Ronaldinho actually scored 5 goals for his team in the paraguayan penitentiary championship final match and his team conquered the trophy in a 11 x 2 victory. The trophy was a 35 pound piglet , which was roasted and shared in a barbecue by all prison inmates. Fun fact: initially, the organizers of the championship wanted to establish a rule that would allow Ronaldinho to play, but he wouldnt be allowed to score goals. The idea did not gain support,though.

I have a suspicion that this data is not correct.. sure looks weird how can so many people be sentenced and not serve?? If they have the power to do that, why are they even sentenced? Wouldn't rich person get away with it by not being sentenced? Or how else could that work? I mean they didn't escape the country, so what happened? Just smells like bs😀
@@lukazupie7220 it's true basically they have top tier lawyers that the clubs pay, and they pay the victims too so that the case doesn't go too much into the public and the player can get out of those situations ASAP. few cases like those here in argentina, but in europe they have more money=more power .

Ronaldinho was asked to pay a fine in US dollars to the Paraguayan justice system when he started to serve time. Since this fine was aquitted, they returned him the money after his 5 months in prison. It just happens that the Brazilian Real suffered a huge depreciation during this time, and the returned fine ended up being a great investment.
