  • A day in the Victorian goldfields, back when we were free to cross borders at will. Just the detector, a set of headphones and a pick, and of course the gold bottle! Very windy day, but eases off to a nice calm late afternoon.

Have started to watch your vids, very cool stuff.
Back in 95 I had the XT1700 and found a 1874 silver "3 pence "?at the top of Watts gully.
I thought it was a 5c piece and was about to chuck it...lucky I didn't.
Anyway, watching your vids brings back a lot of fond memories especially around the Crawford area
    Thanks for entertaining viewing

Glad you found the channel, and thanks for watching. Nice find. Old coins are a rare find these days, but I'm sure there are some more to be found in the trashy areas where no one can be bothered detecting for more than ten mins haha

At least you USE the SDC, and don't immediately lambast it, because it's not a 6 or a 7000. Good video. Some useful techniques hidden in the shots also.

    • @diggingwithphasetech

Thanks. All detectors have their strong points. SDC has limited controls so it's all about how/where you swing it. Still a very capable machine.

@@diggingwithphasetech Agree about simple controls, but after trying out a 5000, and selecting "wrong" settings, and finding almost the same stuff as on "proper" settings, I wonder if the SDC (electronics) is simpler/better Just need a bigger coil I guess.

Cool stuff found a surfacing area in Clermont scrub almost exactly the same workings left as in your video and yep paid off. Definitely good spots worth a try when you find em for sure👍

Thanks, but it's rarely easy, with experience comes confidence, and that can help a lot, but the gold still has to be there, and sometimes there's a lot of trash in the way.

    Awesome video Mr.
I just hired one and had a quick play before some rain…
I was struggling with ‘wobbly’ noise as I was scanning.
It’s very irony and mineralised ground here. Yalgoo area.
So unless it’s a very positive signal I don’t think I’d even bother digging some of the noise that lead you to dig gold. 😮..
As in, the varying noise as I was sweeping just seemed normal.
I have a 0.28 gram piece of gold to test with… When I had it only a couple of inches it sang! But 6 or 8 inches and I couldn’t tell it from the normal ‘wobble’…
So should I drop my sensitivity, or thresh hold, or both?
    👊🙏

Si hay oro superficial presente, que sea lo suficientemente grande como para detectarlo (no polvo), entonces el SDC2300 lo detectará.
