It's so funny to me that Drake Bell playing a Spiderman parody in this movie ended up voicing Spiderman in the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon and other things.
I appreciate the effort for only using the first sentence of the comment you stole from MellVerse channel. Exactly word for word. But hey, at least you put your own thought (maybe) at the end of it. I'm sure you can do better next time, my guy. Still waiting for your original comment! I believe in you! I really do. 😁
I think it's unfairly lumped in with Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Date Movie, and shit like that. This is so much better than those movies even comparing them would be an insult. Shame Superhero Movie stars a sex pest. But Drake Bell was pretty popular for the time. This movie overall isn't even close to awful. It's just silly.
I remember watching this when I was younger and one joke from it, one joke that I remember completely unprompted at least once week is 'We have people who can walk through walls. We have people who think they can walk through walls.' Just pure comedy gold.
I love this movie and it’s one of the best parodies ever. The nail gun scene, “I CAN FLY! I can fly” “This just in, Tom Cruise is dead”and “glass in my eye” killed me
Also the Doctor is King Neptune in SpongeBob movie, the man who kills His parents is the same man who killed Uncle Ben in Spider man 2002, the bald guy whose the first to get his life force sucked by Hourglass is Homer Simpson, and the police Chief is Keith David. 🤓
Out of all the terrible parody movies that came out in the 2000s, this is easily one of the best out of them all since it actually stays true to the source material and has genuinely good jokes, and is surprisingly still relevant today.
I had a dvd of this movie which I watched over and over. The Hourglass is an underrated villain. I loved his constant reference to time, something he doesn't have much of. The theme song at the end is pretty catchy, too.
I love these parody movies! Scary Movie 1-5, Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Stan Helsing, this one, and more. So much fun! I always thought Drake Bell would have been a good live action Spider-Man, so it’s awesome he actually got to voice him in the underrated Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.
As ridiculous this movie is, definitely think the concept of Hour Glass is pretty awesome for a supervillian: You have to drain the life of someone each day just to live.
Yeah, and they had no reason to go THAT HARD with his costume either, specially for a parody movie that they knew either way was going to be panned by critics.
I actually had this on dvd. I remember the parody commercials that showed before the the movie played. One I thought was funny was, "There's no such thing as glass free freeze pops!"
Yesss let's goo finaly coy and andrew doing a movie reaction to one of my favorite spoof/superhero movie's i rewatch it soo many when i was younger and back then i had no idea it was a spoof movie and now i do and it's hilarious🦸♂️😅😅😅 thank you reel rejects for this SUPER movie reaction❤🤙have a wonderfull weekend💪😎❄🤙
For an alternative comedy, check out Mr Right (2015) with Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick. It's slick, fast-paced and hilarious with some great fight scenes - written by Max Landis so you know there's a healthy dose of quirkiness in there and Sam Rockwell is just superb.
Saw Coy and see superhero in the title and had to click haha Never seen this one before. So reminds of Scary Movie parody haha…of course Leslie Nielsen from the Naked Gun/Airplane movies haha. The dad was the same actor who was in the Airplane movies…Regina Hall🤣🤣…every time I hear Keith David I think of Goliath from Disney’s Gargoyles
I was a huge Drake & Josh fan growing up and always thought he would have been a good Peter Parker back in the day lol. I saw this movie in theaters, 15 year old me loved it. 😂 I still get a kick out of this movie lol. Would be fun to see a Superhero Movie 2, so much has changed since since this film came out haha.
Back in the 80s, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends had Spidey hanging out with Iceman and Firestar. I know they had some crossovers with the X-Men, but I don't remember if Spider-Man ever visited Xavier's School.
Made me wonder, did all of the crew already saw all of the scary movies? And are there other parody movie "series" all I know are the scary movie and this.
There are a few parody movies, Fast comes to mind which is a parody on the Fast and Furious movies, Epic Movie is a parody of Narnia and a bunch of other things, Disaster Movie is a parody of all the movies with disasters and pop culture at the time. But a lot of the movies are hit or miss depending on your sense of humor.
@@tupslmao you forgot Date Movie parodying romantic movies, Meet The Spartans parodying 300, Not Another Teen Movie parodying teen movies, A Haunted House 1 and 2 parodying Paranormal Activity and The Conjuring, etc
I truly think that if this movie wasnt plauged with 2000's "edgy" humor this would be as good as scary movie. the casting is dead on, and some of these jokes are so good. Miles Fisher as tom cruise, man oh man. It also does as good of a job weaving all the hero's origins together as Scary Movies 1 and 2 did horror movies.
I'm glad that the marvel alliteration was brought up with Peter Parker. Marvel has so many, Scott Summers, J. Jonah Jameson, Dum Dum Duggen, Bruce Banner, Matt Murdock, Otto Octavius, Michael Morbius, Stephen Strange, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Fing Fang Foom, lol and etc etc.
100% would love to see a reaction of Mystery Men and though not directly based on any comic books property there was a horror series called Mystery Men Comics that is very much about odd ball characters.
Don't know if it actually was Toby Maguire, but it was someone in a Spider-Man costume. When the X-Men first enter the Statue of Liberty, Spider-Man joins them, then says "Whoops, sorry, wrong movie..." and runs off...
Watch Minute Men, it'd be interesting to see a modern perspective on how superheroes were spoofed in the 90s. I had and watched this a lot on DVD and I never realized till now how similar Harry's arc in ASM2 is to Hourglass's, but it makes more sense here to why they'd become a maniac. This was the last decent parody movie IMO because it had no useless reference gags, doesn't stray too far from its established reality, and Leslie Nielsen is great in it. I've watched some others since, but sometimes they tend to lack in production or budget(1st Haunted House comes close).
I'm glad someone watched, & loved Mystery Men as much as I did. I was hoping for a sequel, but with Paul Rubens gone I just don't know. Yes, you should watch The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as well. Also, put Bowfinger on your list to.

My favorite joke is no this is healthy cough blood and how are your folks, they were brutally murdered, but otherwise okay. 😅 haha
It's so funny to me that Drake Bell playing a Spiderman parody in this movie ended up voicing Spiderman in the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon and other things.
I love Ultimate Spider-Man! I always wanted him to play him in live action also.
He has a very Spider-Man voice so it makes sense
@@purpleowlanimationIt already has

The show happened in 2012, and lasted until 2017
Favorite joke is probably Leslie shooting the nail gun at Kevin’s Hand. 😂
My favorite was the monkey scene, it's just so god level random comedy 😂
My favorite is the follow-up to the nail gun. Where he bets his uncle wouldn't land one punch and he immediate punches Kevin Hart in the face.
One hilarious scene as well was the fruitcake bit 😂
Ah, the 2000s parody movies. They were awful and amazing at the same time. And this is definitely one of the most hilarious.
Not awful, but hilarious yes.
@@Kevmaster2000 compared to Airplane! and Dewey Cox, yeah, they’re pretty awful.

Rest in peace Leslie Nielsen it can’t be said enough❤❤❤❤
So excited to see Coy and Andrew react to this movie! This movie is so funny and underrated! 👍

Would you consider this an underrated comedy?
I’ve always thought that.
Criminally underrated movie. Jokes and characters are hilarious.
Definitely. This movie was hilarious!
Yess it's soo underrated and hilarious😅😅😅

This is my favourite parody movie. 😂
My friends and I used to watch it all the time.
Pure comedy gold far ahead of its time.
Have you seen Loaded Weapon? or Top Secret?

I love this one and I looooove the song, because I'm a big fan of Drake Bell :D
if I remember correctly, Craig Mazin wrote this movie. And yes, he is a creative, wrote, and directed episodes of The Last of Us.
Funny how Drake Bell played a parody of Spider-Man only to voice the actual character in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.
Agreed 💯 percent love it that is how the world 🌍 works if you play someone in a spoof you tend to play voice of him later down the line
God I love this movie I first saw it when I was a kid and that ending song slaps👌🏻
this movie is easily up there with the scary movie series for best spoof movies, its so stupid yet so funny at the same time
LOOK HE CAN FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
14:01 this will always be my favorite gag in this movie 😂
The line I reference all the time is "this is healthy cough-blood".
Probably my two favorites from this genre during the early 2000s are "Scary Movie" and "Not Another Teen Movie."
"I never married."
"Fruitcake?"
"No, just never met the right woman."
Of the barrage of bad Spoof Movies we got in the aughts, this was one of the better ones.
Best joke 🤔
Im not wearing any diamonds 😂😂
Honestly The Dragonfly and The Hour Glass both have cool motives and suits, they could be legitimate comic book characters
THIS MOVIE WAS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20:47 You think that that was really Barry Bonds? 🤣 It was Sean Simms
