Nice video. To handle the 37" spare for my 3500, I just installed bumper with tire carrier from Expedition One. Very well built, lots of attention to detail. So far, I'm extremely happy with it. Nice to see an alternative solution.
I have 40s and want a carrier. Iv looked at bumpers, really liked them... But at the same time, it would be nice to have a tire rack that I can remove, expecially in situations where I probbaly won't have a flat... And I need my tailgate down to haul something!! This ultra swing is exactly that .. I can drop the tire, and pull the carrier out!
Doesn't look bad, swings out of the way of the tailgate, and mounts as a pass-through hitch receiver: I like it. It looks a little wobbly when the truck is moving, though.
It can’t be completely rigid or it would tear itself apart, so some “wobble” is necessary. It’s also worth mentioning I was driving over deep ruts from someone that did donuts in the mud last winter haha.
Like you, I have just rolled the dice and hoped I would not need a spare while up in the high sierras. I have put this in my cart a few times over the last six months but never pulled the trigger. I searched for good reviews to support buying one but there are not many out there. After watching your review I am going to pull the trigger. Thanks for the review. It looks amazing on your rig
Yeah there was nothing about these! Figured I’d take one for the team and make a video haha. Fun fact, I noticed that CJC is the only place that offers free shipping on these, which actually saves a ton.
Anyway to have the ability to utilize rear backup camera with the carrier in place, extending the factory camera to the RIGd bar or something? Just a thought
Every time I see your truck it reminds me of my dads. He has a 2004 ram 2500 and it looks to be the exact same colour as your and he has after market wheels on his with the Cummins
Your next purchase and review should be the S&B 52 gallon replacement tank! Been eyeing that for my '07 5.9 QCSB, as they're the only larger tanks available for our sized trucks.
Great video! I’ve been thinking about the spare tire problem as I consider upgrading from 35” to 37” tires. This gives me more to think about than my original idea of buying a new bumper with a permanent swing out tire rack. I like the idea that you can remove it if needed! Definitely added to my wish list. I love the channel content so far!, any considerations for reviews on drive train components or tuners? I know you run the edge cts 3 monitor but I can’t recall you saying anything about a tuner or anything done to the motor on your 3rd gen.
I have a Smarty Jr on the truck that I use for tire size correction and a little boost to fuel economy. I haven’t gotten much into the power additions since the truck still has a stock trans though.
If they offered a buy1 swing right get a chance to buy 1 swings left at workable price your buddy gets 1 too or u r baja 2 tire carrier cool mega deal offer + extra mounting stuff . God approves of this tech for ppl's truck if can get mass production price.
curious as to why you have a matching spare on there, and the (what looks to be) stock spare under the bed? I did this for a little for added weight on my rig but got rid of it! just saving up for my rigd ultra swing! Nice rig! subscribed !
I kept it since I actually don’t daily drive with the RIGd carrier. I only take it on trips and keep my small spare as a back up for day to day. Thanks for watching and subbing!!
Nice pice, however I've already built my own bumper so I will build off that and keep my clearance high and my tire weight right up close to the tailgate.
Just discovered your channel and think it's great. SUBSCRIBED! I too have a low mileage 2007 5.9 (just turned 93k). It's amazing what these trucks are capable of with well-integrated, high-quality mods - but it does take $$$. I do have one question on the carrier: Is the license plate visible with the carrier installed? From the video it appears to be hidden. Thanks!
Always loved this thing, the only thing that bugs me is how far it sticks out but unless they make one that's a whole bumper as well it's gonna stick out
Thanks for the review. I don’t know if I want to go with the Expedition One dual swing bumper or some kind of hitch mounted solution. I’m not too stoked about the Wilco , but this one looks as if it might sway me away from the Expedition One model. On another note, do you know if the Baja designs flush mount rear lights will fit into the 2019+ Ram oem bumpers?
What swayed me to this was keeping my OEM bumper and having the rack be removable. I really like that all the camping stuff on my truck can come right off. And any flush mount light will if you cut the bumper like I did to mine! Baja Designs also sells a no drill back up light kit with S2 lights for the 19+ Rams if you don’t feel like cutting. That mounts the lights right below the rear bumper.
@@JustDiesels our truck is white, and I really like the chrome and don’t know if I want a black or painted white bumpers.. My wheels are like yours but polished. This setup looks to be my solution the more I type. Also cheaper than replacing front and rear bumpers lol
I do although I didn’t film the process of installing and removing it. It’s pretty simple though since the rack just pinches the bed rails! Here’s my review: ruclips.net/video/jL_x8wXodxU/видео.html
I"m only going to be carrying a 32" tire maybe-- but I'm putting an additional gas tank where my spare presently fits- to give me 56 gallons instead of 23 on my GX470.... I wish this would fit a BIT closer to the door though.. are they perhaps adjustable? ALSO- how to you keep some damn fool from pulling the pin and stealing the whole damn thing- tire and all???
@@JustDiesels Locks are easy for pro crooks though.. I can open one with a piece of empty coke can.. (No I was federal bodyguard- not crook- just learned stuff to prevent my OWN from getting stolen.. :)
I think the trend right now is no spare at all. Jeeps are doing it to save weight and improve departure angle, I guess we always want what we don’t have
That’s the tough thing right? Making something in the US just flat costs more. I’m sure they could offer it for a few hundred less if they made it overseas, but I prefer to support US companies!

How does this work with the factory mounted tailgate camera? Also, is a license plate light included with the plate relocation?
I have one and use a 37 inch tire. World great. The old latch kinda sucks but they now have an updated one.
I just got one for my Tundra. Great review and great product!

Great review, I'm sold that this is the best option short of my LoD tire carrier on my CJ5, this will give me exactly what I need for my Ram.
I’ve been very happy with mine! I toss it on for trips and then take it off for daily driving.

Other question...the bed rack...is it the short or long sidebars version of the yakima?

if they doubled it up so u can Baja swing 1 tire right & other left that gives u more mounting spots as well.

This has a plate relocation mount so that’s no worries. It isn’t lit, but I seriously can’t imagine anyone would get pulled over for that.
