i think it’s good they pushed shaun but i feel bad for him because he didn’t really want to do it
Problem is he's far too comfortable going there and just coasting. Them pushing him was (by my guess) trying to make him broaden himself and to get used to more people.
You can't prepare a kid for life by allowing them to always be comfortable, life unfortunately leads you to uncomfortable places and without exposure to it you leave them defenceless to it.
If Sean saw this he’d be like you know what annoys me they sent me name wrong 😂

I sort of feel the same, because I was pushed into a main part in the school play when I was younger. I mean, it was year 6, so it's completely meaningless now, but maybe somewhere deep in my mind that made me less of an introvert.

Good on Coral for not being scared off from performing. I know for a lot of people having moments like that on stage in front of an audience would put them off for life. So its really a great thing that she hasn't let it put her off especially as it was her only escape from the difficult things she was going through. Sean as well you could just see the confidence growing in him it was really special.

I have a physical disability like Sean and I attend a day service for adults with disabilities. . The staff there have encouraged me to come out of my comfort zone. Sean was lucky to have a school that encouraged him to try new things

i mean if you go to these shows expecting amazing singers out of 12-15 year olds that your problem😭 theyre all untrained and young, most are in the middle of puberty so their voices arent developed. its enjoyable either eat.

To all teachers at willows........great job! I think that this documentary should be shown to all people who wants to become a teacher. The way you are doing your job is live changing to these students and should be set as a guid for all future teachers.

This is surreal. When I was in school I had a teacher yell at me and tell me I would be a failure because my older sister was really disrespectful to the teachers. They labeled me from day 1 because of my older sister. So....
I quit in grade 9, ended up in trouble, a runaway, homeless and drug addicted. I don’t blame the school for being right but I wonder if I had been nurtured how my life would have been different. Teachers impact kids lives. Positive and negatively. These are amazing teachers.

I have watched a few of these now and what an AMAZING school. The pastoral care especially is outstanding. The staff are absolutely wonderful. What the school and that lady did for Coral with Drs appointments, winter jackets etc was just so wonderful to see. What a credit to Cardiff!!! I live in New Zealand where we think our schools are pretty good but they've got nothing on this school. Well done.

Kieran Bartley Reminds me of when I was in Year 8. This globally known workshop led by the Young Americans came over to my Secondary School. I didn’t think too much of it and for a while, I was hoping to just chill and not do anything throughout February Half Term.
Or so I thought until my School’s SENCO at the time then recommended that I go join in that workshop. Still didn’t think too much of it first time around. But it was not until I auditioned for Grease later on in the same calendar year when I did start to appreciate Performing Arts as a whole.
But at the time of that Workshop, I didn’t really want to do it but I felt like I was forced to at a time when I wasn’t that keen on performing.

Coral’s performance was amazing she did amazing she was so brave to stand up there and do a solo I cried and ran off stage many times but it should never hold you back if anything it shows you’re even stronger than you know! We’re all so proud of you coral I know I’m about a decade late from when this was filmed but you’re incredible hope your having the best life gorgeous ❤

Watching this makes me so proud of my profession as a teacher and the realisation that on many occasions, we are enhancing and changing lives. So many children are vulnerable with complex needs.........that's where schools can step up to the mark and be there when they most need us.
I feel really bad for coral :( I wish I could just give her a big hug when she's upset 🥺

I usually love this school but forcing a really shy kid to perform in front of everyone is horrible. Some people DO NOT want the spotlight on them and they shouldn't force him to do that.
