As you get older you'll realize people project a lot and try to push their own shit on you. Just be yourself. "You waste time trying to get people to love you. You'll end up the most popular dead man in town."

What's better show or book thenns?
The book's thenn will play a major role in reuniting free folks and northmen in the upcoming battle for dawn?
Book
Book
I have not read the books, do they really include all this information or do you get them from somewhere else?
All this information is from the books. :)
Great video. :-)
Book Thenns have lords laws and are not known for raiding
Show Thenns wE eAt pPl
I always wondered about those fucking Thenns
I can't remember if the Thenns cannibilze in the books? I really wanted to see house Thenn in the show alas they made the Thenns pretty much like any other Wildling Clan
Cannibals are another clan neighbour of the Thenns.
I know the Cannibal clan is near them, I was just trying to remember if they practice cannibalism or not lol maybe not as frequent as the cannibal clans, but as a means of survival during winter
I think I'm in love with you Rawrist keep up the good work
Thank you :)
Book thenn will always be better, because they have a useful story that impacts the story and their disciplined, the show just simplified them to a generic cannibalism.
...and yet...in the show...they are portrayed as overly large...CANNIBALS...hmm...
Do they wash down their meat with a nice chianti? I prefer beer 🍺🍻
What was that ne ne ny thing at the end?
Everyone hates the Thenns 8) lol. Love your videos about GoT and Comics and all the awesomeness!!!!!
That Thenn just got arrested for sexually explicit communication of a minor.
aw i liked this video~
Where is Иво Андонов???
Are they cannibals like in the show?
no.
wow❤❤
Northern Lord: Why should this wildling hold land?
Sigorn Thenn: Bitch I eat people!
So basically arctic north American Indians
I like thenns in the book than on the show.
Thenns are cannibals... I wonder why this was not mentioned in this video...?
They are not cannibals on the books.
Yeah; That's The Ice River Clan
When winter hits the south, St. Petersburg Sausage will become a thing everywhere lol.
thenns were so much better in the books the show totally ruined them
They are much better in the show.
How do they reproduce?
They mate like other humans. The Wildlings normally practice bride kidnapping from another Clan. If the woman consent to the kidnapping they say a prayer under the heart tree.
@@covenawhite4855 You're implying that the kidnapped women give birth to only...males?
I see where why you are so into this.
There are girl Wildlings. Like Yrigga who was with John Snow until they killed her off
@@covenawhite4855 I was talking about the orc-like creatures.
Are the Thenns extinct in the show?
No they are just Cannibal Wildlings unlike theway they are in the book.
Don't we all fucking hate thenns? Except sigorn, he's cool
awesome as always m'lady, fucking love book-Thenns, Sigorn is a great guy. Cannibal show-Thenns were fookin' garbage, they should've just given that tribe a different name
where do u get these information?
Mostly the books. Sometimes GRRM interviews or his comic con appearances. Though I take those sparingly as he has changed his lore after stating one thing at a con.
thanks for replying!
m a n n i s
Rawrist I FUCKING HATE THENNS!! ~ Every Wildling EVER.
