This discussion brings to mind an interesting anecdote. So, I'd imagine most everyone has heard the expression "bought the farm" in reference to aircraft going down or somebody getting killed. But I bet most of you probably don't know the origin of that expression. Allow me to enlighten you: Back in the earliest days of military aviation in the US, they trained pilots in a fairly rough fashion, without a whole lot of bookwork and classroom instruction. And there were no simulators, obviously. They moreorless put them in a plane (or what passed for an aircraft back then, anyway) and sent them out to learn or die trying. And those aircraft were not particularly easy to fly, stable, or reliable. They were flying brick coffins.
Naturally, the training took place far away from any densely populated area, over rural farms and wildlands. Because it was a common occurrence that farmer's fields and barns were damaged (or obliterated) in course of trainee pilots crashing or making emergency landings (not to mention ordnance training), the US govt had a system in place to pay off the farmers for any damage claims. And they paid them well, so as not to create negative public attention or otherwise endanger the program, because we needed the aircraft and pilots for our military to remain effective against others powers likewise adapting flight to military use. Perhaps even more than they knew, given the prevalence of military aviation in its myriad forms today.
In the worst crashes, it could easily cause the farm to become effectively a writeoff. Needless to say, in such cases there was zero chance of survival for the pilot. And the farmer was paid a sum far more than the combined worth of the entire farm. Thus it became common to say that a dead pilot trainee had "bought the farm".

This chase reminds me of Michigan State Police car chasing my buddy (for crossing a highway on his 250 MX) bike through a very rough field for 1 mile. The cop stayed right with him and as my buddy gets on our road, he flies into his garage and closes the door then scoots into his house as the MSP car screeches to a halt in front of his house and proceeds to tell his dad to open the garage. His dad said "get off of my property". The cop turns to go to his car and the radiator exploded and washed all of the grass, dirt & mud all over the road. His dad made him sell the bike. 1976 memories.

The police garage will not be replacing any sub-frames or cutting out and straightening.
There's really not much more to say on the matter, if you can't understand from the video in car. These police did not exhibit proper usage.
