    Something I didn't mention in the video is the fact that Thanos creator Jim Starlin said the MCU version of him was incredible. That Brolin was a great Thanos and the movies had lots of emotion. Marvel had come to him and preferred to use the imbalance motivation over the Mistress Death one. They were hesitant on using her because they felt audiences wouldn't get behind a far-fetched idea like that (yet). I mean, a Grim Reaper of the MCU? C'mon lol

    • @tayojones9460
      @tayojones9460 5 лет назад +2

      As a bloody fan, I would get behind it! And I think most members of the public would as well. What is so outlandish about the female embodiment of death in universe with a fucking talking space raccoon?!

    • @ChannelNerdgasm
      @ChannelNerdgasm  5 лет назад +1

      Because there being a Grim Reaper might be too odd or a can of worms Marvel doesn't want to open just yet. I don't blame them. They're introducing the cosmic/mysticism ideas slow which is smart because those are what blew the comics out of proportion in many ways. A lot of people might turn away from the shared universe faster with them in place right now. Patience is the best way.

    • @tayojones9460
      @tayojones9460 5 лет назад +2

      Well we may not get lady deatg now. And may I remind you, thst the MCU introduced Rocket and Howard the bloody duck. The female embodiment of death being too outlandish is fucking stupid!

    • @ChannelNerdgasm
      @ChannelNerdgasm  5 лет назад +1

      A raccoon in space and a talking duck don't have much influence though. They don't have the potential to unravel the entire universe like a Grim Reaper does. Its apples and oranges.

    • @tayojones9460
      @tayojones9460 5 лет назад +1

      You do release that the female version of death is fictional? I doubt the general public would be stupid enough to believe that death is a,woman. It is a different interpretation and the producers could have easily think of a,way to make sure it made sense on the big screen.

    Great video, you know what makes endgame and infinity war so wonderful besides being them both being great and successful? Its that Jim Starlin love them both and he had a cameo in endgame to . He was with Cap and the russos in that therapy session.

    • @ChannelNerdgasm
      @ChannelNerdgasm  5 лет назад +3

      Yeah I know I caught that - it was great. He himself has stated that the choice to use the imbalance side of the character worked and he didn't need Lady Death (Marvel was hesitant on using her because they felt the mainstream might not get behind an idea like that - a Grim Reaper of the MCU). He felt the emotion with Gamora was good too. He liked how Thanos accepted his fate and the end of Endgame and took it like a man. If the creator of Thanos thought it worked and got behind it, then I don't know why fans think it was bad in any way lol

    I feel that the MCU slept on this thanos....dont get me wrong l enjoyed this thanos and loved the moves endgame and infinity wars...but thanos is bigger than all of this....thanos doesnt need a army or some type of black order to body guard....and he also wouldnt lose a battle to iron man or the likes of anyone of that caliber....thanos is a demi-god...hes cold, calculated, sophisticated, cosmically powerful...hes ETC....l feel that the movie thanos was dumbed down so it will seem like the heros could win just so it could seem like the heros could always win.... + the fact that marvel is owned by disney so kids didnt need to see a blood bath and or see there favorite heroes lose... but that just my opinion....

    • @ChannelNerdgasm
      @ChannelNerdgasm  5 лет назад +3

      The best stories featuring Thanos from the comics didn't have bloodbaths. Marvel being for kids is a misconception especially when their movies have more emotional resonance than the more violent ones. If you look at the Infinity Saga from the 1990s, its revealed that he subconsciously wanted to lose - he didn't feel worthy of the power he had and basically let the heroes win. Its not that much of a stretch what they did in Infinity War/Endgame.

      @@NuggyPoundy1 THANK YOU!!!!!! My sentiments exactly. MCU Thanos is a blade wielding, short sighted, severely nerfed, warlord with a gauntlet that supposedly can do anything except stop a hammer when it’s thrown super hard. Where’s the Eternal who laughs off direct assaults with cosmic blasts from his eyes/fists? The mad Titan who turned wolverine’s bones to rubber and blasted Galactus on his ass who wielded infinite power on many separate occasions using it to its full effect? The disciple of death with Machiavellian schemes that could only be undone by their creator? Thanos is being who comprehends existence on a level nobody else can and therefore can do things nobody else can. What the MCU gave us was a buff Grimmace with slightly increased intelligence and a play glove. Fuck off

    Comics Thanos is beyond every single MCU and DCEU hero and villain so he wayyy more powerful and scales way higher than MCU Thanos but MCU Thanos is such a perfectly written villain but it’s sad that he doesn’t have his comic powers like it would be very cool if he had them even if they were gonna be nerfed. Mcu Thanos on his own with no powers still could’ve killed most the avengers and complete his goal many times over… if he had his powers even if they’re nerfed there would be like no chance for the avengers or any hero to stop Thanos in the MCU as in the comics he destroyed many superhero teams in all of marvel SOLO with his powers but the avengers would still stop and end up beating Thanos because of plot reasons.

    I’m pretty sure at the beginning Thanos was supposed to have some relationship to Mistress Death. But I believe that the people in charge probably for some reason didn’t see it fit to have her and changed it. I say that because in the first Avengers’ movie Thanos’ underling said “To challenge them is to court Death” then Thanos turns around and smiles. And just from that short scene you can already see that that Thanos was different than the one we got later in the MCU. The Thanos in Avengers he seemed to be intrigued, even fascinated by death while the Thanos we got later only wanted to wipe out half of life to make everything more equal for the people that were left with less worrying about recourses and how you’d survive. The later MCU Thanos was worried about perfect balance while the first Thanos seemed more concerned with death. The later Thanos seemed like he did what he did out of necessity while the earlier Thanos was intrigued by the mention of death. But that’s why I think Mistress Death was originally supposed to play some part in the MCU but was later changed and taken out.

    They could still bring back thanos using Misstress death in the mcu. Just need a proper story with the cosmic side of the mcu. Similarly to how she brought him back to life in the comics. But not the Thanos Tony wiped out at the end of endgame but the Thanos which was killed by thor at the begining. And meniulate him to obtain power for her own means.
