the lowering of the shoulder to create the collision takes precedence over the actions of the fielders. correct call by the ump. batter out. runners return to bases at time of the play, batter is ejected.
Bull shit call. The runner has every right to the bag which the first baseman completely blocked using horrible footwork. There was NO Lowering of shoulder - watch the video. The runner actually RAISED his shoulder to minimize the impact caused by the fielder. If you watch the video you will see the FIELDER step into the runners direct path at the very last moment. Then again, if you want to create your own fantasy…..don’t watch it again. Get a stretcher, a new first baseman, grow a pair and play ball. Moreover, this was the 2nd base umps call since he had eyes on the play and no obstruction to his line of sight like the home plate ump who made the call.
@@paulmiddleton4215 ….ARE YOU SERIOUS. You see the runner going off the baseline and lowering a shoulder? Are you watching the same video or are you just seeing what you want to see. Play it for a friend and see what he says about baseline and shoulders because you have NO CLUE.
@@paulmiddleton4215 that would be true IF there was a lowering of the shoulder. Stop seeing what you want to see and look at what the base runner ACTUALLY does with his shoulder. At the moment of impact - he RAISES his shoulder. Also Look at what the first baseman does just before the collision - he moves even further into the base path. Sorry, this call sucks.
First baseman had to move to his left and towards baseline to make catch. This created the interaction. Baserunner doesn't have an option.
The umpire felt Carson lowered his shoulder so he tossed him. I see a bad throw from 3B and poor footwork from the 1B.

Malicious contact and out of the runners lame. Put and eject
Yes Malicious contact, but the runners lane has absolutely nothing to do with this play.
